I've used HILCO for the last couple of years to maintain my heating and A/C units. I called them and they scheduled an appointment with Nick who services my units for the next morning. Nick was on time and he verified the drain was not plugged and cleaned the drain pan. I'm in the process of selling my house and appreciated the quick response. I've always been happy with the service I've received from this company.

THE EXPERIENCE WAS WONDERFUL. THEY WERE PUNCTUAL, PROFESSIONAL AND VERY DETAIL-ORIENTED. THE DAY THEY INSTALLED THE UNITS WAS 110 DEGREES AND THEY NEVER COMPLAINED ABOUT ANYTHING, BUT WERE QUITE HAPPY ONCE THE OLD FURNACE AND AIR HANDLER WERE OUT OF THE ATTIC AND THE NEW ONES WERE INSTALLED. THE A/C UNIT ITSELF WAS RELATIVELY SIMPLE FOR THEM, AND IT WAS A LOT COOLER OUTSIDE AT 110 DEGREES THEN THE ATTIC HAD BEEN. I CONTINUE TO USE HILCO FOR TWICE-YEARLY SYSTEM CHECK-UPS, ONE FOR THE A/C AND ONE FOR THE FURNACE. I CONTINUE TO BE HAPPY WITH ALL ASPECTS OF THE SERVICE AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. THE UNIT WAS QUITE EXPENSIVE, BUT I AM EVEN GIVING THEM AN ''A'' ON PRICE BECAUSE OF THE VALUE RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE FOR THE WORK. MY MONTHLY PRO-RATED POWER BILL HAS DROPPED FROM $173.00 TO $100.00, AND THE HOUSE IS MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE AND THE AC UNIT IS MUCH, MUCH QUIETER.
Description of Work: I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY A/C UNIT THAT HAD BEEN THE ORIGINAL A/C IN THE 7 YEAR OLD HOUSE. THE HOME WARRANTY FOLKS HAD SENT HILCO OUT TO FIX THE UNIT. WHILE THEY WERE HERE THEY CHECKED THE UNIT AND FOUND THAT THE AMP DRAW WAS WAY TO HIGH AND PREDICTED THE UNIT WOULD FAIL VERY, VERY SOON. THE SEER RATING OF THE UNIT WAS 8-9. I DID NOT WANT TO THROW GOOD MONEY INTO A BAD UNIT, SO WE DISCUSSED NEW UNITS OVER A PERIOD OF A FEW DAYS, SPECIFICALLY UNITS MANUFACTURED BY TRANE. I WAS SETTLING ON A 14 SEER UNIT BUT WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE 19 SEER UNIT. WHEN I WAS FINISHED I HAD BASICALLY SOLD MYSELF ON A TRANE XL19I AND BECAUSE OF SYSTEM MATCHING ISSUES I ALSO REPLACED THE FURNACE AND AIR HANDLER. THE WORK ENDED UP BEING THE INSTALLATION OF A TRANE XL19I SYSTEM, ALONG WITH THEIR MATCHING FURNACE AND AIR HANDLER. THIS ALSO INCLUDED REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF ALL EXISTING HVAC EQUIPMENT.

THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIVE AT ALL. THE COOLER WAS VERY POORLY INSTALLED. THERE IS NOW NO WAY TO SWITCH FROM A/C TO EVAP WITHOUT GOING UP ON THE ROOF TO UNHOOK THE WATER LINE TO PUT THE BAFFLE IN. I AM 65 YEARS OLD AN MUST HIRE SOMEONE TO DO THIS FOR ME. THEIR SUPERVISOR WAS SNOTTY.

THEY CAME IN AND COVERED UP THE AREA BELOW THE ATTIC OPENING SO NOT TO GET INSULATION ON ANYTHING. THEY WERE PROMPT, CAME IN AND DID THE JOB AND LEFT THE HOUSE CLEAN. THE DID THE JOB RIGHT THE 1ST TIME.

THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND TIMELY. THE OFFICE STAFF ALONG WITH THE GUYS THAT ACTUALLY CAME TO MY HOME WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND EASY TO DEAL WITH. I ALSO CALLED THEM FOR A TUNE UP THE FOLLOWING YEAR, AGAIN, THEY WERE HELPFUL AND GREAT TO DEAL WITH. WHEN I CALLED FOR THE TUNEUP, THEY WORKED THE PRICE TO INCLUDE A SPECIAL DEAL. I WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEM TO SERVICE MY HOME AND I WILL RECOMMEND TO OTHERS.

THE SHARPEST TECHNICIAN I'VE HAD AT THIS HOME. THE PERSON SOLVED THE PROBLEM WE HAD AND IMMEDIATELY HAD THE UNIT WORKING WHILE WE WAITED FOR OTHER PARTS. HE WAS COURTEOUS,VERY PROFESSIONAL AND SKILLED. YOU COULD NOT ASK FOR BETTER SERVICE. ON ANOTHER OCCASION THERE WAS NOISE COMING FROM SOUTH A/C UNIT. HE FOUND THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE COMPRESSOR BEARINGS BUT THE UNIT WAS WORKING OK. HE REPORTED IT TO MY HOME WARRANTY INSURANCE COMPANY.
Description of Work: THIS CONTRACTOR WAS PROVIDED BY MY HOME WARRANTY INSURANCE. THERE WAS NO COOLING FROM OUR NORTH A/C UNIT ALREADY TROUBLESHOT BY A DIFFERENT CONTRACTOR THAT COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THIS REPAIRMAN FOUND THE CAUSE AND ALSO FOUND PLAN IN THE MOTOR BEARINGS. HE RECOMMENDED THE FAN MOTOR BE REPLACED(UPON APPROVAL FROM INSURANCE CO). THIS GUY WAS A REAL PROFESSIONAL WORKER AND TROUBLESHOOTER. HE WAS COURTEOUS AND PROMPT. HE SOLVED THE PROBLEM IN MINIMUM TIME AND HE BY-PASSED A RESET BUTTON AND HAD THE A/C WORKING.
