Small Move Specialist

Things went great. The movers called to tell me they were on their way so I did not have to wait for them. They were waiting for me when I got to the house. They carefully and promptly removed the chair from the house, loaded it onto the flat bed and drove to Mesa. Upon arrival, they unloaded the chair and took it to his apartment and even moved an existing chair to the bedroom so the recliner could go exactly where Dad wanted it.

Excellent. The service was better than I expected. The two man crew showed up early and got us to the new location right on time. All pieces of furniture were completely protected and secured for the short 8 mile trip. We couldn't have made the move without them. Thanks to Darryn at ABC Small Move Specialists, our experience was better than we ever expected. Darryn was able to schedule a crew for our move on a very short notice. The crew was very capable of the job and were very professional. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone if you have a small move. I will use them again in the future.

Everything went smoothly. They loaded and unloaded our furniture and office equipment in a very professional and punctual manner. They were fast and did their work well. The price was right and I would definitely use the again.

This is the 2nd time I've relied on Small Move Specialists and I'm so glad Darryn & crew are still out there because I'll probably end up using them for at least a 3rd time as well. As anyone who's the caregiver for an aging parent can tell you, situations change fast. I needed furniture moved to the bottom floor of a townhouse and Small Move Specialists were just as reliable and trustworthy (and speedy) as I remember from the first time I used them. Good people. Don't go anywhere, Darryn. I appreciate having you to rely on.

From the first contact, my calls were promptly returned. I had a pick up date scheduled and furniture moved within just a few days. Appointments were on time and the cost quoted was accurate. All items arrived in excellent condition. The owner and work crew were personable and professional. I highly recommend their services and would definitely hire them again.

I had some moving that I wanted to do that involved various appliances. Darryn at Small Moves did a great job and his guys handled my appliances with care . My friend recommended this company purely based on reviews online and the fact that they specialize in small moves and that they are insured. I contacted Darryn about a week ago with an estimate in mind of what I would pay for the whole move. He was the first I called and after discussing the plan, he quoted me $60 cheaper than my estimate. I scheduled yesterday to be the day for the move and it was completed without any problems. Darryn gave me a 30 minutes heads up an he was very professional in his dealings and I was happy to see the business owner putting his back (literally) into his work. The skill set and knowledge was visible right away. They covered up the appliances as required and transported it to the locations specified. Everything was done to complete satisfaction. The whole move was completed in about 3 hours. I highly recommend this company and they earned a happy customer that will recommend and contacting them in the future with no hesitation.

When the movers arrived, the owner parked his large pickup half in the drive way leaving his towed car carrier trailer sticking out in the street. This made it difficult for cars passing to get by his trailer. At the start of the move, the mover (owner) acted visibily annoyed that he was moving our furniture. He and his crew (2 men and a young boy) treated the furniture very roughly resulting in scratching my wooden sleigh bed. The movers did not tell me about the damage, but I noticed it after they left. I couldn't wait until they were out of my house. I definately WOULD NOT recommend them for your moving needs.

It could not have gone better. This was a somewhat unusual move in that I was able to arrange it 2 weeks before we left Wisconsin for Arizona. How was I able to do this? Angie's List of course. I needed a small move firm to do the job and in about 3 clicks I found Small Move Specialists in Mesa, AZ. Talk about the right guys for the job, Darryn Ruzicka and his team handled the move perfectly - from scheduling through the move itself. It was a fairly small job but it consisted of such a variety of items that the fact that everything was moved safely and efficiently earned a big thank you from me. And a big thank you to Angie's List, too. When we return to Wisconsin in April, we're going to use Small Move Specialists to do the reverse move.

They politely moved it into its current location. The furniture was well protected and moved professionally. Not a scratch on it, thank you for your care.

This move has been complicated by the disposition of estate objects, and the need to store some items rather than move them from point A to point B. Darren seems to be the only mover in the area that doesn't huff and puff about a stop to deliver items between two points, Will be using him three times before this move is 100% complete. Very satisfied.

the two men were on time, careful securing the items, and transported it quickly to the new location. I was able to schedule within 24 hours, which is amazing for a moving company.

Job done without problems. The business end was flawless: i.e. price, timing and terms were as agreed. The main guy was on crutches (temporary thing, I'm sure he will be better soon) and was therefore only verbally directing the crew who were new to this. The owner clearly knew how to move pianos, but the equipment seemed sparse: aside from a piano dolly, a moving blanket, shrinkwrap, straps, and a landscaper-type trailer, there were no other special pieces of equipment - no heavy pads, etc. that I'd seen other piano movers use. My piano essentially rode directly on the bare wood bed of a trailer, nothing but the trailer's own suspension to dampen road vibrations. Oh well, it needed tuning anyway. I would recommend for inexpensive pianos, but not for highly valuable ones.

I called Small Move Specialist and asked if they could move a copier from one building to another (across a parking lot, maybe 1,000 ft). It's a large copier and very delicate, so we had no way of moving it on our own. They asked questions about the copier and said it would not be a problem.They asked when I needed the copier moved and I said anytime within the next week or so. What I liked is they offered to save me money on the move if I was flexible on the dates, and they did. They were able to charge less by doing my small move on the same day as other moves in my area (as it would cost them less in fuel if they didn't make a trip out for just me). They showed up on time, were very professional, and moved everything with no problems at all. I was impressed with their knowledge of how to move a copier as I had no idea that there was a special brace on the bottom that is used for that purpose. I will definitely use them again (for home and business).

I contacted Darryn via e-mail after reading so many fantastic reviews on-line. He responded promptly to all of my messages and was a true professional every step of the way. Unfortunately, Darryn was very sick with bronchitis the day of the move but that didn't prevent him from showing up on time and doing a fantastic job. I'm glad I listened to all the great reviews and decided to contact him. I highly recommend Darryn and now know who I will be calling for my next move.

I am so relieved to have this taken care of in less than 24 hours after contacting Small Move Specialists. The overall experience was excellent.

This vendor is a quality guy. We discussed the move and he was cautious about moving a large, heavy and expensive item. I email pictures to him and he said he would be reluctant to move it with all the glass items attached to the top. We agreed that I would go over to the owner's house and disassemble some of the parts to make it safer to move. Once I got going with disassembly, I found it easy and fun to take it apart. After removing most of the parts, the base seemed to be easy enough to move by myself. My wife and I were able to move it, but now her back is sore so we probably should have had the movers do it after all. Although they did not actually perform the services, they had the integrity to be cautious in what and how they would move a fragile item instead of just showing up and taking a stab at it. They did not get any money for this gig, but they did get a nice review. I would call them again if i needed to move something heavy.

Wow, my experience couldn’t be more different than these last two reviewers. For me, finding Darryn’s Small Moves Specialist was worth the price of admission to Angie’s List. A couple of years ago my mother moved to Arizona, bringing 3 generations of furniture with her. We've had to move things around, redistribute the furniture. I've been looking for a small moves professional who can help with these moves because friends and family are less than enthused about the process. I needed a daybed moved from one house to another, the houses are close together, but the daybed is a heavy mahogany thing with double foam mattresses. Darryn had to take the daybed apart, and lug the foam mattresses in the heat, but the move was done quickly and professionally, with the daybed solidly reassembled at its destination. During the scheduling process, Darryn kept in touch by phone, worked with me to get the job done promptly and economically. I found him to be conscientious, responsible and honorable. Thanks, Darryn – it's a relief to finally find someone I can hire to do these moves.

I received a call on my cell at nearly 10pm on 8/3 from Daryn that went into my voicemail. Seeing that it was his number, I got concerned and called him back and got his voicemail. Meanwhile, I receive a voicemail from him which said something to the effect that I told him my home was in "Central Phoenix" and it's too far to go for what I paid him and that "if you want to give me $50.00 more" basically he'd consider doing the job in the morning and I'm paraphrasing here but not about this request for more money...that my friends was a direct quote. Suffice it to say, he cancelled on me in the 11th. hour as they say. Even more appalling he tried to hold me hostage for more money to do a job he already committed to earlier in the week for which I sent payment. Although I said a few choice words which I am not proud of, I absolutely couldn't believe a true business man commits to a job and then would wait that many days to look up the addresses to see how far the "job" is from his house. In addition, I couldn't believe he tried to blame me by insinuating I told him the job was in Central Phoenix given I'm not from the area...I don't even know what or where Central Phoenix is!!!! To add insult to injury I had to pay my bank $15.00 to put a stop payment on the check I'd sent him. Not sure how this man's company received any A ratings to be honest, but if you decide to use him, beware particularly for those who summer out of state and need to count on people to do what they say they're going to do when they say they're going to do it.

Some furniture was scratched and most of all the stairs had scratches and wall peel off marks after the move.They did say they would come back and fix it once we settle down but nobody called back so far. But they gave us good quote and were very punctual.

Darryn did a great job both times. Even though he was running behind today, he called ahead to let me know. Once he arrived, he worked quickly and carefully to disassemble the desk. At my house, he was able to get all the pieces put back together perfectly. He is professional, efficient, and kind. I would recommend him to any of my friends.
