No complaints. They arrived on time and serviced the unit as expected. The unit has worked great all summer. No issues.

They were very knowledgeable, and put up with all my questions. Never seemed annoyed. Went out of their way to explain details of what they were doing and why. Never tried to upsell me into something I didn't really need. I learned a lot!

We are new to Arizona and have never had AC before. The technician went over everything in detail. He explained what he was doing and why each step was important. Lots and lots of information. Had a couple of things that may need attention in the future but there was no hard sell in fact it was just the opposite. He gave good recommendations and stated the reasons. He said I could research it on the internet and make my decisions at a later date.

Called in June when we were shopping for new AC Units and got a quote for $3900 (over phone) for a Heil or Carrier 4 Ton 14-SEER unit. (Mention of Angie's List Big Deal) Called back last week in August, left a message that our AC was out. Salesman called back promptly next day then quoted over the phone pricing for similar unit at $4650. Said we had a much lower quote last time and mentioned the Angie's List Big Deal for $3600. Also we said that they hadn't seen our home and how could they give that estimate and the salesman said they used Google Earth. I guess if they've got a system that works for them... it just sounds LOUSY to a customer. Walk us through it, describe it in a different way -- you do this every day, we do not. And while I'm sure it's nothing to you, thousands of dollars is everything to a customer. A little phone-side manner goes a long way. Just let us know, "One tool that we find useful in quoting over the phone that has served us well is Google Earth. It allows us to see the orientation of your house... blah blah blah." Instead of quoting a number and having your customer ask how you arrived at that number. We're not knowledgeable, we just know that there are a lot of scams out there, and we're told to ask a lot of questions, and we want to feel comfortable about our purchases. It literally takes one minute more. Salesman said that for the quote we'd received in June, that was the price of the unit ONLY, and that didn't include labor, no thermostat, no stand, no piping, no drain pipe and no consideration was made for a Gas Heater. I get a really bait-and-switch-ey vibe here.. I look at the Angie's list BIG DEAL, I see it's $3600 and then I note NOT ONE review got a unit for that price, or anywhere close to it this summer. So, what gives? While It's up to a business how they'd like to set pricing and do their marketing, I would NOT put a misleading Angie's List Coupon for $3600 and make people buy it first. Putting people in crisis when their AC is out (this is what we reported on second, much higher quote) is not the right thing to do. Luckily, we have a Frigidaire Wall Unit in our great room that is rated for 1000 Sq Feet in a 1600 Sq Feet Home. So although we report our AC doesn't work, we can hole up here for the rest of summer. PASS. UPDATE: Have had similar quotes from other companies for similar units. So while the pricing for the updated "quote" seems okay, the means to the quote were such a turn off coupled with the wildly fluctuating what's included and what's not, it's just a bad experience and although losing our business is nothing to an A list company, I thought that it was important to report how our experience went.

Overall it went great. Shawn arrived within the time window provided - he even called prior to arriving. Shawn explained things very well and did a nice job.

It went very well. They found a couple of things that needed replaced. Very punctual and communicated well.

Bought the deal on Angie's list. I think they are okay but not that detailed.

Fine except tried to upsell to some backup switch also.

He was running late for our appointment but did call and I was OK with meeting a little later. What impressed me was that he said since the unit is currently running effectively he wouldn't suggest replacing it at this time. He suggesting calling back in October to have the unit serviced. I will call them back at that time. There was no hard sell or up-selling and I really do appreciate that he said not to replace the unit. If I do need to replace it in the future I will contact them for that too. My thanks!

He came out and checked out the unit. He tells my boyfriend that it's going to be $90 a pound for the Freon. According to the Big Deal that I purchased, I get one pound of Freon. Apparently my unit takes a different kind of Freon than what the special offers. At no point did Sun Devil ask about the age of my A/C or educate me about different types of Freon. The technician told me that units year 2000 and older take a different type and that it would be $255 in addition to what I paid for the Big Deal. He took my garden hose, hosed my unit off and said that he was done.

Everything went great. They were prompt, on time and took care of everything as agreed. They treated us great when they were here.

At first it seemed like everything was going ok but when I mentioned the last a/c service company tech tried to sell me a evaporator fan he took the top off to check it to see if he could sell me one. Then he tore off a 1 foot section of insulation on the copper pipe leading into the house and DID NOT REPLACE IT saying oh you don't need that (so why was it put on?) then I explained it sometimes makes a groaning sound when starting, he suggested I put on a starting booster at a cost of $275 . I tried to explain to him I didn't have the extra money right now and he got upset and said I been in this business for years And I hear that all the time ,you just don't want to do it! Don't you have a credit card! Then he went into the attic to check the air handler it sounded like he was tearing the unit apart after completing his inspection he said everything is good but I would suggest putting a condensation safety system on the unit! And then the scare tactic comes in to play because if you don't and it backs up ooooh! The damage that's going to do to your home! Yes he did check my system! But he did not clean the evaporator cooling fins like the ad said he would nor did he replace the pipe insulation he tore off! After he left it really felt like I had paid $40 for a high pressure sales pitch! I don't know about the sun , but it sure felt like the devil had paid a visit! NEVER again will I use nor recommend them !

It went well, Shawn was great. Did check up and explained what he did and what/why part needed to be replaced.

I wasn't really happy with them. I had a couple of bad elements with my experience with them (Sun Devil). The most notable which was the fact that the problem I called them out to investigate they failed to correctly diagnose and that problem became worse later and cost me a substantial amount of money. The second A/C repair vender did a great job of correctly diagnosing and repairing the problem and basically it was a problem of a loose fan or blow assembly which because it wasn't tightened up led to the failure of the unit and had to be replaced.

Arrived promptly and completed work on schedule. Explained service being performed. Very professional.

The service tech Shawn was great. Called ahead and showed up on time. Did a very complete check of the units and offered some additional service to help my aging units with no high pressure sales. It was a very positive service experience and I would highly recommend them !!

I have purchased tune up service from angie's list for both units. $39 for 1) a 31point full system evaluation 2) A condenser coil cleaning 3) Up to one pound of R410a 4) A condensation drain line flush 5) A/C filter replacement (filter supplied by home owner) One time 15% discount on repairs Deal valid for one forced air unit (buy up to three per home). The technician Elmo arrived promptly and began running tests on both units. Immediately point out one of the unit is low on refrigerant. Then he continue to proceed his diagnostic test on the rest of the units. Based on the low refrigerant he point out there is a leak in the system. Then he went up in the attic and point out the coils from the attic is leaking. Then he finished his paperwork and said he is finished with his job. I asked whether he will perform the condenser coil cleaning and drain line flush as described in the deal, he said it is not going to help which meant he was not going to do it in the first place. Then I signed the work order performed sheet and he proceed to leave. I again had to ask if I get to get any paperwork to show the work performed, he then said he doesn't provide any paper work. Later he realized he is supposed to give me the carbon copy of the paper I signed and then gave me that copy before he left. Basically, the technician showed up to just run diagnostic test and tried to up sell more service. Did not performed most of the tune up items as described.

Elmo arrived on time. he was friendly and got right to work. He recommend I get a Serge Protector and and a Start Assist Kit. He gave a through explained what each of these would do. I am considering these options and if I decide to get them I will certainly use Sun Devil Heating and Cooling for the job. Elmo did an expert check up and I am very Happy with the work.

HE WAS VERY POLITE and kept us well informed along the way. At one point, he could not get the fan blade off of its' shaft, so he went back to the shop for help. There was no charges for that and he gave us a $200 discount as Angie's Club Members.

I purchased two Angie's list special $39 tune-ups, one for each A/C unit. The tech was on time and very nice. He cleaned and tuned up both units and didn't try to sell me anything.
