Semper Fi Heating & Cooling

Do not use these guys - unless you want to be ripped off. I found their marketing and sales approach deceptive and a bit sleezy. Semper Fi was advertising a free AC 'tuneup'. We just bought a house and thought I'd give them a shot. The technician looked at the AC unit, took some photos, and then came in telling me that the unit is one of the worst ones he's ever seen. He kept showing me a picture of a component and saying that 'according to the manufacturer, this component is considered failing'. After a lot of discussion, I asked him directly what did he do to the unit for the tuneup promised. He admitted that they only took pictures and looked at things... but did not do any tuneup. The technician put a hard sales pitch for me to buy a new AC unit that night for ~$14,000. I just replaced another AC unit at a different house 2 months ago with a bigger/better unit for under $10k. I got a second quote for the exact same unit Semper Fi quoted me for under $8k.

Go with Parker & Sons! We hired Semper Fi a few weeks ago and bought the $17k unit for our 1200 sqft home in Gilbert. It's been leaking water onto our roof ever since they installed it. They keep giving us the run around and sending unqualified people out who say they fix it but it's not. All of their stories on what's going on are mixed up between themselves. I'll be leaving reviews in every possible place for these guys. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

Do not use this company terrible service never return your calls. We are not satisfied with the work performed on our system. We had our ac and heating unit replaced on June 26 2024 it took the install crew from 9:20am till 11:25pm to complete the job and seemed they had some issues. When they finally turned the unit on we noticed a loud rattling noise coming from the unit in the attic that night. When we called in the morning 6/27/24 they sent out the install manager he made us aware the drip pan was installed improperly causing the noise and needed to be fixed he also noted the duct work had many restrictions and also issues with the dampers that needed to be fixed he also had to add more freon to the system. Since then after numerous calls to SemperFi and told we would have someone contact us no one has reached out to us to make the repairs, we are very disappointed and dissatisfied with the workmanship and lack of professionalism. Reason for using your company is my wife was military and suggested SemperFi now regretting that choice.

I had a new unit installed roughly 23 days ago. Immediately had problems within a week we had problems and within 11 days the unit stopped working entirely. After 5 very frustrating days dealing with the company they fixed it and got it working. Within 2 days it started having issues again. It’s been out again since Wednesday, and I’m told today no one will be able to help me until Monday. Whenever I call I have to explain everything all over again to whatever new person I’m talking to. They never seem to keep notes about what the techs they sent out said or any of the times I called, which have been so many times at this point.

Semper Fi came out to clean the coils on my 6 yo air conditioner. After the technician took my a/c apart he indicated it would be over $800 to clean the coils. I was quoted $99 over the phone (see attached). In addition he tried to say several things on my air conditioner needed to be replaced. The a/c blows ice cold when it’s 120’ out. I merely called Semper Fi to keep it that way. I’m 62 years old and was obviously being upsold. I am very disheartened with Semper Fi and don’t recommend them especially for older adults

In July 2023, my Mom purchased 2 brand new heat pump units (including air handlers and 2 new thermostats). We were told twice...including the morning of the install that they'd send 2 crews so they could install the units simultaneously. Only one crew showed up...and they were late! They told us they could do one unit at a time so that we could have half the house with working A/C at all times. That’s not what they did! They turned off both units at the same time and the house got up to 92 degrees. My Mom is 86 years old, and it was way too hot for her, so we had to remove her from her house while they did the work…and they were there until 11 pm! And…they overcharged us by $150 and I had to go to their office to get the refund! A week later, water was streaming down the inside of an interior wall in the house because the drain pan on one unit was installed with it pitched AWAY from the drain pipe and the pan overflowed and water was everywhere! There were other issues too that caused them to have to completely re-install the unit. Then, the doors for the air handler got damaged during the install, and they didn't tell us. The re-install crew showed us pics and WE had to call to ask them to be replaced! On August 23, they had to come back out again for an electrical issue with the outside unit that caused it to stop working, so half the house was hot again. At this point, we’d had them to the house at least 6 times. Not one time did they show up on time! This whole experience has been a nightmare and it cost almost $25,000. We are not happy at all! When I told them I was not happy, they said they would refund part of what we’d paid. They NEVER did!! In addition, when it got cold, one of the units would not switch to heat and was blowing cold air. The 2 units were working against each other and were running constantly. They had to come out again. They claimed the thermostat had not been installed correctly and it was preventing it from switching to heat. The next issue was when they came out for the “checkup” appointment. They tried to sell us 2 surge protectors for $2488 AND duct cleaning for $2488 (is it a coincidence that the price is the same for both of those?) I had a surge protector installed on my own Heat Pump at my house and I paid $275. Why are they charging $1244 for one? I believe this company expanded way too quickly. My impression is that they will never turn down a job even when they KNOW they do not have the personnel to do the work…but they will promise it anyway. We have a marine in the family and really wanted to support this company, but not only would we NOT recommend this company, we would strongly recommend that you avoid this company at all cost!!

I will start with the good: -The work looks great an is quality work. But that is all that is good. Now the bad: -Don't believe the vets/first responders 20% off BS, they jack up the prices by 30% then give you a 20% discount. While they were performing a water heater replacement another company called and gave me a $1900 quote for the job, Semper Fi charged me $2128 with a 20% discount plus another $200 discount to help "ease the pain". Pricing is BS! -They charged $434/hour in labor to install!!! I priced out all the exact same parts they used and it came out to $826 after discounts and taxes. Using a standard 3 hour install (don't think they were there that long as I had to leave mid way though install) that comes out to $434/hour. -I measured the dimensions and said the water heater they brought wasn't going to fit, the tech said it would. He then requested my help to lift the unit in place and it didn't fit. He then used some of my tools to make the pan fit, and started cutting away piping installed in the walls to make the unit fit. I suggested I go get the exact same unit that was there prior as it would be simpler and faster for him but he flat out refused my idea even though I was uncomfortable with the situation. -Then it happened again, the unit he brought didn't fit the exhaust that was plumed into the house an he asked to use my tools again to make adjustments to his parts so it could fit. All in all, it was quality work, but they do not care about the comfort of the home owner, and they jack up there prices to give you that 20% veteran discount. On top of that they still gouge on the hourly labor rate...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! We purchased 2 units from them which were installed June 30th. We were promised 2 Reme Halo air purifications systems. It took 6 weeks and 3 appointments to get them installed. 5 appointments, 2 missed days of work and the painting of the ceiling still has not been completed. The last tech for the painting asked if we had paint for him to use and then wanted to cut a sample out of the drywall which was just repaired in order to match it. (Don't know why he couldn't use a palette fan.) On Friday, the straps on 1 of the air handlers broke. Water flooded the attic, soaked the plywood, the insulation, and came thru the ceiling. It took 6 phone calls and 4 hours, and 2 different visits by two different techs to get it fixed. The first tech showed up and said he couldn't do anything about it. Took some pics and said he would send them to dispatch. A half hour later, we still hadn't heard anything back. I had to call again, they said they never received anything from them. I HAD TO ASK them to send out another tech. He didn't show up for almost an hour an a half. I don't believe the fix the provided was the best they could do. I believe it was a band-aid to keep us from calling back again and I'm waiting to see how long it holds. As of this morning, I have not heard anything from this company about completing repairs (ie - the drywall, the carpet, the plywood and insulation inside the attic.)

Semper Fi delivers damaged items Goodman air conditioning units I had one replaced and the 2nd one was delivered with damaged condenser coils which the company came our and comb them out it still is poor quality and only that it is very loud when running and when it shuts off sometimes it's quite and most of the time it sounds like something is going to fall off very loud banging noise which they tell me that it's normal I have also called Mike whom has called me twice yet each time he is in a meeting and never returned my calls He did have someone call to ask why I was calling I said I'm returning his call they wanted to know why I was asking for him I told them that he should know why and that he needs to return my call Previously I called called our salesman about the damaged unit he said that was normal but when I had one of their technicians come out he said that it was too damaged and needed to be replaced Don't trust them

I would give our technician Walter 10 stars if I could! I appreciate Walter for his kindness, professionalism, and knowledge. From the moment he introduced himself to the end of the job he's been so helpful and informative with everything he was doing. He explained everything to us and helped us set up our wifi thermostat (which ended up not working). He definitely went above and beyond. Walter and his crew (who were also very polite and extremely helpful) replaced our AC unit yesterday. They did an excellent job. Today our thermostat stopped working. we tried to reset it, changed the batteries. nothing worked so we called the company Semper Fi, as we have a 10 year warranty and it hasn't even been 24 hours since the new install. The lady that answered the phone was no help at all. She informed us that she cant send anyone out today and we can call back tomorrow, which is Sunday, to see when they can send someone out to take a look at it. And thats not to fix the issue, thats to schedule someone to come look at it. She wanted us to sit in our hot house, no AC, no air flow, no control whatsoever to our unit for days before they could send anyone to look at it! Semper Fi's "help line" was no help AT ALL!! Thats why im so thankful for Walter! He gave us his personal phone number before leaving yesterday and my husband called him to see if he could help us troubleshoot the thermostat or something. Sure enough he answered and told us he would come right over to help us out on a Saturday night! If Walter didn't answer his phone, I would've called another company to come help us because there was no way I was going to let my family roast (in this AZ heat), while waiting around for Semper Fi to call us back when its convenient for them. I will recommend Walter to everyone I know! He is the best!

Terrible. Installed a unit that needed more returns (after being told they couldn't install any more returns in our home) and we had to leave our return open with no filter for about a week before they came out and magically could install a new return! Thermostat failed after a few days, they installed the wrong return cover, and still haven't sent us a check for the amount that they overcharged us. Nearly two months later and no refund check, and Jessica's excuse was "the accountants don't write checks every day, and I can't write one myself." If they only write checks on Fridays (the day that I spoke to her and she assured me she'd have a check in outgoing mail by the end of the day) then perhaps I was a bit presumptuous to get upset when the following Thursday a check still hadn't arrived. It seems apparent that employees are well-trained in apology tactics. They all do it well. But they show with their actions--rather, their inaction--that they don't mean it. Once they had our money, they stopped trying to serve us at all.

Obviously a virtue signaling embarrassment to the owner's alleged Marine legacy. This guy has even been on ABC15 with his lies. BEWARE, they will come out do a false assessment of your system and try to sell you a new unit for $14K. Daniel charged me $385 for a $25 capacitor, stole the caps off the coolant lines, and failed to address the bigger issue of a dirty coil. I had someone else come out from a company I have used in the past and he cleaned the coil and my system is running perfectly... he said everything else looks fine. Semper Fi Heating and Cooling told me my only best option was a brand new system. Sad. With all the press and hype under the Semper Fi flag, I thought for sure they were good people. Not so... one more company in a long line of evil players. I reached out to them before posting this review for a response, allowing them to make it right. Crickets.

Called on Monday, promptly answered and scheduled for next day with 3 hour window. Tech (Tim) called about 30 minutes before arriving to let me know he was on his way. Arrived right in the middle of the service appointment window. Tim took the extra time to explain his findings from the inspection as well as walk me through what potential failures I can anticipate, what could be done immediately to remedy, as well as some steps that I can take in the event of a failure. Tim's promptness, professionalism, and genuine investment in customer satisfaction mirrors that of the folks who answer the phone. Definitely would recommend Semper Fi and will continue to use them in the future.

They were very professional and completed the job on time . They also arrived on time and quality of the workmanship is superb. They really did a great job.

I always try to use veteran-owned businesses and these guys are Marines (not former Marines, there is no such thing as a former Marine). They did a great job. It cost more than I expected, but that was not their fault. I simply did not understand what scope of work I was asking for. The A/C units are working great and they needed quite a bit of work after 10 years of virtually no service.

The person was cordial and niced, but SUPER late. Also, not really satisfied with work that was done (outlet not secured into wall)

Fabulous, glad Brazil & Parker staff had that I don't care if we get your business attitude. I would of never met & used semper fi. Great group of people.

Very prompt. I feel it was a good job. Serviceman was professional. Hate how they want to have you purchase things, but I guess that's how you grow your business.

He replaced capacitors on one unit. He also sprayed down the coils to clean them out. Pointed out that 1 motor appeared to be leaking oil and that it would likely fail before long (so I think I'll go ahead and get a home warrantee). Pointed out some areas where the previous installers had taken shortcuts and explained what his team would do if/when we need new units, but he didn't try to hard sell. Professional and thorough.
