A Authentic Garage Door Service

Quoted $150 for install over the phone. Tech arrived 1 hour late. Tech said cost is $400 for repair or $65 service call. Would not recommend.

I don't remember all the details, at this point, other than the technician was punctual and nice. He did offer me several options for repairing my garage door and he did state that the end result could be that due to the mounted pressure, my garage door would cause the frame to start to bulge at the bottom of the door. That has occurred, which is the only reason that I gave them a C rating on the quality and price. I would still recommend their services to others.

The rep provide general maintenance to the garage door...replaced the wheels and lubed. Very professional and knowledgeable. High ratings for that reason. The door (3 years old); however,is still very loud going up/down. Update: 6 months after service I left my trunk open and the garage door did not retract after hitting door, which is what should happen. The motor and belt just grinded. Contacted A Authentic again to look at it. The rep fixed the door and was very professional; however, charged me $65 for a service call for something that should never have happened if it was programmed back in Oct.

Responsiveness, Punctuality, and Professionalism was very good. I will use them again.

The garage door was acting up for about 3 weeks. It would stop closing and would prop open again. Well the garage door finally broke. We could not see what the problem was. We attempted to open the garage door manually but could not seem to get that working either. I was very distraught, we had appointments that we would not be able to keep and needed to reschedule I immediately called Authentic Garage doors. The office rep was very helpful and had someone come out to our home within the next 2 hours.. I have to tell you that I am pleased with this vendor, especially since there was no charge for the fix. They took full responsibility for not installing the spring to a stud in the wall. They did not charge us anything. This is why we will use them again. I do have to mention that the representative that was sent needs to go to customer service class. When I opened the door, I was confronted by an order to move the cars out of the garage. It took me a second to realize who he was. I then mentioned I could not get the garage door open. He said he already did it and walked away. He was at his truck cutting materials when my husband and I approached him. I asked him if he knew why it broke and he told me to calm down. I looked at my husband and walked inside. My husband then asked him if anything else needed to be moved for him and he told him to get out of the garage because it was dangerous. As my husband was going back inside, the representative said that he was not going to be able to fix it. He was going to have to call the guy that came out before (1 year ago). My husband went inside and said to give the rep some space - he seemed overwhelmed. There was a lot of loud bangs and bumps. When he knocked on our garage door, we came out. He was already walking away to his truck when he said it was fixed. I asked if the other parts of the garage door opener looked o.k.. He didn't stop walking and said yes. I asked what did we owe him. He said nothing. Before he drove away, I asked why is there no charge? He said because the job was not completed correctly last year. As he drove down the street, I told my husband, we do not even have a slip to show the work that was done today. I do not even know the individual's name so I can make sure to ask that we do not have him service our garage door in the future. I hope the company does something. This type of experience could result in bad publicity.

I called in response to an add I found to replace my garage door opener for $269. When the repairmen got here he said it would cost significantly more because I had an 8' door and the add said the price was for a 7' door. He said I indicated this in the add. Well, the add did not say the price was for a 7' door. It did have a model number (8355-7) which apparently indicate a 7' door. Well, guess what, the model number mean nothing to me. I told him I did not want to pay the extra pay the extra money and I would find another company to do it. The then told me I had a pay him a service fee just for coming out to my house. I told him I was NOT going to pay a service fee and he told me he would not leave my garage until I paid it. Well, I then proceeded to call the police and while speaking with an officer on the phone his dispatch apparently told him to leave and I cancelled the call with the police. 1) Deceptive add 2) VERY poor customer service I would not recommend this company to anyone.

The garage door was nice and quiet when he first did it but now it is noisy. He was very nice and an expert at replacing the rollers. He did this very quickly. Overall, he a very nice service person named David.

The technician that showed up to my house was very prompt and professional. I called to have my spring replaced that had broken which he replaced quickly but as his work progressed he notified me of additional work that was recommended to help avoid future problems. He was not pushy at all and showed me evidence of the issues he was bringing to my attention when it came to the extra work which I chose to do to avoid any further problems in the near future.

Everything with the service went well. They came out on time for the appointment. They did a good job with the evaluation and the door works well.

needed springs replaced and they came out the same day and took care of it, had my rollers replaced as well and the door runs great

I contacted them and when they came they let us know the previous owners had just had this done. I felt this was very honest on their part. It was easy to reach them and to schedule the appointment. They issued us a credit for future service.

great. I already submitted a review, but Angie's List keeps sending me requests to review and keeps calling me. I'm submitting again to see if I can stop these annoyances.

We weren't planning on replacing our old doors but Rob did the fix for free on the old door and then threw in a new keypad for entry to both doors (we had never been able to use the old one bc apparently it wasn't the correct pad for the type of motors we have) and free painting of the new doors by a sub they use (color match was spot on and the painter, Ricky Owens, was efficient, clean and the good). All work was quality but I did have to make follow-up calls to remind/inform when different steps of the job we're complete. They were very responsive and pleasant once I called. Money was well spent and I like the end result.

I signed up for the service for $89.00 and paid it online. I received confirmation of the payment, and noted that the cable of my garage door is broken and need service for that too. Never heard back from them.

I had a painter because I had my house re-painted and we couldn't open the garage door. He told me exactly what was wrong with it and he said if you call a garage door company, don't let them sell you a new garage door opener. You don't need it. You just need this particular thing repaired. Just this one little part. The guy that came, he was early. I got there 15 minutes early for the appointment and he was already there. He charged me so much money and when I challenged him about it, I said, "You know, I could have bought an entirely new garage door opener for less than what you're charging me." I said I guess I have learned my lesson. I showed him the coupons and he gave me a discount but one of the things he did, the painter told me you need to have this chain oil. He said that I can buy the oil at Walmart for $6 or $7 and I went to Home Depot and asked if they have these little tubes, there were two of them for $7. He said you out it on a rag and then you hold it right here and then open and close the garage door and it will oil itself. It will take less than 5 minutes and it's cheap. Well, he charged me $60 for that. And I can't do it myself because I am 69 and I just can't get on a ladder, it's not for me. He was just excessive. And I am still on that pain of over $200 and I wouldn't use them again ever. I wouldn't recommend them for anything. I felt that I have just been cheated.

When I made the appointment, the person at the office was pleasant. However, when the technician came out to place the keypad, he was unable to sync the keypad to our garage door. A week later, he made another trip out with a different keypad to ensure that the previous one was not defective. After being unable to sync the new keypad, he left without giving any suggestions- kind of giving my husband & I an "oh well" kind of attitude.

This was the scope of the $89 prepaid deal. Also replaced the bottom rubber gasket (extra - at my request). Charged just the material cost for the 16 feet of gasket. Did not charge labor for this. Arrived on time and did the job quickly and professionally. I had used A-Authentic several years ago and will use them again. Did have trouble connecting with them initially when they didn't make the contact for almost a week. When we connected by phone, they explained that their computers had been down, apologized, and quickly scheduled the appointment.

I called for pricing and appointment in the morning, and A Authentic was able to send someone out to me by 1pm the same day. Christopher was on-time, very professional, and explained everything as he was working. Very knowledgeable and personable. He was able to reuse some bearings/parts, and also explained about how certain parts could be upgraded for durability and quietness, which I appreciated. I was *very* impressed by Christopher's quality of work and his attitude. Semper Fi. I will definitely use this company again for any other garage door issues.

Great, it worked for 8 months but now it squeaks again. The technician said it might and he was correct.

EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS!!! Chris arrived within 40 minutes of my speaking on the phone with the office. Remarkably fast response. I purchased the $89 Big Deal for roller replacement. He told me that my rollers were fine and educated me about my garage door. He explained that my rollers did not need to be replaced but he gave me the set of rollers to for me to keep on hand for replacement for the occassional single roller failure. As he didnt need to do this work, he offered to fix a different issue instead. My safety sensors were not installed according to code. He move them to the right location. He also programmed an external garage door opener keypad that I had not been able to program.

He arrived early and did a good job. The door was hitting the rail and he adjusted it to correct the problem. He knew the equipment really well and I have no issues with my garage door.

It turned out good. The technician, Chris, was easy to talk to and did a really good job. He came out here and did what he was supposed to do. He didn’t try to upsell me. I was the one who inquired about additional services. The cost was $1146.88 additionally. It was a great deal! You can’t get that price no matter where you go. They gave me a good price on everything and this included a 5 year warranty. The major issue was communicating via the Angie’s List message center. I didn’t know how the message program worked, but they were very responsive and accommodating. I have already recommended them to others.

Joel came out within an hour of calling and repaired the hung garage door in about half an hour. Very friendly and knowledgable. Great guy, great service! I would highly recommend A-authentic garage door for any of your garage door needs.
