Agape Turf / Arizona Turf Depot

After much searching and interviewing of several landscape turf companies, we hired Agape Turf and very happy we did. After the initial phone call to the Arizona Turf Depot where we spoke with Matt, he came out to the house within 3 hours of the phone call in order to survey the project and provide us with information regarding the scope of project and types of turf we should consider. He was very knowledgeable and provided us with samples of all grades of turf. We had a very large area ~ 5000 sq ft, so he suggested ways of saving costs by turning some areas of existing grass into desert scape rather than covering them with new turf which is significantly more expensive than turf. We had already contacted at least 3 other companies, most of which took several days to get back to us, and who finally came out to quote the project, but required several follow-up phone calls from us in order to get the quote. Our initial interaction with Arizona Turf Depot was completely different and their follow-up was amazing. Matt was very willing to negotiate their prices to stay within our budget, especially given the large scope of our project. Once the contract was signed and 50% deposit paid, we were transferred to Devin the scheduling coordinator who then took over. We thought Matt's communication was good, but realized that Devin's was even better. She coordinated the entire job and kept us in the loop via email and phone calls every step of the way. The actual project included: 1) Removal of existing grass after application of weed killer. They waited at least 1 week to ensure that the grass was dead in order to prevent regrowth after removal and the synthetic turf was applied. 2) Leveling of soil and preparation of land for new turf 3) Removal of old brick curbing and installation of new curbing of our choice. They subcontract this part of it to another curbing company who was equally as professional. The day they were initially scheduled to come out to install the cement curbing, they showed up with their full crew at 6:00 am, however, the job supervisor was very weary of the impending weather since it was cloudy and although the forecast didn't call for rain, he was concerned that it may rain and curbing needed to stay dry for at least 4 hours and he wasn't a big fan of covering it with plastic since it may cause discoloration. The curbing company supervisor decided to voluntarily call off the installation and left with his crew. Forty-five minutes later, it had started to rain. They waited for a completely clear day and returned and installed the curbing which was done very professionally and looked great. 4) Agape Turf then proceeded to lay down ground granite followed by weed cloth barrier. 5) The final installation of the turf was then completed along with the placement of rock in the other part of the yard. 6) Clean up was immaculate including power washing of our driveway where the tractors had left some tire tracks. Luis was the on site job supervisor and he was a stickler for details. He refused to cut any corners and was a perfectionist. He and his team worked long 11-12 hour days to complete the work in the time frame they had committed to. Luis even repaired some of the turf we had done previously by another company several years ago in our backyard that was coming up. We were out of town when the crew completed the job over the weekend and even received unsolicited phone calls from our neighbors remarking on how great our lawn looked! We give this company our highest recommendation with no reservations and would hire them again if we ever needed more turf, which hopefully we never will.
