Green & Trim Landscape

Daryl was very prompt, professional and gave us an excellent price for the work to be performed. He explained exactly what he would do and I felt very confident of the quality we could expect. He was flexible as to when to complete the work and was willing to schedule it the next day! Unfortunately my son got another offer of how to get the job done at a much reduced price and he decided to go that direction. I had to cancel the job after I had agreed to go forward with Daryl. Daryll was extremely professional about this although he had already scheduled his team to come do the job. I felt very bad about cancelling on him especially since I thought he gave us such a good price and was so responsive. I was impressed with how he handled all aspects of this situation. I would recommend him highly and would use him for future jobs I might have!

Work crew was prompt and efficient. Entire job finished in 4 1/2 days - amazing. The work was done with excellence. Daryl was easy to work with and open to our suggestions and ideas, making the job a collaborative effort.

We recently moved to AZ from the Northeast & brought our dog with us. When we bought the house 2 years ago, we landscaped then, but hadn't filled in where plants had died over the years. Nor had we planned an area where the dog could eliminate. Daryl came over to talk through some ideas with us & listened closely to what we did & didn't like. He suggested plants for the empty spaces & designed the narrow side yard for the dog. He put in a 1/4 minus rock path to make it easier on her pads, & mounds covered with myoporum to cool the space and allow her to lay on something cool & green. This was a big deal to us because we did not want any grass at all. The crew of men that installed did a terrific job. The guy extending the pavers was able to match the design & form very nicely. They trimmed all the trees & bushes & checked all irrigation lines. As they planted, they were very accommodating when asked to move things a little to this side or that. They cleaned up the entire area very well before leaving. Daryl was great to work with. His price was reasonable & fair. He listened well to the customer & took our needs and suggestions into account. I will certainly do business with him again.

They gave me an estimate and stuck to it. There were no extra charges which was nice. I like how they adjusted the design to my liking. They were very good at responding to me and my wants.

Overall the job went fairly well. Daryl actually turned up for the estimate (which could not be said of 2 other services we'd contacted), took the time to understand what we wanted, explained our options and submitted a quite reasonable bid. It was the higher of the two bids we collected, but we felt this would be the best company to handle our re-landscaping. There was a bit of a problem, however, when the workmen moved the paver border to an area outside our actual property line. A quick call to Daryl and his men were out the next business day to move the line of pavers. It turned out beautifully.

They seem to be timely and responsive. They took responsibility for their work. If a plant dies, they will replace it. As far as I could tell, everybody showed up on time, did their work in a timely manner, cleaned up, and left.

I contacted Green and Trim after reading the reviews they got on Angie's list. Daryl, the owner, is an honest and trust worthy person. I wasn't clear about exactly what i wanted to do with the yard except it needed work. He had a lot of ideas some of which i liked and others I didn't. We discussed and put together a plan to do what i decided i liked. The crew and Daryl arrived promptly on time. The job took the whole day and it was done well. It is important to understand that this is some what of a fluid process and you need to be involved if you have in mind what you want. They will do what ever you want but supervision is a small issue. Daryl does his estimates for other jobs during the day at which time his crew is working with the supervisor. Now, they work very hard but if you don't speak spanish there is a language barrier. While Daryl is away, the crew can get off track a bit as to exactly what to do which is where you need to provide direction. A minor issue as far a i was concerned but certainly something to be aware of. Over all though, you won't go wrong.

Green and Trim had great Angie's List ratings, so I contacted them first for a landscaping quote. Daryl was great about calling me back and stopped by my home that same day. I gave him my list of projects and asked him to quote each separately - I am trying to complete many home improvement projects before our 2nd baby arrives and I need to balance many different priorities. Daryl emailed a quote to me in the next day or two. I then asked him for for a follow-up quote to include a few new items and to look at less expensive options for some of the pricier tasks. I have not heard back from Daryl since. I'm not sure if he forgot or if he just decided he didn't want this project, but either way, I was disappointed in the lack of professionalism. It's better to tell a customer that you're not the right contractor for the project than to allow them to waste their time waiting for a response.

Daryl was great to work with on the project. He had to overcome some difficult challenges (ie. overzealous permit inspector, dust control "police" showing up, dump trucks getting ticketed by coming into town on wrong road, acidentally digging up my electrical lines, lots of nosey neighbors), and he handled them all very well. His crew did what they said they would do and were very hard working throughout the project.

Very well. they were quick and completed the job as i would have expected. Daryl was helpful in assessing my future landscaping needs and providing estimates on various things i wanted to do with front and the rear yards.

It looks nice now! All of his workers but one spoke Spanish. We had some really nice cactus in our front yard and they transplanted them to the back. I would use them again. Darryl was very nice. They came right out and fixed any errors. His employees were hard workers.

Daryl and his team were very responsive, thorough and prompt. He called back and came over for an estimate the same day. We checked two other services and went with Daryl because of his reputation here on Angie's List and his price. He made special efforts to accommodate our request for the same color gravel, and it was a great match. His workers were fast and did a good job. When Daryl had to leave for a dentist appointment, he came back and made adjustments to the irrigation heads so the job was done well. When I called a couple of days later to ask him for some more minor adjustments, he came right back and fixed the things I asked him to. All in all, he did a great job. We are very happy with the work, and will have Daryl back next year to build us raised vegetable beds.

I think that the owner is very trustworthy and certainly dependable. He came when he said he would. There were a couple of things that didn't go right, but he came back and made them right, which I really appreciated. We plan to use them in the future for yard clean up.

His prices were reasonable and they did great work. Daryl gave us good prices on plants, and he did a few little extras that he didn't charge us for. He suggested some very creative solutions to drainage problems, and Daryl's engineering background helped a lot. We've found very few service providers in the Phoenix metro area who provide professional service with a customer service attitude. Green and Trim is one of the few!

Darrell is a great guy and is very competitive. My regular guy did an eyeball estimate of 2400.00. Darrell got his tape out and did it right and saved me 600.00. He was prompt in all respects, and his large crew spread some serious rock around in short order. He also had his crew bring some rock into my patio area that was getting a little thin at no extra charge. I am completely satisfied and will make him my regular guy. I would never have found Darrell if not for Angie's List. This a great resource and worth the money!

In the end, I chose another landscaping company, but I think Daryl would have done a great job. He was one of my final three. He's easy to talk to, he listens to your ideas, he's happy create a landscape that works for you. His price was reasonable.

Overall I'm happy, with one exception. The landscape rock they used wasn't as nice as what I had. Same type of rock, but smaller pieces that don't look as nice, especially by the front entry. If it wasn't for that I would have given them an A for quality. The new plantings they put in are thriving after several months and survived the summer. They did a great job on the trimming and cleanup and the landscape lights work fine. I would use them again.

Everything went well. We got a quick bid and the work was done within a week. We are satisfied with how everything looks. They did honor the estimate or bid that they had given us.
