Excellent from start to finish. Ken, owner, was detailed with his paper work. His workers were timely and detailed in their finish work. They were flexible as needed for the project to meet my needs. All were pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend them.

I wanted a good looking and secure gate to match the exterior of my home. Ken was prompt and professional in giving me his estimate. I told him what I wanted and he advised me of the best colors and lock for the gate. His crew came within the week and installed the gate. They were timely and thorough. The gate is exactly what I was hoping for! I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional and well made gate or fences. After installation, the gates swung the wrong way. Ken blamed me for ok'ing the drawing; fair enough as I should have noticed it. But one would think that he would draw them to swing in the obvious correct direction. I had to pay more to fix. Then, less than 2 years later, the locks have become difficult to turn, despite maintenance, and the screws are rusting. I have left two voicemail messages one week apart and he has not returned the call. Otherwise, the gates are fine and he is decent guy to work with IF he decides to return your call. No way to treat a paying customer, don't you think?

We did have a little problem with their masonry people putting the broken up concrete in an alley trash can. The city caught them doing it and they had to come back and take it all out. I think the fence company just hired these masonry people. They did columns for us, the columns we had were too weak to hold the gate. Overall, the fence and everybody that installed the fence it was excellent. I'm going to give them an excellent, their estimator and everybody that was connected with the company, except for the, I think they learned their lesson, mason people. I'm going to give them an excellent. Well I had quite a few estimates from other companies and what I wanted done was custom. So I think I got a good deal. Responsiveness, absolutely and "A". Except for that slight problem with the Mason people I'd give them an "A" for professionalism. Absolutely would use them again, we are going to get two smaller gates in a couple months from them. I went through a lot of people and estimates to find these people, to find professionals. I'm happy with them.

Terrible. I called and spoke with Ken. Explained that I needed 2 gates for a pool that was being installed therefore it needed to be able to be locked. Handles were $95 extra for each each. Problem....handles they put on did not have a lock so not pool compliant even though the estimate Ken gave me clearly said "latch was to be one hole lockbox w/double sided wave handle". I would have been OK with the incorrect handle if they welded 2 metal tabs with a hole so padlock could be put on each gate but there was none. Ken came out and replaced the handle - but not with lockable handle. He replaces it with ONLY a deadbolt. So now I have 2 gates are complaint with pool regulations but no handle to open them. He said he could put on handles with locks but it will cost me $350 for each ($700 on top of the $195 I already paid him for the handles)!! What a scam!!! I told him to put back on the handles that I all ready paid him for. I will find a welder to put on 2 metal tabs so it can be padlocked.

I coordinated this repair from 2200 miles away in Michigan after a complaint from my HOA about a very rusted fence. I was amazed how fast things happened after speaking withKen Munson on the phone. He was able to inspect the job site that day and I had a e mail quote by the next morning. The job was completed in 4 weeks including the permit process, which included Ken picking up my permit paperwork at the HOA . The price was very fair and the service was great !! Give them call, you won't be sorry.

Sales agent responsive to questions, made reasonable suggestions (some of which saved money), met with us several times to finalize details. Work was performed by a crew of 3 in one day (after factory prefab) with on-site bending of sections to follow curves of patio; they made corrections and immediate touch-up of paint spots after my inspection until I was completely satisfied. Very pleased overall.

Ken installed 2 RV gates and a fence panel and I couldn't be happier. He is the most responsive, upfront, and honest businessman I've met yet. Hiring him was the best decision I've ever made. We had our gates installed about 6 months ago and one of the gates started to sag a bit. I emailed him about the problem and he responded within 5 min, his crew was out the next day and fixed the issue for free. This guy is top notch.

Excellent. Sun King Fencing & Gates did a top notch job. The gates are beautiful. That sure do enhance the look of the property. Ken was great. Kept me informed all the time. The fabricator and installer (Benny) did a great job.

Ken was amazing. It was a small job which no other company would even come look at to give me an estimate. I told him I had 3 small children and the post had rotted through on the bottom, which could easily be pushed over, giving the kids access to the pool. He gave me an estimate the next day and the job was done within a week! Workers that replaced it were quick, thorough, and professional.

Cannot say enough about how wonderful owner Ken and his talented crew are. We have a very strict HOA, and Ken helped us work through the process with humor and creativity. The installation was done right on time, right on budget, and it looks beautiful. We installed it for utilitarian purposes, but it has really enhanced the look of our small backyard and patio, thanks to a thoughtful and well executed design. This was a rather unusual project because if the curvy wall and a rock water feature. It looks fantastic, and the workmanship is impeccable. We will be calling them again when we are ready to build a courtyard gate.

Working with Ken was a delight. He is incredibly kind, professional, quick, and honest. Workers were on-time, polite, and worked quickly.

I received a competitive estimate so I went forward with Sun King. Initially went well and Ken (owner) was very responsive and easy to get in touch with. I have an electric release strike plate for the gate and though Ken admitted having no prior experience with this type of lock, I was reassured this would not be a problem. This lead lead to a month delay in finding the proper lock and fitting for the gate. I had an initial install date of April 20 and the job was not completed until May 25. The cost of the gate also increased by $600 making the job more costly than some other estimates I received. Ken gave the initial bid based on a certain type of lock/handle despite knowing about the electric strike plate. He then had to order a different lock so the gate would work and this cost was passed on to me even though the mistake was due to his inexperience. The delays and increase in cost were acceptable given that Ken was very communicative during the process and up front with his lack of experience having only owned the business for a year and a half. My main complaint is with the finish and color of the gate. When I had the initial consultation, I was given my options on gate color. Ken does not carry a black sample with him and did not mention the ability to color match any existing color until after the installation. Having no prior experience, I asked Ken for his recommendation and he said the dark brown would be the option that would go best with the house (even with some existing black iron work on the house). When the gate was installed, the "dark" brown was obviously very brown next to the existing black iron. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the color but he felt no obligation to refinish the gate despite the color being his recommendation AND that he did not have a black sample to show me AND never gave me the option for a color match. He simply gave me information for another company that could repaint the gate and proceeded to closeout and charge me the remaining balance. Even though Ken was easy to deal with and very accessible, his lack of experience lead to delays, increase in cost, and a finished product that did not match well with the house. Although he admits to this, he claims no obligation to make the job right. I will now likely incur more costs to repaint the gate which will likely make the job more expensive than all the other bids that I received.

Professional and overall good experience. I would have preferred to pay with debit card, it took a week for check to clear. They did schedule quicker than other companies. Ken answers phone quickly.

Overall I was very happy with the price and the quality of work performed. I would recommend Sunking fencing

It was the best experience ever. Monte came out to the house on time. We looked at the area where we wanted the gate. He brought a binder with a ton of pictures and options. He listened to us, gave suggestions. He emailed me that day with a quote. When I called him, he actually answered the phone. He did everything he said he was going to do. The gate is beautiful; was exactly as we expected. I would definitely recommend these guys. You will not be disappointed.

2 yrs ago I moved to a home in AZ with a beautiful pool and because there were no young children around, a pool gate was not necessary. This year I have a 1 yr old grandchild and safety became my 1st priority. As I always do, I got on Angies List and after reviewing found Sun King Fencing & Gates located in Mesa. Monte came to my home and I was very impressed with his politeness, knowledge and professionalism. Once the gates were made, the workers arrived on time with all the pieces and kept working until it was completed. They looked over the whole fence and did a few touch-up spray painting on a few spots. Thank you Monte for making this project enjoyable and stress-free. Great Job!!!!

The owner, Monte was very responsive and professional. He came out to do an estimate and didn't try to up sell on decorative fencing. I was about to close on my house that didn't have a pool barrier and explained that I couldn't move in until the fence was in. He made sure everything was taken care of in plenty of time. Also did a wonderful job on curving the fence to make it look more appealing. I will be calling him when I am ready to take on the rv gate. recommend to everyone.

Sun King Fencing & Gates is an A+. They did exactly what needed to be done. The gates had to be a certain type, they did it the exact color to match the other gates and they did a great job. I think it's a reasonable price, I don't remember what it was, my husband usually dealt that for me. They came in, took out the old fence and the built an entire whole new fence. The quality of work is excellent. They were fabulous; really great. I didn't work with them much at all, it was mostly just how I met them and stuff. I know that the owner had come out a few times just to make sure that everything is done exactly the way we discussed the gate and that my husband wanted. One of the neat things about it was that they didn't say, we'll catch you later. They will constantly give you updates and email back and forth on updates and stuff and any changes and just reconfirm things. Their communication skills were wonderful. That's what my husband really likes, is he was involved in the whole process, it was just all together as a team working. I know my husband said, with the scope of what they did, it was really a good price. I will absolutely use them again. I told them make sure I keep a couple of business cards of theirs so if we ever need them again. They really, really are the best. They go out of their way to keep up the communication back and forth with themselves. They made it like my husband and them was part of the team working together to get it done or to come up with new design. They listened very closely to what he was looking at and then they say, now we can do this or that and it worked out really well.

The owner came out initially to scope out the job and to take measurements so that he could provide a reliable estimate. He came out again at the beginning of the installation so we could discuss the precise route of the fencing. I watched the workers for a while and I could see that they were careful with details such as having each of the posts exactly vertical, and setting up the three curved sections so they blended in well with the straight parts. Based on comparisons with what other bidders of this job said that they would do, I consider the Sun King fence to be the "Cadillac" of pool fences.

The entire process was very quick (gate measurement, selection of metal & wood colors, etc) Monte clearly knows what he's doing and doesn't try to up sell you on anything. There were no issues or surprises and the end results were fantastic. The price was very reasonable compared to other quotes, the workmanship was excellent and the workers cleaned up everything before leaving the premises.

Monte came out for the initial assessment and returned with his worker for the final measurement before fabricating the gate. Looks really nice with an Arch, works well and the price did not change when i said I was concerned about the support it had on the attached free standing wall. The employee called Monte, said he would be back with a wheel, promptly returned, installed it and all is great. My neighbor also likes the job and plans on calling Sun King to replace his gate.

When they came to do the replacements, they were originally unable to move the original post of the gate in the confined space, so they offset the gate about 10 inches. I came home when they were still working on it. It did not look good because the gate was offset from the pathway by ~6 inches. I called Monte to have this fixed. He was concerned about the situation because the original foundation of the post was below the concrete slabs. He did not want to create a bigger problem for me than we already had. I offered to find someone who removed foundations professionally so he wouldn't have the liability. At this point, I didn't want him to have to lose any more money, but he wanted to keep the gate in place for safety reasons. However, after talking to his foreman, his foreman was convinced he could manage the situation, which he eventually did. They were able to finish the project the same day without any problems. The final product was beautiful I wanted to detail what happened above to point something out: despite the difficulties, Monte was extremely professional throughout, never became upset, but just worked with me in a very reasonable manner to problem-solve the situation. It was not an ideal situation, which he was concerned about from the beginning. But we were able to problem-solve a non-ideal situation in a very effective way with an excellent outcome. |Would definitely work with him again.
