CYC Landscaping

This company did not complete all expectations and it took multiple trips in order to complete simple tasks. They were over priced and did not do the work that I paid for.

Initially, we had decided to go with another company whose quote was substantially less than that of CYC. After the company we had selected failed to meet their commitments, we canceled the contract and contacted CYC. Mike, the CYC salesman who originally quoted our project, gave us new start and completion dates and the work began as scheduled. The project involved removing the old concrete sidewalk and front door landing. The work went as scheduled until the work crew discovered that the landing at the front door was 8" thick. This delayed the excavation for roughly 3 hours, since it was necessary to bring in a concrete saw to cut the concrete into sections before it could be removed. The crew assigned to the project was always on time and worked hard while on the job (no leaning on shovels with this group). Robert, the crew leader was resourceful and polite and always kept us informed of progress.

Mark was prompt for our scheduled appointment which was 5 days after our e-mail. He spent spent over 2 hours assisting us in a design, suggesting plants and trees and answering all of our questions since we just moved from the Midwest and are not familiar with desert plants and irrigation systems. He worked up the quote and gave us a price on the spot. We were very happy with his professionalism and the price was acceptable, so, he called their office and scheduled the work to begin 12 days later. The crew showed up on the appointed day and most of the material was dropped off the night before. Todd was very courteous and friendly and they completed the job in 6 working days, which was 1 day earlier than Mark had promised. Two weeks after the job was completed, Kyle came out to follow up on the work.

I called them to try and schedule an estimate and mentioned that the work I wanted done was for a courtyard area and back patio area. I was interrupted mid-sentence by the receptionist who said that the project was too small for them and the minimum they would charge be $300 anyway. I found them to be rather rude and condescending not withstanding their offer of a "free estimate". I'm amazed at how this company received an Angie's List award, which they tout on their website.

I tried to get an estimate from this company, but the customer service was terrible. They were very nice and set an appointment for someone to come out and give me an estimate for some work at my commercial property in Mesa. I told them it was a small office complex when I made the appointment. They called me the day before to confirm the appointment. The day of the appointment, nobody showed up or called. After hurrying back to my office for the appointment and waiting for a half hour, I called their office and asked what happened. They told me the appointment was canceled because it's a commercial property. I felt that if that's the case, someone should have told me when I made the appointment and not wasted my time. And certainly, they should have called me to say the appointment was canceled. I was very disappointed at the time I wasted and now I'm still at square one.

It didn't go. The girl who answered the phone was not at all accommodating with an appointment. This after they left a flier on my door.

The sales representative, Mark, was friendly, punctual and extremely knowledgeable. We told him we didn't want a desert style backyard and he advised us on suggested tree choices, flowering plants and bushes, paver patio options, lightscaping and his office designed a beautiful tropical waterfall for the western corner of the yard. The installation took only four days and CYC Landscaping's employees were super professional, courteous, and hard working. They cleaned up their work of any trash every evening and didn't blast a boom box radio while they worked so they weren't disturbing our neighbors' peace and quiet. The final product is just STUNNING and the neighbor's have already told us their very jealous of our new lush tropical yard! We're so happy we've hired them to enclose and landscape our courtyard later this month, too!

Outstanding. The salesman was professional, the workers showed up when they said & did everything brilliantly. They even came back to check everything a few days later & fixed some things I didn't even know were wrong.

The people that did the work were good. I'm sure this was a mistake but I felt like they should have corrected it, but they refused.

The foreman for 90% of the work was Freddie who did an outstanding job. Nick finished the job, as we decided to add additional rocks and plants extra to the original design. Again, Nick and his team were just great. I also want to mention the staff at the office who were very courteous and helpful. Finally, Mark, who is one of the owners, was extremely helpful and honest. I highly recommend Complete Yard Care to anyone contemplating a landscaping project. Because of their hard work and finished product, we have hired them to carry out the weekly or bi-weekly yard maintenance for our property. Great job guys.

It went extremely well. They really listened to what we wanted and transfered our ideas into the front yard we wanted. All the staff that worked on the job were very professional. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. We even asked them to take a tree down in the backyard. They promptly gave us a quote and it was incorporated into the job.

Called them because their flyer said they would show up when they said they would which has been a thorn in our side since we bought our house. They did. In fact Mike was early. Not only did Mike take careful notes on our thoughts for the side yard project he gave very useful and good advice on other ways to go. The quote was high, but we've been burned by low ball quotes a lot now so we bit the bullet. The job started 1 day early and lasted only 3 days, 1 day less then estimated. The final result is TREMENDOUS to look at. A solid walkway in our side yard bordered by pavers and rocks as requested. They are now our go-to on large projects. May post pics in a few days.

Overall the experience was good. They arrived on time and finished on schedule. I had one big problem with the sod they laid, they did not level the ground before putting in the new sod. I talked to Kyle, and he agreed it was unsatisfactory, they came out the next week and pulled up all the sod and redid it.

I submitted an inquiry on through their website. Never heard from them and it has been two weeks. However, I have not had a chance to call them. Could be their website is not working properly.

While the crew (three guys) arrived on time, they went through the yard with blowers and chain saws much like I have seen by others, but at much less cost. Unfortunately all of the dirt and leaves were blown into the pool. Potted plants were knocked over, trimming was done as opposed to pruning, and dirty rakes were used to pull out the leaves that were floating on top of the pool. I have plenty of pool scoops that would have been much preferred to the dirty rakes. And the dirt lay in drifts at the bottom. After two hours the crew was gone and the pool was a disaster. The pool sweep stopped working because it was clogged with a small grapefruit that had been blown into the pool. It took me three hours to clean up after spending $600 and finding that minimal work had been done. It was no where close to measuring up against what they had committed to do. I called to complain and cancel further service, and I received the following, "OK, bye".

Disappointed doesn t even begin to describe my feelings about Complete Yard Care, but I m trying to keep this clean. In the process of a major cleanup, they cut out $600 worth of plants (conservative estimate) from the landscape without permission because they couldn t get the weeds out around them. Well, I question that, but what's done is done. When I requested compensation, they offered one free maintenance (worth $60). I took it because I was tired of trying to deal with them. Now that I m trying to schedule the maintenance, I can t get them to call me back to schedule at time. The woman who answered the phone even questioned my free maintenance offer from the original rep. I had to give them a decent review, even after the disaster, because they cleaned up very well, and took away all of the rubbish that I asked them to. I would not, however, ever recommend them to anyone. I have an extremely bitter taste about the whole situation.

Their representative showed up to give us a quote the time and day he said he would! This is a rarity we've been finding in Phoenix! The work was performed the day it was suppose to and everything was done EXACTLY as we wanted it. The yard/grass was IMMACULATE. We found their name on a flyer on our front door step and what caught our attention was their logo ''we'll actually show up!'' Not sure if they are price competitive, but when punctuality and quality of work are, it's definitely worth it.

Punctual, professional, kept us informed at every step of the process, & left the area completely clean. Only need for improvement is in returning phone calls. I would definitely hire them again.

TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL!!!! THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE. CHRIS WENTLAND DESIGNED A VERY NICE DESERT LAYOUT FOR US. THE TEAM PERFORMING THE JOB WERE ALWAYS ON TIME, VERY EFFICIENT AND HARDWORKING. ALWAYS CLEANED UP AT THE END OF THE WORKDAY. I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH THE WORK ETHIC THIS TEAM DISPLAYED. OFFICE PERSONNEL WERE PLEASANT AND HELPFUL.
