Excel Air Home Services

Description of Work: I contacted Excel Air Home Services based on a coupon that was included in a monthly mailer. They advertised air duct cleaning - whole house - for $49. One large man and another smaller man arrived at my home per our scheduled time and date for service. The "front man" proceeded to talk non-stop about the mid west, as he saw that I was drinking from a Green Bay Packers coffee mug.He said that he was from Minnesota, etc., etc. After he quickly evaluated my home, which is in an upper middle class community (Fountain Hills, AZ), and also completed his fast inspection of my vents, he stated that he had found mold and that instead of the $49, my cost would be $389!!! I flat out told him "no," that that price was unacceptable. Then he quickly changed the price to $314 as I am a "senior." He also said that my vents required a very expensive sanitizer/deodorant - "The one that doctor's offices use." He assured me that my home would smell "clinical," and that the mold situation would be remedied. He did not show me any mold, nor has my house ever had mold. But, I thought that he was the professional and if he saw mold, it ought to be corrected. He also said that he would return to my home in six months to provide me free mold correction service should I still have the mold. H e was intimidating, and I'm a woman alone, and over age 55. I consented to the $314 service. The service was completed in less than 20 minutes, and only after both men had dragged dirty vacuums into my home. Their shoes were dirty, and they knocked into my furniture and caused an expensive Bombay chest in the front entryway damage. After completion of service, I paid them. I then called Excel Air Home Services their home office. I left a message on the company's answering service. The office manager called me back and talked, talked, talked, but did not offer any discounts or apologies. DO NOT hire this company!! Even if they would come back to provide free service, I would send them away!!
