They came a total of 3 times. Each time they came quickly. They put extra effort each visit.

Our A/C unit was already beyond it's expected lifespan and I wanted to replace it before the 2011 tax credit ran out. We were also expecting to move soon and convert the house to a rental. JMAC helped us get the best unit that would maximize our tax credit at the lowest price. The next closest bids were $1000 more for a poorer unit, or $2500 more for a similar unit, plus a little extra for the service contract that I would have to buy in order to get their best price. JMAC doesn't even sell a service contract. The guy from JMAC explained that by giving a great price they win most of their bids so they don't have the overhead of paying salesmen who are wasting time on losing bids. They also keep their overhead low by not advertising; they rely on repeat business and word-of-mouth. They arrived slightly late to our first appointment due to an emergency that occurred with one of their business customers that took longer than expected to handle. It's completely understandable, but I have to ding them on punctuality for that. The actual install was a bit more difficult than expected since the old A/C unit was in an extremely tight spot. They quickly brought in a crane to get it out and the new unit in over the fence wall. Despite the unexpected problems with the install, the bill came in exactly at their original bid. The new A/C unit was the only clue that they had been there. Since it was February when they installed the unit, they had us schedule them to come back in summer for a free inspection to make sure that the unit would work under stress. After 3 years, we haven't had a single issue with the AC.

I had another company estimate that my AC unit would cost $2200-3500 to repair, and recommended replacing. JMAC came out the same day I called, and was able to get it completely functional for $628. The tech told me exactly what needed to be done, and what the other company said that needed to be done didn't and why.

I had an awful experience with them. I wouldn’t use them. They overcharged me. They tried to charge me even when the air conditioner was under warranty. They haven’t come back to check the compressor and was trying to charge me for that. I would not use them in the future.
