Paul Meade Handyman

Paul did a great job and fixed everything on my list. I've used him several times.

I explained twice to him that he could either remove the entire door and casing and reinstall it so it opened outward or remove the hinges and install them so the door swung to the LEFT. He elected to remove the hinges and we discussed it twice just to be sure, and I went on my way doing things around the house I came back a little later and he had installed two of the three hinges so the door would swing to the RIGHT. I ask him what the **** was he doing and why would I want a door to swing in front of my refridgerater. He apologized. I sat and watched him for the rest of the project not trusting his aptitude. He finished the job I paid him and left. I went to Home Depot bought some touch up paint and sanding block, and spackle. I go to sand smooth the filler he used only to discover he used some rubbery window caulking than wasn't hard enough to sand. The following morning it was a little harder but you cannot sand rubber. I am so sorry that I called this guy, he is NOT a finished carpenter even though my Angie's List search was for a finished carpenter! I'm done with him and Angie's List as well. Cancelling my membership after I complete this review

He couldn't "figure out" how to replace our ceiling fan, even though it came with install instructions. He told me I'd have to find someone else to do it, and left it half installed with loose wires poking out. What handyman can't replace a ceiling fan? I wanted him to also replace a light fixture, but the screws were stripped, so again he said I would have to find someone else and left the fixture 1/2 taken down. My husband was able to replace both, but we hired Paul because my husband didn't have time to do this work. Paul leaving these jobs 1/2 done and with wires exposed really messed up our plans because my husband had to stay up late fixing this mess after working a 12hr day. Paul did change 2 chandeliers, and really impressed us by fixing a pocket door that was falling off its track in only 10 minutes. But, he was here 6 hours and all that was accomplished was the pocket door and 2 chandeliers. I expressed to him my disappointment and he charged us for 4hrs of work, but I still feel like this was a high price for what he did ($140 to replace 2 chandeliers and tighten a pocket door, or basically 2hrs per chandelier). He is a very nice guy, and I was really hoping that he would work out and we could use him in the future, but I won't be using him in the future and I can't recommend him.

Called a few times for estimate. Phone number either stops ringing or gives fast busy signal. These old or irrelevant references shouldn't be on a paid service site at all.

Mr. Meade has worked on other projects for my home. He showed up promptly, quickly completed the tasks and was friendly and helpful. We will gladly use his services in the future.

I called for bathroom light fixture and faucet install. He was on time (even got me in a day early at my request) and professional. A bit slow and could not complete the job (not his fault, the sinks weren't lined up with the drain). I had to have a plumber anyway. I wish he had assessed the job prior to starting the faucets so I wouldn't have to pay twice for the installation. The bathroom mirror was damaged (big scratch) during the light install which was not disclosed to me..

In 2013 he replaced our Kitchen Insinkerator. Also installed spyglass for 2 exterior doors. . We appreciate Mr. Paul Meade's professional work and most certainly will request his services again.

He came in and found out what I wanted done, helped put the lights together out of the boxes, and hung them from the ceiling. He worked quickly and efficiently. He was pleasant to talk with and was finished with the work very quickly. He didn't waste time getting the work done.

Paul did everything well. Some repairs were complicated by the age of the house and wires and lines not being were they should have been. Paul came up with creative solutions. He arrived on time and spent 5 hours fixing things. Highly recommend Paul.

He was really excellent he saved me a lot of money.

I called in the morning and left a message for a return call as I'm trying to get my house ready to rent since we have to move out of the area. I got a call back the same afternoon. I told him I wanted a quote for some painting and a little caulking, and whatever else he thought may be needed to get the home rent ready as I've never rented my home before. He asked me if I was having anyone else out to quote and I said yes, I wanted to get a few quotes for the job. He got wishy-washy and told me he'd probably not be available for quotes right now and that since I was getting other quotes and he may not get the job.....He'd think on it and maybe call me back. I was flabbergasted! How unprofessional! I guess I'll hire someone who wants business instead. I wish I could comment on his work, but since he was unwilling to even take a look at my job which was well in the description he posted on Angie's List, I can't do that. All because I am getting other quotes--Absolutely RIDICULOUS! This is the second time since I've been an Angie's list member that I've had a similar issue with the providers on Angie's List. I won't be renewing my membership again.

Paul arrived on time and completed work as agreed. Professional diligent.

Mr. Meade is very courteous, very professional and takes pride in his work. Could not ask for anything more from a professional. Did an outstanding job.

Paul was thorough and knowledgeable in his craft.

Was going out the door at 4:55 to take my special needs son to PT. Open the door and heard a loud pop. Door would not close, so heat was coming into the house from the garage I went to Angie's List and found Paul. I called him immediately. He was at my house within 45 minutes. Not only did he replace the spring hinge on the door, he fixed the weather stripping and made sure the locks worked better. The door now has a better seal than before. Paul was great, did a fantastic job and we will definately be using him again for more handyman jobs.

We were so grateful for Paul. He is so efficient, and incredibly highly skilled. The detail of his work can not be described. He is so clean and communicates very thoroughly. He does not leave out any detail in our understanding of the process, price or precise skill in his work. This man is an amazing master. There were corners where the air conditioner ducts were so close, we did not even think the project could be accomplished because of the front door opening. Paul has the ability to conceptualize in a way that the two of us could absolutely not see. He is so precise. He definitely puts in a hard day, and never once shows it.

He put the cutter up and walking all over the roof and had screws sticking out of the metal. It did not look good but it works with the last rain storm. The sink in the master bathroom is another matter it leaks a bit and he was hired to caulk around the base of sink. Never caulked the base of the sink and the toilet could have been better.

Paul contacted us quickly after sending him a note through Angie's List. He was professional, on time, and meticulous. We were extremely happy with his service.

I can not recommend Paul more highly. He deserves his A rating and then-some. He was at my home the majority of the day and did not stop except for a brief lunch break; he banged things out and happily had an "ok, what's next?" attitude. I will absolutely use him again!

The job was great. We needed to get some wood that matched the stain and he was able to match that.

He did great. He even noticed other things that needed to be done, and did it, at no additional expense.

My interaction with Paul was very satisfactory. Paul is very professional and a straight-shooter. I appreciated his candor and his help. The project I wanted done was (as I described it) unsafe to Paul, and beyond his capabilities to really do it right --- which would have been a significant level "up" from his skills, equipment, and materials. So he declined to accept the project, but gave me very good advice and leads on companies that would likely have the right capabilities. Based on his honesty, frankness, and professionalism, I would definitely call him again if I needed a more 'routine' handyman project done.

They were very professional. I think one of the guys was new and he has never done this before because it took him a little while to figure it out but they got it done. I would recommend them. I think they were good guys.
