Description of Work: After my mother's death my brother and I were left with her house an it's contents in Arizona. We live in Minnesota. We needed to have some family heirlooms and some antiques and antique furniture brought back to Minnesota. We were going to use PODS or same similar to transport the belongings to Mpls. We would have to load it and then they would move the container for us. In doing an online search my brother found USA Moving. They responded right away. They told my brother that they would load the truck, bring the stuff to Minnesota and unload and reassemble the furniture and the estimate was $1000.00 less then the PODS idea so he went with it. At that point it went from bad to worse. The movers arrived and were very rude. They arrived in an unmarked truck. It didn't say USA Moving or 1st Choice Moving as our paperwork shows. They shoved the paperwork at my brother with no explanation as to what he was signing. My brother had provided a partial list on the phone of what we weretaking. They said fine and also indicated they could take 15 to 20 boxes in addition to the furniture. We packed the boxes accordingly. One of the pieces of furniture was a Library Table built by my grand father. Some how they put computer table on their list. When the movers got to the house to load they said they had a computer table on the list and not a library table the library table will be more money. There were some other furniture items that my brother forgot to tell them about but since we weren't bringing the additional 15 to 20 boxes they allowed we hoped it would be a wash. It wasn't!!!!! They charged us double!!!It went from $1200.00 to $2100.00.!! They said it would take 10 to 15 days to get to Mpls. They said we would have a 24 notice as to when they would arrive. They called but it wasn't a 24 hour notice and they didn't leave a call back number. When they got to my brothers house they again arrived in an unmarked truck and were very rude. They didn't put the furniture back together. They held our belongs hostage and announced that they had to have a certified check for the amount and that a credit card would not due even thought the paperwork we have shows they would use a credit card. When we tried to put the furniture together we found they had lost some of the hardware we needed. The shipping boxes we packed where crushed. We found that the antique furniture was moved laying on it's side and not on its feet. They used tape on our Tiger Oak Table legs that took some of the stain off when we took the tape off to put the table back together. We found out that they took our belongings from the house in Tucson to their warehouse, unloaded the stuff then put it on another truck.. That information was not told to us by the movers or the sales person. We weren't told that they charge by how far they have to walk from the truck to the house. We weren't told we had to have a certified check to get out stuff back from them. They took advantage of us when we were in a vulnerable situation. These people are despicable DO NOT USE THEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Description of Work: They were to come to my home & pack everything to move me from AZ to ND. I had 3/4 of things packed, they came in & foreman immediately looked around one room & said, "you have a lot of stuff to pack, so I have to charge you more". They never even looked in the other rooms yet. He charged me an extra 550.00 over original quote before he would have them do anything. Thankfully I had already packed most of my breakables because after unpacking boxes they packed I was mortified how they just threw EVERYTHING together. somethings not even wrapped. Our last family picture was put in with things from the garage! I was not informed until everything was on truck, papers signed & money given that my items were not leaving that day; as I requested; but was going to a warehouse!!! My things arrived 1 month later & boxes were broken, items banged up & I ended up missing very valuable items. My jewelry which I had gotten from my husband, who passed away 2 1/2 yrs ago, 29 yrs worth.....MISSING! The box I had put these in & other things he had given me are allllll gone! I contacted company and all they have said to me is file a claim. I asked if they could give me names or numbers of people where truck had stopped so I could see if someone else rec'd them or if they could call them. Told I could not, I would have to file a claim. I don't want money!!!!!! I want jewelry that I planned on passing down to my daughters & grand daughter. Now I have NOTHING & this company doesn't care. I told them I had something that wasn't mine & wanted to know what to do with it....their response, "just keep it"!!! They were not friendly & did not do anything I requested....it was the worst experience I have ever had. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.
