Called for service, had an appointment that day, technician was here within hour, door issue diagnosed and fixed. Technician Danny Meredith was professional, timely, did quality work and showed me what caused problem in first place. This is the kind of customer service I don't have a problem paying for

Door was coming off tracks. A1 replaced the springs for about $300. Fourteen months later header bolts stripped out of the wood (these were reattached by A1, between the springs where drive assembly attaches to the wall). Called A1 and they used longer bolts to attach to the header, charged me $150, and said I needed a new door. I called the office to see what they could do for me since I had already spent $450 on repairs when they should have recommended replacement in the first place. I was told the owner would call me back. One week went by no call back, I called and left a message, and sent an email. Still no call back. This is unacceptable.

A1 replaced springs and did not recommend any other service. One year and two months later the header bolts stripped out of the wood. Called A1 for service and they reinstalled with longer bolts, and said I needed a new door after spending $300 on springs and $150 more to put the bolts in properly after 14 months. Called to talk to the owner to see what they could do for me. I was told he would call me back. I never got a call back even after leaving another message and email.

Went well! No hassles. Repairman was nice & polite and the service was fine.

I wish that I'd investigated the company and their 'real' reviews more thoroughly before calling. Any potential customers should seek multiple quotes before dealing with A1. Chances are high that you'll be taken advantage of if you don't shop around. A1 replaced two springs, the cables, and drums for $826. It's my own fault that I overpaid and I should've first sought quotes from multiple companies. I called 5 other companies for quotes on replacing the springs, cables, and drums, and they all came back with quotes between $225-$400, less than half of what I paid A1. To add insult to injury, I called A1 back the very same day and asked for a quote over the phone. Their employee quoted me $250 for the exact same work and said that they'd beat any competitor pricing. I called Tommy [the owner] and told him that I felt I'd been overcharged. Initially, Tommy was argumentative and defensive, insisting that A1 uses only the highest quality parts. (of note, the highest price I could find on a high-cycle torsion spring was $59 retail-- I'm sure that A1 gets a better price, and A1 shouldn't advertise that they'll beat competitors' prices if they don't intend to honor the claim) After listening to Tommy's 7 minute diatribe about how their crappy competitors are just small businesses with the wife doing the bookkeeping at home and how I received the highest quality parts on the market, I flat out asked Tommy if he really believed that $826 was a fair price for the work that had been done. Tommy didn't have a response, and quickly jumped onto another tangent about how much more he spends in running background checks on all of his employees and keeping his trucks stocked. There's no doubt that A1 does good work. JD did an excellent job, he was quick, courteous, and professional (except for inflating the prices). If I'd done my research, I wouldn't have been ripped off like I was. A1 is efficient at getting their foot in the door. They offer to get someone out to your right away for a 'free quote', knowing that once they're there, there's very little likelihood of being sent away. Tommy agreed to a partial refund, and 3 days later, the refund hasn't been processed, he won't answer his phone or text messages, and the gentleman answering the phones at their call center started to transfer me to 'Gina' who handles their refunds, but then said "oh if she's, uh, not at her desk for any reason, go ahead and leave a message." -- I shouldn't have been ripped off to begin with, but I certainly shouldn't have to chase down the company to ensure that they keep their promise of issuing a partial refund. I'm sure Tommy will be quick to discredit my review and justify the delayed refund. I don't have any interest in bashing his company's reputation. However, until A1 honors the agreed refund, I'll seek remediation through all available means.

The gentleman indicated I really needed a new garage door opener, so I ordered one and he returned several days later and installed it.

Wish I could give them 6 stars. My garage spring broke late Friday night. I called A1 at seven am on Sat. morning. A person picked up the phone! Set an appointment for 12 noon. The guy showed up at 12, and had the spring replaced and the door fixed in 1 hour! A1 Garage Doors’ customer service is top notch, something I haven’t experienced in a long while. Our neighborhood is about twelve years old and everyone’s springs are busted or close to it. I recommend A1 to everyone. As far as price goes, I received some other quotes and asked around, and most places were twice the price for what most likely would have been half the service. I can't emphasis enough the quality of work and customer service. They even schooled me how to do the adjustments and maintenence needed to keep the door smooth and straight. An absolute pleasure to work with. Don't even bother calling anyone else, A1 is the one you want.

A1 Garage Door is a terrific company who employs terrific employees. I decided on this company because of the reviews and these reviews do not lie. Larry came out because I misplaced my garage remote and was unable to open my garage door manually. Larry did an amazing job. He successfully entered my garage and did the repairs needed. I believed I needed a keypad installed to open the garage door if there ever was another incident but he made sure to inform me that I didn't need a keypad. Just an emergency key release garage door opener. Larry is very honest, sincere and professional. Not only are A1’s prices quite reasonable, they treats their customers exceptionally well. I will only use this company from now on and couldn’t be happier with my experience.

Dennis was on time for our new garage door consultation and very professional. He had more choices for door options & styles than another company I spoke with. So I ended up getting a great new garage door. The installers did a great job. Dennis is a perfectionist and makes sure the job is done to your satisfaction. O.K. these guys are awesome! Our apartment garage hinge broke in half with the screws lodged inside the hinge. I called several other companies with high ratings but they were all booked up, or not available at my convenience. So i call A1 Garage Door Service since they were forth on my list to call anyway. Spoke to a nice man who booked us 4-6 at night. They showed up at 4pm. Gave me a very reasonable quote to get a replacement hinge. Also, I asked them for a manual override key since i couldn't find mine. The tech had all the parts he needed right on his truck, so he replaced the hinge and got us a replacement key! Had a few suggestions on how to make our door run smoother, but there was no hard up-sell. Very straight-up guys and in my view, very honest.

We had an appointment and actually got stood-up by another garage Door company, and I needed our garage door fixed asap. Leaving a garage door open in this neighborhood is just asking for trouble. A1 Garage Door came out right when promised, in the evening on a holiday weekend for no extra charge. They scanned the situation and had everything they needed to fix the door right then & there. They were friendly and honest, and their fees were reasonable. Recommended.

Honest, reliable, and resourceful. I called A1 Garage Door Service to fix our Garage Door. It was pretty messed up and I was expecting to have parts replaced. Robert looked at the problem, and we decided the best solution within my price range was a bit of lube on the rollers. Problem solved for now. I then had them come back later (when I had some money) to replace my worn springs. A1 is a great company and worked within my budget and charged a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend them.

Thank you, A1 Garage Doors, for fixing my broken garage door. My door had not quite detached from the metal rod that attaches to the door opener, But it was going to go soon, I could tell. It looked ready to bust. So I called A1. Danny arrived and had all the parts needed for the repair on his truck, so he just got the job done. The repair works beautifully and it seems like it will last a long time. Price was fair and I had no problem paying him for the fine work.

One of the cable wires on our garage door came detached last night, and the door became horribly stuck, crooked and unable to move. I called A1 Garage Doors this morning at 7 am. They sent out a guy named Stanley who was out here at 10 am fixing the door. Incredibly quick service! Stanley reattached the cable and replaced the existing drum (spool ) with a much better one, and then re-aligned the panels, which only took him a bit over one hour. The fee was fair, quick service, all that work, 150 bucks, good to me…less than I was expecting. Thanks A1 , for getting here and getting me fixed up so quickly and for the fair price.

We backed our large van into our garage door before it was completely open. Yikes. We looked up A1 Garage Doors online and called to see if they could come out that evening. YES? YES! He came out a few hours later, the tech who’s name was Roger. He examined the damage, gave us our options and his recommendation, that the door needs to be replaced but the opener that opens & closes it need not be. Because of the unique color we wanted we were unable to get the door replaced that day because it had to be ordered. Roger helped us get the van out and temporarily repair the door while we waited for our door to come in. On installation day he was prompt, did great work and we had a beautiful new working door in no time! He was professional, friendly, and gave a fair price. - much less than we expected to pay. We highly recommend Roger and A1 Garage Doors and will definitely use him again if we need to, though hopefully we won't have to for quite a while.

Awesome service. We recently moved into a new home and realized that the garage spring was broken. We called A1 & they arrived in around 4 hours. John had a truck full of parts so he had it repaired within the hour. It was a very reasonable price. They even returned a call later to answer a question I had. Also, this was on a holiday . Most places were not even open.

I had a problem with my garage door, it wasn’t ever closing all the way shut. The repair man from A1 Garage Door Service knew exactly what he was doing and fixed the problem immediately. He was very friendly and honest. A1 has a very reasonable rate. I would hire A1 Doors again for any other garage door issues we might have in the future.

Great success! The man showed up with all the parts & tools he needed to repair my door. I had no idea what was going on with it, so I couldn't tell him what the problem was on the phone. But this guy knew his stuff. In and out in less than two hours. He fixed my door, and saved me a lot of grief. The guy really had a great friendly personality as well. Priced fair. Turns out the motor was messed up, and I need a new one., which was under warranty ! All good now.

A1 Garage Door Service is nothing short of amazing. They sent a man named Richard after I called to book an appointment. Great personality & early, and he knows what he's doing. I backed my car right into the closed garage door. the door was hanging on by a thread when he arrived. Just a short while and a couple new parts later, it all looked almost new again. And the very reasonable pricing…NICE. Very impressed and very happy. I would recommend A1 especially Richard without hesitation.

Crew arrived an hour after I called the A1 office for service. Dean was very competent. He diagnosed the problem immediately (broken spring, stripped gear on door opener, etc.) and provided me with options for just fixing the immediate problem or revamping the garage door mechanisms so they would work better. He said I could get a new opener, but he thought he could fix the problem in the existing one. I opted to have him revamp the garage door to put it in excellent working order so it would last a long time. It is warrantied for 10 years. Dean was able to fix the garage door opener. He completed all the work in about 1.5 hours.

Purchased Angie's list coupon on Saturday afternoon. Called A1 and discussed scheduling and they had a technician at my house at 9am the next morning, Sunday. JD called in advance of his arrival, which was appreciated. Upon arrival he discussed the failure and also talked me through typical scenarios related to garage door problems. He inspected the spring rod bearings, one of which had failed. He replaced the bearings and the springs. He also inspected the opener sprocket and chain and confirmed their condition. Great service and I also learned several things about garage door systems that I did not know before JD's visit.

The service tech did a very good job in removing the old garage door spring and installing a new spring. He also removed the old garage door opener and installed a new garage door opener. He programmed both of our cars to work with our new garage door opener. He also installed an outside keypad that he programmed to work with both our 2 car garage and our one car garage.

He did a great job in fixing both and explaining what the problem was. Also changed rollers to a better quality for $60.

Husband and I just had them replace one of our old garage door openers. (A few months ago we used them to repair a tension spring ,and we thought they were very responsive and reasonable.) After that, we had to call them again when the motor gave out on the opener. We had a small issue with the scheduling, but the owner of the company was extremely helpful in rectifying the problem and making us happy. This Company was very concerned about our experience, they even called later to make sure we were happy with the whole transaction. We are. Thanks guys, nice job.
