Description of Work: I needed to have a very tall, but lean tree pruned back for the first time in years. The previous owners never did any tree work, from what I could tell. Access was poor, but Mejia was not phased. His men had to drop branches down directly next to our fence, near the side of our house and our neighbors. His crew climbed the tree to get the pruning done all the way to the top. He arrived early, and was done in a very short time. The tree looked beautiful, compared to how it looked when his men started...crew of 4-5. The clean-up was perfect. I was very happy I used Angie's list to find him. At estimate stage, I asked him if he would be on-site for the work, and he said yes...he wouldn't want the liability of the guys working without his supervision. This impressed me. He was extremely professional. Don't let a little language barrier on the phone prevent you from calling his outfit. He was very polished, professional, and had great character. He aims to please. I would definitely use him again. His crew was very professional...good eye contact, nice smiles, nicely-groomed, very considerate and happy I liked their work.

Description of Work: I had two very large trees topped and one large tree removed. The stump was ground and waste wood removed. I got estimates from three companies and Mejias estimate was half what the others wanted. When I told Mr. Mejia that I would like to keep some of the proper sized pieces for firewood he said no problem and even cut them to length for me. Very friendly and hardworking people.

+ -1 moreCalled several times, spoke to someone in the office that promised a return call from Luis, never received one. Also indicated he would come by and then call me with an estimate. Two hours later than promised, I received an estimate. He was 1/2 late to the job. He brought a crew and trucks, which once he was unable to pull into the back then said he couldn't pull the trucks in the front (yet came to house prior and knew the lay of the neighborhood). He drove off without explanation. Never heard from him again. It is a shame that weight isn't given to incomplete experiences. But hopefully everyone will read this and find another resource more reliable and communicative.
Description of Work: Cut 11 palm trees and skinned two.

+ -1 moreI had to recall Mr. Mejia when he didn't return my first call for an estimate. However, when I talked with him on the 2nd call, he made an appointment to come the next day. He came with 5 workers and machine that mulched the branches on site when trimmed. They also did a neighbor's trees while they were here in the area when she inquired about her palms being trimmed also. His teenage son was there to also help and translate with the workers. He was very personable and helpful. The workers were courteous and cleaned up well after the trimming. Mr. Mejia also said he could come back and skin and/or take down trees in December, or in the less busy season, for very reasonable rates. I would use his services again.
Description of Work: Trimmed 4 very tall palm trees.
