HELPING HAND RESTORATION

We arrived home from vacation to find our toilet supply line erupted while we were out of town. It was 10:30 at night, so we had a friend recommend Helping Hands to us. They arrived within 30 minutes of our phone call and immediately went to work. They gave us a prognosis on the overall damage and what they could do for the evening (just remove water and put in fans, remove carpets, or remove drywall and carpets). We opted to have them remove carpets that night and work to dry out the drywall with the fans. The next day, they returned to check the status. After several days of no drying in certain locations, they recommended removal of drywall in certain portions, but was only limited to certain sections. They came back every day (except Sunday) to check on the status of the drying. Each day they would report to us the status of the drying and make recommendations. Overall, they were friendly, helpful, courteous and enjoyable to interact with. They knew what they were talking about. Our primary contact, Jay, predicted that the reason our drywall was not drying was because it was aluminum backed. Once we finally removed the wall, it was indeed aluminum backed. We were staying in a nearby hotel and on several occasions, we would receive a call that they were waiting for us outside our house. The communication about when they were going to appear at the house was not clear and it was very frustrating. There was also an instance where the supervisor appeared on site with Jay, and they were clearly arguing frequently about both the job here and just in general. I found it very unprofessional. Our Insurance company agent informed us that in the past there have been issues with how much they charge for their services (and we got a bit of this sense in some of the comments they made). We haven't received our response from our insurance company yet to determine if they will cover the full cost or not yet.

REMOVED A PANEL, SAW MILDEW, TAPED IT UP WITH DUCT TAPE, SAID HE WILL BE BACK, HEARD NOTHING. HE GAVE ME A REPORT AND WANTED A CHECK, PAID $250 FOR NOTHING.

HELPING HANDS WERE VERY EFFICIENT AND CAPABLE. THE WORKMEN WERE POLITE, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PUNCTUAL. THE WORK TOOK NEARLY FOUR WEEKS TO FINISH BUT IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT; THE HEATER AND SURROUNDING AREAS LOOK GREAT. THEY EVEN WASHED THE GARAGE FLOOR (THE HEATER IS IN THE GARAGE).
