Green & Trim Landscape

Daryl was very prompt and efficient in coming out and giving us a bid. He was very knowledgeable and listened carefully to our plan. He referred us to a local building supply so we could see the paver options that were available, The Thursday before the Monday that they began working. Daryl came out and reviewed what was to be done. Monday he arrived at 6:30 am along with his crew. He introduced me to the foreman who was in charge of the installation. He went over the work that was to be done with the foreman. Then they went work..They removed one shrub and reconnected the irrigation line. They removed a section of old river rock and started laying the pavers. The project took a day and a half. The crew was friendly and the foreman easily answered a couple of questions that I had during the installation. When the job was completed they cleaned the entire area very. The patio looks great! Exactly as we had envisioned and according to plan.

I was planning a major overhaul of my backyard that included resurfacing the patio and look deck, a new walkway, and new plantings. I left Daryl a message about my needs and he called me back within 24 hours. We met at my house a few days later and I went through all of the work that would be done. Daryl was able to quote just about everything but the large trees I intended to add. After I had received quotes from 5 different landscape companies (all from A.L.), I decided to use Green and Trim for the 100' paver walk from the rear of my house to the side. All company I spoke with had good A.L. reviews but Green and Trim was the least expensive - in some cases 50% of the other quotes. After I gave him my deposit, Daryl's guys began work three days later. After seeing the beginning of the project, I decided to add more pavers to my pool pump area. In three days, Daryl's guys were finished. I am a very particular customer, and asked lots of questions and tweaked a few parts of the project while it was happening. The guys were able to accommodate everything I need and I was very satisfied. I plan to use Green and Trim again in the future.

There were drainage issues in my back yard as a result of years of soil buildup and compaction. Daryl assessed the property and on the first visit, offered several good ideas that would remedy the situation. It was decided to remove 18" of the old compacted soil, and replace with fresh soil and desert landscape. Since there was little room for access to the back yard, the crew worked to literally wheelbarrow out all the old soil, and then wheel barrow in the new soil. This was accomplished rapidly and diligently and the crew members were very accommodating and frequently checked to see if I was pleased with the progress. They brought in 22 landscape plants, that were arranged by George, the foreman, is a most pleasing design. I had certain plant preferences, and those were taken into account in the overall landscape arrangement. A drainage box was located in the new sunken landscape area, and an underground tube was placed from the back to the front of the property, in the event of overflow from extra heavy rains in the future. All my plants are healthy and growing, the drainage is working as it was supposed to and I couldn't be more pleased than I am with Daryl and his crew from Green and Trim Landscape. Daryl was a pleasure to work with. He was professional, prompt, and kept in touch during the job.

We decided to hire Daryl and his crew in November 2014 for a underground drainage and landscape renovation of our back and frontyards with new plants, trees, rock and pavers. The reason for our late review is because the number one reason we needed them to do the work was because of drainage/grading issues and needed some time to pass after heavy rainfalls to gauge how well his system would hold up after a major rains in the fall of 2014. Daryl and his crew are very professional and provided good insight. on what to do based on our drainage/grading issues. On day one of the project we had heavy rains come down and they dug trenches around the home with ponchos on so that the rain could be guided away from our home and to the street. Most companies probably would have cancelled and not shown up because it was raining so badly. Green and Trim decided to do what was right for us and to protect our home since the drainage and grading was so poor around our entire home and to alleviate any further damage to the inside of the home. They also broke up about 400 sq ft of concrete in our backyard and replaced it with turf and pavers to help with the flow of water away from our home and patio.. Underground drainage tubes were put into the ground on both sides of the home and so far this has been helpful to a large degree. Plants, trees, turf and rock were added after the drainage and grading renovation had been complete. We love the look of our backyard and enjoy the views. We use the paver patio as a firepit area and use it a ton!! Mostly, we have enjoyed that the water so far does not come into or next to our home. There were several instances where we needed Darryl and his crew to back and finish some last minute items and to install more lighting after the project had been completed. Darryl has a good eye for details and is just a good person to work. Working in the real estate business, my wife and I have very high expectations of contractors because so many of them have a poor work ethic and are just plain lazy. So, we were not the easiest for him to work with. The price paid for services was right on target with our goals as well. There is still a portion of the project that we would like to continue to further help our drainage by providing drainage tubing all the way to the street on the East side of the home. Hopefully we can do this soon! The only issue we have is that we never received a final receipt or any warranty information for his services. We would like to get that information. I hope we can partner again to complete the final phase of the project that he recommended. I want to add that his crew was always polite and worked hard to meet our criteria. I wish them the best and please give them a chance to make your landscaping needs a success!

The project went great. Daryl and his crew did a complete make-over of my front and back yards. Removed most existing vegetation (and there was a LOT), two trees, brick borders etc. Put down new gravel, planted over 30 plants, and installed a drip irrigation system. The job took 2.5 days during the rainy first full week of January 2016. Daryl's crew was excellent, worked very hard, and cleaned up after themselves. Daryl is very easy-going and a pleasure to work with, he was attentive to all my input and answered all my questions. I can honestly say Green and Trim Landscape exceeded my expectations in every way. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants quality landscaping work, done right the first time.

Daryl from Green and Trim came in with the best overall estimate from the 4 that we received, all from Angie's List landscapers. He was very responsive to our needs and price concerns and made great accommodations to keep us at budget. The quality of the work was great and we have received many compliments on the final outcome. Daryl's crew was great to work with as well and were very considerate and professional. I would have no reservations recommending Green and Trim to anyone and will probably have them back to do additional work in the future once the budget allows.

Daryl responded to a message that I left and scheduled a time to come by and look at the job. He was on time and quickly provided a quote. We decided to have them do the work and it was scheduled for the following week. The crew showed up as scheduled and had the work done in less than two days. The pavers look fantastic. The crew cleaned up after themselves. Daryl stopped by when the work was completed to make sure that we were happy with the work. We will be using Green and Trim again.

Green & Trim responded to our request for a quote quickly and spent over an hour at our home to review our needs. Daryl provided a detailed quote within one day and was able to complete the work the following week. He was on time, quick and everything that was planted is thriving and looks amazing. We were concerned about the placement of the rock (the one area in our backyard that needed the rock the most did not get any) and we contacted to express our concern. He was quick to provide a solution that was fair for both parties. We have more work to be done and will absolutely use them again. I only wish their team could provide our weekly maintenance!

The job went real well. Daryl was great to work with every step of the way. He takes great pride in his work and is very knowledgeable in his field. My wife and I appreciated all of his input. Daryl's crew which was lead by George was very punctual and extremely professional. Daryl is fortunate to have very hard working employees. We truly love our new outdoor living space and we know that we will enjoy it for many years to come. Being new to the state, my wife and I were very happy that we found Daryl Brown of Green and Trim Landscape on Angie's list. Daryl had very positive reviews and comments from customer's and we were so happy that we elected to go with him. Daryl is truly a professional and it is apparent that he wants to do whatever he can to please his client's and to work within their budget. .

I am writing this 2 years later as I am scheduling my back yard now however I will describe what I recall. The work started as we planned, I was out of town on the first day. The second day is when I got back in town and was happy at the progress. The quote included a larger tree than what was installed and Daryl came out to look and agreed that it was a bit smaller than quoted. He replaced it right away and made things right.

Daryl responded to my e-mail (through Angie's List) within hours. We had an appointment scheduled the next day. He was on time and prepared. Daryl worked with me to come up with a plan..since I knew basically what I wanted but had no idea where to start. On the scheduled start date, his crew showed up on time and immediately went to work. They were very professional and the end result exceeded my expectations. I will definately use Daryl and his crew again.

Daryl came to the house to assess our yard and discuss options. He then emailed a detailed proposal the same day, including costs and estimated time to complete the work. I requested some changes and he quickly sent over the modified proposal. After getting HOA approval, he quickly scheduled the job. He was flexible when I had to change the date for work to be done. His crew showed up early in the morning, very carefully removed the big tall palm trees and then proceeded to remove the unwanted lawn and prepare the yard for the new trees and shrubs. They reconfigured the irrigation system to provide drip watering for all of the new plantings. They communicated what they were doing and asked for our input as they proceeded to be sure we would be happy with the arrangement of trees and shrubs. They did a fantastic job of creating a colorful desert landscape and finished by spreading the crushed granite and checking all of the watering. We now have a beautiful, low-water, low-maintenance front yard. Daryl and his entire crew were professional, caring, and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Green & Trim!

Quick response, thorough estimate, conveniently scheduled meetings and work times. From first call to finished yard it was about 2 weeks. Everyone was polite and professional. Daryl was knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. The crew was polite, professional, and always busy. The crew chief on our job was thorough and asked for our input before placing plants and trees. The work was done on schedule, and the crew stayed late on the fourth day to meet the promised timeline. I am very happy with the results.

I emailed Green & Trim to request an estimate on a Tuesday afternoon, and Daryl replied that evening to setup a meeting for the consultation. He arrived at our scheduled time Thursday morning. I explained my issues and showed him the property. He immediately recommended a couple options and discussed the benefits with me. I decided on what I wanted him to quote me for, and he left. I had a prepared quote emailed to me a day or 2 later that explained everything we talked about and detailed the price. While I was mulling over the estimate and contacting other companies for comparison, Daryl contacted me to check in and see if I had made any decisions yet. I let him know I was looking around but would get back to him soon. I believe I could have gotten the job done a bit cheaper, but Daryl left me with a feeling of professionalism and trust that I felt was worth a little extra. After deciding to move forward with Green & Trim for my project, we scheduled a date for the work to begin. The crew arrived bright and early and the work was completed the same day. New drainage system and grading was done exactly how it was described and I'm finally feeling stress free about the upcoming summer storms we're bound to have. I will definitely consider Green & Trim again for future projects.

I call and left a message to get my yard fixed up and set a scheduled maintenance, my 1st call was made on a Wednesday Daryl called me back the following day and said that he could not understand a single word I said, he did not specify if it was my phone or my proper English. I attempted to call him back on Thursday with my own phone and another phone not knowing why he could not understand me. I attempted to call him on Friday which happened to be Independence Day observed. There was no indication on his business voicemail that he would not be available on this day. Every business has a different choice of what holidays they observe and do not. It is the business owners responsibility to tell customers this information. The following Mondsy Daryl texted me about the situation. I responded to the text once then he questioned my review here. I called him at this point. He said he was apprehensive to contact me because my review was 'so scathing.' He felt that I was my responsibility as a new customer to know what his holiday schedule was and I should be reasonable. Bottom line: Daryl is a nice guy. He has mediocre communication skills, he shys away from tough situations and he's unprofessional. I agreed to edit my review because he is nice. For me a true professional is nice,communicates effectively and takes care of difficult situations with assertiveness, that's standard. After all,he ultimately didn't call me, he texted me and I called him, very unprofessional.

Another tree trimmer dropped the ball and didn't show after making an appointment.. Daryl with one email his crew showed up and completed the job and more...

I worked with Green & Trim to install pavers in the front of my house and couldn?t be happier with the results. Daryl Brown, the owner, was a pleasure to work with. He is knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and fair. He used quality materials and was able to perfectly match the new pavers to the ones we already had installed in a different area of the yard. I contacted Daryl through email and he got back to me within a few hours, gave me a quote and explained the whole installation process. We were able to get the job scheduled very quickly and Daryl showed up with his very able crew right on time and they got the job done very quickly. They even replaced a few of my older pavers that painters had damaged a few months prior at no additional charge. Upon completion, everything was left clean and was inspected for quality. The project was done on time and within our budget, and the pavers look beautiful.

Daryl came out to get and idea of what we wanted to do and got an estimate to us quickly. He was the third landscaping company I had called out for comparisions and his quote was the most detailed which to me meant he really understood what I was asking for and that made me comfortable knowing that there would be no misunderstandings and our quote would be most accurate. His price was fair and his guys started working on our project as soon as they could and got it done in a day and a half. We were impressed with the quickness, friendliness of the workers and quality of the job. We will use Green & Trim in any future landscaping projects and refer Daryl as much as we can. Thank you! Daryl was excellent right from the start. We have 3 young children (which is partially why it took me so long to finally write this review) and he worked around our schedule easily. He was extremely prompt in his replies and his bid came in the lowest for the job by about $1000. The work only took 2 days and everything looks beautiful. We were very happy with Green & Trim landscaping and we will definitely use them for any future landscaping projects.

The job went very well overall. Daryl, the owner, couldn't make it on the first day his guys showed up, so I worked with George, his foreman, to do the layout of the pavers and grass areas. There were about 5 guys that showed up every day for 3 very full days. They were hard workers and skilled at their jobs. Every evening the job site was cleaned up and tools were put away. When the job was done there were a couple of things I noticed that needed fixing. Daryl's guys came the next day and fixed all the issues to my satisfaction. Daryl will walk through the project with you and then go back and estimate the job. He doesn't take measurements at the job site, unlike the other individuals I had quote the job. I believe he mentioned using google maps to estimate the materials needed based on the discussed layout. There was a little issue with under-estimating the amount of pavers required to do this job. Daryl originally wanted me to purchase an additional pallet, but I disagreed as we had previously discussed the layout. In the end, Daryl got the extra pavers he needed to do the job and did not charge me for that, which I appreciated. I felt bad that he had to do that and think the whole thing could have been avoided with better documentation upfront. That said, my experience with Daryl is that he is a fair and honest man. I highly recommend him and his crew and would certainly consider him again for future jobs. The quality of their work is very good. They did a great job insuring that the paver patio slopes away from the house for drainage.

Daryl and the crew were friendly and accommodating. Response time was quick with good communication. On the scheduled day, Daryl arrived on time to go over the landscape plan. Then George, the foreman, made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted every step of the way. The team of 5 worked well together, were efficient, and courteous. We recommend Daryl's crew and will be using them again. We love our yard now!

Daryl and his guys helped us start with a clean slate in our huge, obnoxious backyard. It was not level, had low spots, and lots of strange things from previous owners. The huge slab of concrete that was below the level of everything else, probably at the forefront of that. We brought in 20 tons of dirt, leveled it, cleared out the crap I had dug up from the various junk pits the precious owners, and graded the whole yard. To top it all off we got a preemergent laid down to get ready for those spring weeds.
