+ 3 moreRich is $50/hr plus materials. He does a good job but takes his time, so final price might be higher than expected since he's hourly. He has 20+ years in construction and cares about his work. Rich executed my idea of making my standard doorways look like arched doorways that were trimmed in wood on the outside of the arch as well as on the inside. I had a doorway from the DR into the FR that now is arched, 40" wide and 8 feet tall lined with luan to look like a custom wood doorway with flex molding to trim the outside of the doorway. The other doorway was into the hall and was hard to do as there was an A/C vent a few inches over the top of it, but he made it look like the first one, but not as wide or as tall. I had Rich cut into the foyer wall and use the back of the BR wall as the back of the niche which is 4 feet high, arched & trimmed with flex molding. He also fixed the drywall botched by another contractor when a doorway was enclosed. Would never know a doorway had been there.
Description of Work: Widened interior doorway, made it taller, arched it and trimmed it with luan on the inside of the arch and with flex molding (I supplied) on the outside edges. He made another interior doorway look like an arched doorway to match the first one (this one couldn't be widened or made taller). He created an arched niche in the wall of my foyer and trimmed it with molding on the outside to match the 2 doorways. All 3 of these are visible at the same time when standing in the open area of the foyer/living room/dining room. He also fixed the drywall in the dining room and the family room where another contractor closed up a doorway. He did the drywall texturing as well. He's very good at what he does.
