Magic Touch Mechanical

I was a customer of Magic Touch Mechanical for at least 15 years. Bought 2 AC units from them; all regular maintenance. And then they lost their "magic." Ripped me off for a UV replacement bulb costing nearly $600; gave me a work order saying replacement costs were covered by the warranty, and then said, "No, there's no warranty." Wouldn't return my calls. Wouldn't give me a refund on the year of their maintenance plan I had already paid for. I had to hire a new company and invest close to $6000 in long-term maintenance that Magic Touch neglected for years. This company no longer cares about their reputation. Do not hire them.

Jason was incredibly efficient, thorough and informative doing a diagnostic job on a 12-year old outdoor gas fire pit that had stopped working. His quote for repairs is fair. We will definitely call Magic Touch to have the work done.

When our 1-year-old San Tan Valley a/c wasn't keeping up in the summer of 2021, a neighbor recommended I contact Day Advanced Air. I did and the owner very honestly said they were too busy to take on another job. He recommended I contact Magic Touch as he had gone to school with the owner and knew they would do a good job. Steve Day, if you're reading this, I hope you stop recommending Magic Touch! Over the course of June, July and August of 2021, Magic Touch technicians took apart the air conditioner and found nothing, so had to recharge it with new refrigerant; identified the problem as a leak in the lineset and replaced the entire lineset (three trucks on site, multiple technicians for over 12 hours); did a dye test because it was still leaking and said it was the A-frame coil, they'd have to order a new one. In October, when we asked about the replacement part, they were quite puzzled, what were we talking about (we had the invoice for it!) and sent a technician out to get information to ORDER THE PART, which was still under warranty; this technician muttered under his breath about "new guys who don't know anything," leading me to believe that whomever had been doing the diagnosing and who needed all the help to replace the lineset was acknowledged by other company employees as Not Having A Clue. They replaced the coil (part covered by warranty, remember!), refilled refrigerant that had been further depleted by all the horsing around and we went into the cooler months with the a/c seeming to work. We paid Magic Touch $4100.89 during that summer. The BRAND NEW air conditioner, the previous year, had cost only about $1500 more than that! Fast forward to spring of 2022 and guess what, the a/c isn't keeping up. We contacted Steve's Ultimate Air. They have identified the problem as the lineset, which apparently was soldered so badly on that marathon day that the whole thing needs to be replaced AGAIN. Steve's charge for this is under $500, however. Stay Far, Far Away from Magic Touch. They are bait and switch scam artists who send untrained and incapable technicians to your home and who do not stand behind their work

This past week, for seven days straight, your workers installed five air conditioning units. The team was extraordinary, working long hours to get the job done. They started and ended the job as promised. They oversaw a crane that lifted the five compressors over our roof. They did continuous trouble shooting. Simply, they did the job right. Moreover, they were great communicators. They answered our questions precisely and clearly. They gave us confidence. They were courteous and maintained the highest professional standards. I'd like to comment specifically on several of your crew, who went far and beyond to do the great job they did. Let me begin with Taden. At the ripe age of 20, he has what it takes to be a leader. He oversaw every detail for twelve hours a day. He spoke kindly and directly to those working with him. He did not hesitate to jump in and do the gritty work. He climbed ladders, got on his belly, gathered materials, and installed the ACs with expertise and care. As a former business owner, I cannot say enough about this young man. He is any company's dream worker/supervisor. This kid will go far! Rick, as you no doubt know, is an AC master. He was on top of every move. He knew his stuff, and directed others with a soft kindness that only an experienced supervisor can do. Rick reassured us at every juncture. He did not hesitate to jump in, like Taden, and do what had to be done. Again, as a former business owner, this is the kind of worker I'd grab and do everything to keep! Jordan was also diligent and hard-working. As the “big” guy on the job, he lifted objects with ease. He always had a smile, even as the sweat was pouring off his face. Working under Taden’s guidance, he was outstanding. Finally, on the last day of the job, we had the pleasure of meeting Jonathan. He is a true techie. He had to resolve electrical and mechanical issues. Most particularly, he found a problem with one of the AC returns that no one had noticed in 17 years. Imagine that! He discovered a large AC return under a kitchen island. Then he got on his stomach, for at least an hour, and cleaned it out, removing inches of debris. Without this intervention, our new Bosch unit might have failed. In a climate when business owners cannot find good help, hats off to you, Rich, for hiring the best of the best. I’m trying to think of when I last saw a crew work 12 hour days…maybe never. When I suggested to the crew that call it a night at 11PM, Rick, the overall supervisor, simply said, “Not ‘til the job’s done.” Also, Jeff, who sold us on the job, was instrumental in having us choose you, among the many companies out there. He was specific, honest, and responsive to our questions. We are thankful to Jeff for selling us on Magic Touch. Bottom line, we give your company and your expert workers five stars! Do not use this company. Simple. They send out fantastic first people, Bart you are amazing, but then it all falls to ****. Multiple times I specially requested mobile air units for our animals. They assured me three separate times that they would be sure to bring a unit. They didn’t. They “supervisor” was late and rude, forgot to turn a breaker back on. Horribly disappointed. Lucas and theydan(?) were amazing and the only reason they are not getting one star. They stayed to make sure things were done properly and right. Worst of all. They damaged my roof so poorly I now have to look into getting it repaired. Understood they may be some damage but when I have to go out and inquire and then be told “yea just go down the street and ask the company fixing your neighbors roof.” Zero care or even attempt. Also zero attempt on follow up. I had to go to their location to even be heard. Really disappointing as the unit and thermostat they installed are fantastic. And Bart, Lucas and theydan(?) are amazing and should run most things.

Jason Grebe was very informative. He was very polite and patient with all of my questions. I watched what he did and basically he told me step by step of what he was doing and what he had to do. Was very thorough and I learned alot. Our 13 year old lennox seems to run quieter and sounds smoother. He suggested to change house filter 1 time a month in our summer heat a

They were extremely proficient and knowledgeable. Our technician was friendly and on time.

3 year old unit installed by them stopped cooling. Tech stated the cause as the 'voltage absorption unit' and quotes ~$375 for parts and labor if he uses the part on the truck, or ~$550 for a part covered by the manufacturers warranty since it would require additional time to go get. Neither quote included the $75 service call feel. According to the manufacturer, there is no 'voltage absorption unit' in the system. The part was a simple capacitor which could be purchased for $20. I retained the original and looked it up. The entire visit took less that an hour, so I can't tell you what the labor cost was.

Lucas was great. He found the problem and replace the faulty switch, cleaned up a provided complete service.

Jeremy, the technician, was extremely helpful, professional, thorough, and well educated in what he was doing. He kept me up to speed on everything that he was doing. About two weeks after he came, I had a question. He called me back promptly and stayed on the phone with me as he walked me thru some instructions for the fireplace. Again, he was awesome. I highly recommend magic touch!

Ripoff, The part for the Capacitor cost $25 off the shelf, took no more than .30 minutes to replace. However I was charged $356.00 for this x 2 units = $712.00 dollars for 1 hour Labor &$50.00 in parts - it’s like $500 per hr. Price Gouging! Should be reported toAG.

Perfectly. Was in time and very friendly and professional.

Turned out that it was just a fuse that had blown. Fuses were replaced and everything kicked back on. House is cooling down now.

techs usually find something that requires payment, so regular tune ups tend to be costly (but not as costly as replacement of system). For example, this time was recommended to do 4 or 5 things: voltage absorber under mfg specs; chemcial clean indoor air handler coil; replace surge protector on air handler; pull and clean dirty indoor blower wheel. Doing all would have been over $2000. Opted for the electronic items, which cost $817.55.

Lucas recommended several maintenance items that will help insure several more years of good service from this unit.

Teman and Tommy did a great job! Everything was going great until the system was started up and there was a manufacturer's problem. Stuff happens. What I appreciate is that there was good communication about the problem and went straight to the solution. So, what was supposed to be an 8-10 hour/1 day installation process, turned into a 16 hour/2 day installation process. I'm ok with that. Customer Service and a great job is what matters in the end.

Jason was our technician, very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely use this company again.

I was very grateful that 2 outstanding techs from Magic Touch came out right before the holiday weekend and got us all fixed up. Jason came out on his vacation day, and Jeremy stayed well into the evening to get the job finished. I'm very happy.

On a super hot summer day, our air conditioner started to stutter and then stopped working. I called Magic Touch Mechanical when it seem to be stuttering and they told me that someone would be in touch within an hour. Within the hour Peter Garcia called and indicated that he would be at our home in about an hour. Within that short interval of time, our air conditioner stopped working altogether. Peter came to our home in about an hour from calling, quickly diagnosed the problem and then fixed it. He had to go out to get some parts, but was back quickly and finished the job. Within about 4 1/2 hours of our initial call, our air conditioner was repaired! Peter Garcia was awesome! He was extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and had a kind and clear way of explaining what happened, why it happened and what needed to be done to fix it. We also learned that we can request Peter Garcia for future issues! Hopefully we won’t have to call again, but if we do, we are grateful to know that Peter is there to help.

Teman, Tommy, Steve and Rustin all worked long and hard and got my 21-year old system Out and New system in! Not an easy job, through the pitiful attic access! (How Stupid are home builders!?) Oh, and the Crane operator...that was quite a sight to see...old and new units flying high! Kudos to the guys for their dedication and talent! I felt very comfortable with all of them in my home...they were professional and polite, and didn't seem to mind if I tried to help when I could! (Well, I Did extend the attic walkway before they arrived, so that was appreciated!)

Well. All systems were checked and recommendations were made about issues to keep an eye on.

Everything went very well. The technician, Jason Grebe, was on time, very professional, kept me informed of the inspection process and completed the work as promised.
