EXPENSIVE: I returned from out of town on a Saturday and discovered my air conditioner was not working. My normal service man was not available. JOHN'S REF. came out and said the air conditioner was ok but the mohter board operating the air mover in the attic was shot. $950 to replace. He said he wouldn't put that much into a new unit and pushed for a whole new air conditioning system that would cost between $8,000 and $12,000. My wife was flying in that evening so I asked if he could do anything temporarily until we could make a decision. He said he could wire the mother board so that it would blow all the time if I put the fan on "on", but if I put the fan on "auto" it would not work. He charged me $59 for the service call and $209 to put in a blow motor capacitor that he said was shot. After he left I tested his theory and put the fan on auto and contray to what he said it worked fine, shutting off and coming on when needed. On Monday I had my regular guy look at the fan and air conditioner. He said the mother board was OK. He said my air conditioning unit was old but working fine. He also said the cost of a capacitor was $15. When I questioned JOHN's REF. about the exorbitant cost I was told that the $209 for the capacitor takes into consideration the gas and expense of delivering and installing the part. That being the case I'm not sure what the "service fee" for $59 was for. I felt like I was being pressured to buy a new air conditioner and that I was overcharged to fix the existing problem, which seems to have been a blow motor capacitor.

They are wonderful and I am happy with their services.

I found John's on Angie's list. Probably not the cheapest in town. But not overpriced either. I checked several other places for a similar model / efficiency and John's was about average. We chose Johns because of the reviews on Angie's list and also the presentation / quote (by Mark C). Mark did a thorough walk through to see what we needed, asked what my concerns were etc. He gave multiple options on price, efficiency and brands, but wasn't pushy. He explained how they do the installation, timing, their work ethic, back up plan in case our old a/c failed before the new one arrived etc. Very thorough and professional. I also like that it was a family owned company that prides themselves on their service. The only special request we had was to relocate our outside a/c condensor unit from the backyard to side yard (away from the back windows) to minimize noise. Installation day was in late June in Gilbert. I felt sorry for the guys going up in the attic and what not on hot day like that, but i never heard any complaints. And when i peaked up in the attic towards the end of the job, the tech was than happy to show me the new unit, how it worked and answer any questions. It was hot in the attic by I wanted to know what was up there and he obviously took pride in their work (which he should cause they did great). I think there were 3 guys initially. But a fourth one came out later to help out on the relocation It was a little further of a move then they usually do and there was a funny corner to get the piping/tubing around, they brought in their most experienced person for it. Regardless, all of them were very professional and they did a great job. By the way we ended up gettting a 16 SEER Lennox HVAC system. Quite an improvement (both efficiency and noise) over our previous 15 yr old system! Long review. But a good one for Johns Refridgeration. We will definitely use them again. Keep up the good work Johns.

The three man crew was well organized and professional. They did neat work, cleaned up completely. The job took most of a day. New system works great - very quiet. John's is certainly not low cost, but I think you get what you pay for.

I purchased their service plan approximately 2 years ago and I have been pleasantly surprised with finding an honest heating and refrigeration company.

Mike Rowland performed the energy audit. He arrived promptly as scheduled. Mike walked with me through the whole house and explained the process as we looked at all rooms in the house with his infra-red gun and camera. He took pictures of all areas of concern. Mike then went into the attic and checked out all areas in the attic paying particular attention to the areas of concern that were identified in the walk through. Again Mike took pictures of any areas of concern. Mike left and went back to the office to write up his recommendations for energy improvement. Mike scheduled a follow-up visit with me to discuss his recommendations. He emailed me copies of all the pictures he had taken during his visit so we could study them prior to his follow-up visit. During his follow-up visit he explained thoroughly all of his recommendations and we again reviewed the pictures he had previously taken. John's did not charge for the energy audit although several hours were spent conducting the audit. We were free to pick whatever recmmondendations we chose to pursue on none at all. We chose to do some of the recommendations immediately that provided the biggest improvement and wait on some of the others. Mike was always punchual and professional as were the other John's personnel that performed the work we had done. I would definitely recommend John's to anyone and we plan to use them in the future for all air conditioning and energy needs.

Our conference room was really hot and the the offices surrounding it would be really cold when we turned on the air conditioning. We had our regular A/C company come out three times in the last few years to correct this since they had originally installed all of the duct work. I called John's to get a second opinion since it was never fixed and they found many broken ducts that were taped with duct tape. They did a great job fixing everything and making our air flow better. This has also lowered our monthly bill! They were very professional, timely and did a great job. I would highly recommend them and their prices are very comparable to other companies

I called late after hours. They came out when they said they would and performed the job that they were asked to perform. My husband was out of town so I wasn't sure what kind of equipment he'd want installed. When my husband came home he did not like the equipment that was installed. He called the office and asked for a refund. They came took their equipment and promptly refunded us.Overall they did an excellent job and would recommend the company.

They did a great job. We were 100% happy and would use them again. Nice folks who did exactly as you expect and exactly as they said they would. No complaints on any of the equipment or labor.

We called on Sunday around 12:30pm and they told us we could have someone between 2pm-5pm. Chris called my at 2:05 to let me know he was on his way. Chris got her soon after and got to work fixing the problem. I was really pleased with the level of professionalism and the suggestions he gave us for things he thought we should improve. I'll definitely be calling on this company again.

I had been using this company for several years for general maintenance and the occasional repair and had been very pleased with the quality of their work. I am very unhappy that I decided to use them to install a new heat pump. My primary purpose for having the work done was to decrease noise of operation. The new unit is equally loud in operation and my roof and windows now vibrate during operation. This particular unit was recommended by the salesperson in order to resolve some airflow issues in the home. The airflow problems still exist, and appear to have worsened. The duct work near the unit rattles inside the ceiling and I have a hissing sound at some registers. I was also sold additional equipment for the unit that was not necessary.

We found them off Angie’s List. I will recommend them.

We had just moved into our new home, and the weather turned cold that same weekend. I noticed Sunday night that the heat was not coming on. The thermostat was not functioning and it was getting chilly in the house. I didn't think it would get too cold, so I figured it could wait to the next day. That evening the house got down to 62 degrees. It was very chilly and I have two small children. I contacted my home warranty company first thing the next morning to come and repair the unit. After spending the better part of the day on the phone with the home warranty company, they were unable to find a technician who could come the same day. The following evening was supposed to get down to 38 degrees and I was not about to go through another night with no heat. I placed a desperate call to John's refrigeration Monday afternoon to get someone out the same day to diagnose and repair the system. I spoke withTaryn and she advised me that there was a technician in the area who could come by after his current appointment. I was so thrilled! She called me when he was on the way so I didn't have to leave work earlier than necessary. Brian, the technician was already at my home when I arrived. He was very professional and courteous, covered his shoes before entering the home, had a drop carpet that he placed at the doorway to ensure no dirt was tracked into the hosue. He looked at the wiring, asked permission to get on the roof and look at the AC unit wiring. He identified the wiring issue and went above and beyond by changing out the sun baked wiring so that the color could be identified in the future. He connected the thermostat correctly to ensure the heat was working. He went above and beyond then by identifying that the unit had been wired incorrectly by the previous owner and my dual compressor unit was only working on 1 compressor. He took the time to make sure that the dual compressors were working, and educated me on how the system was supposed to work, and how to identify that it was working as it should. The house is warm and toasty now, and I am thrilled with the service provided. I have already referred a friend to Johns Refrigeration.

They are outstanding! I’ve been really happy with their service. They are professional, honest, and extremely clean and neat. For example, their employees wear booties while in our home.

Great experience. I came home late on a Friday night to find one of my two AC units wasn't working. I called my "normal" service company, and when I didn't call back after a couple of hours Saturday morning, I checked Angie's list and called John's. The repair man called and told me he had 2 jobs ahead of me and would be out around noon. I had to be at a hospital to sign consent for a surgery and told him that I should be able to make it home by then. He called around 11:00 to say he was done and could come now. I told him I wouldn't be there for a couple of hours. Well, he said he'd go to lunch and to call him when I was going to be available. So, this guy waited form me, on a Saturday, when he was essentially done, to come and fix my unit. He found the problem within a few minutes, left to pick up the part, was back quickly and replaced the capacitor. He was very courteous, professional and quick. There was no extra charge for weekend service. The owner called a couple of weeks later to ask me how the service went and was I satisfied. Obviously, customer service is very important to this company. I highly recommend John's.

I have 2 units. I had a different company perform a maintenance service call. They recommended that the fan blades on both units be replaced along with the condenser fan motor on one of the units. I called John's for a 2nd opinion since I had used them in the past. Jared with John's came out the next day and was on time for the appointment. He said the fan blades were fine but the condenser fan motor needed to be replaced. He also said that both units were pulling high amps and recommended installing compressor savers on both units to preserve the life of the compressor and save on electric useage. I wanted to think it over as $1100 is a lot of money and did not agree to the repair on the spot. I called back a couple of days later and scheduled the repair. Jared came back the next day and installed the conderser fan and the compressor savers. I was satisfied with the quality of the repair and Jared was very professional and helpful. My only complaint is that I was charged a second service fee of $69 since I didn't agree to the repair on the spot. I would however definitely use them again and recommend their service.

I spent about $4500 on the job. They were very professional. They gave me estimates on several units and they came back later to followup at no additional cost. They were also easy to work with. I will consider using them in the future.

We use them frequently to do any kind of service on our air-conditioning. They are honest and they come out when they say they will. They are very professional and are always on time. We have been very pleased with them. They came out last fall. We didn't spend anything as we had a contract with them. We will probably be calling them again in the next few weeks to make sure that everything is up and running with the air conditioner. They come highly recommended. I would refer them to friends and family.

Pretty good service, courteous, friendly and professional. Had to come back more than once due to not having the correct replacement part, but other than that no issues with the service completed, and no problems since then.

John?s refrigeration installers were very professional and knowledgeable; the salesman took the time to educate me so that I could make an informed decision. They used top quality R8 flex ductwork and even did airflow before, then after new installation checks of the system. I have nothing but good to say about this company and highly recommend them for your HVAC maintenance needs. My original HVAC ductwork was poorly designed, which resulted in numerous areas that were hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Now the house is the same temperature throughout and comfortable no matter how hot it may get (I am sure the winter heating will be the same).

The service call was promptly answered, tech was on time, he was curteous, and very professional. I will use them again.

We had a power outage in the area for about 2 hours. When the power came back on my AC unit would not power on. 2 Guys from the company showed up and performed a ton of tests. They were very thorough. It was a sunday and HOT so they did charge me for the emergency service call. They told me my thermsostat electronics was faulty and had a bad connection. They quoted me $300+ for a new one. I passed on that. They also gave me an overview of the AC's performance. Last the AC was really dirty so Im sure its been beat up. I had them tune it up. I think overall I spent $400 or so to have them get everything working. I also signed up for their service plan since I have been having constant problems with my AC. I havent had any problems since they tuned it up. The service plan is $17 a month and they come twice a year to do maintenance.
