What a wonderful team to work with! Jeff was great during the design stage and all of his subs were fantastic. Punctual, kept things clean, explained when there was a problem (because there's always the unexpected), and worked with me to troubleshoot problems. The pocket door was late in coming and Jeff was so apologetic. They were all so great I didn't mind. The new wall and door came out looking great. We now have an additional bedroom/bonus room in our house and we love it. In fact, we're considering another project in our home and Jeff was the first person I called. Very, very happy with their work and professionalism.

Cook did an excellent job! This was a very large job (for us at least) and required a lot of planning and work. - Extended kitchen, adding approximately 220 SF. This required a special beam to span the new opening. - Addition of new laundry room. Approximately 100 SF. - Project included - New slabs, cutting into existing slabs, and new walkways outside the house. - Lots of electrical work; moving existing lines and adding new ones. - Lots of plumbing work; re-routing existing plumbing, installing new drain lines and pipes for laundry room. - Relocating the existing AC unit and installing a new one for the expanded kitchen. - Modifying the patio to blend with the new addition. - Designing a beam that could span the opening that we wanted to create. - Selection of cabinets, granite, and lighting for the project. - New windows, doors, and appliances. - Project took 13 weeks to complete. We came to Cook with a fairly complete plan (blueprints and specs) of what we wanted done. They did not just take the plans and ?run with them?, they took the time to review them and talk with us about what we wanted to accomplish and what our needs were. This allowed them to fully understand the project and to offer many improvements to the layout and design of the remodel. They were conscious of our budget and upfront (and accurate) with their estimates of what items/features would cost. At the end of the process we had a design that was perfect for us and within our budget. Pre - Construction - Cook is very organized. Before construction started, I was given an outline of what was going to be done and when. This is a rough outline and things change throughout the project but it shows that they are ?thinking things through? and planning ahead. - They also went over with me what to expect in regards to noise, dust control, etc. and discussed with me what my expectations were in regards to communication and access to the job site for their crews. - Construction began on the scheduled date and they were able to complete the job ahead of schedule. Construction - Process went well. My construction manager did a great job of informing me what was happening for a given day/week and was readily available to answer questions or to address problems. - Remodeling projects always have challenges. You never know exactly what you are dealing with until you open up the walls. Cook has a lot of experience with remodeling, and they do a great job of minimizing issues, but problems do arise. Cook is prepared for this and quickly evaluates the situation and comes up with a solution. Some of the items that came up for me were; walls not framed properly and plumbing that was done improperly during the original construction of the home. These were all handled efficiently and Cook kept the project moving forward. - The Cook employees and the Sub-Contractors that Cook uses were always polite, professional, and helpful. The jobsite was kept organized and clean throughout the project. Finish work - The final stages can be the most challenging; getting all of the fixtures, outlets, countertops, and cabinets all installed properly takes a lot of time and attention to detail. - There were some small challenges with the cabinets and faucets but again, Cook was right there to fix them and get the job done right. - Everything was installed properly and professionally and looks great. - The trim work on the cabinets is perfect; crown molding cuts all align, nail holes filled, doors aligned properly, etc. - All of the outlets are properly aligned, flush, and level. - Plumbing fixtures and R/O system working with no leaks or drips. - Existing drywall was patched, textured, and blends seamlessly with the existing walls. We are very pleased with the quality of the work done by Cook! Remodeling is always hectic and stressful but Cook did a great job of minimizing the stresses and getting the job done. I would definitely use them again!

Cook Remodeling did a great job and I am very happy with their work and the results. The covered patio is a beautiful addition to my home and it integrates seamlessly into the house, as though it was always there. I?m a detail oriented person and even I was amazed at the quality of workmanship throughout the structure. Cook was more expensive than the other estimates that I received, but not by much. James, the Project Designer, offered insightful options to get me to the price point that I wanted and I quickly realized that all the design services that James provided justified the extra cost. Always a pleasure to work with, James combined my thoughts about the covered patio with his very helpful ideas and designed a structure that was better than I could have imagined. It was also very helpful to see 3D drawings that James made of all the different designs that we considered. The price quoted was the price billed, except for additional work that I asked for after the job started. As will happen with a project like this, a handful of little issues came up over the course of the project and they were all resolved to my satisfaction quickly after I mentioned them up to Jeff, the Production Manager. Cook even made things right after one not so little issue came up when the work of one of their subcontractors didn?t turn out quite right. This was a shining example of Cook going above and beyond to ensure that their customers are happy. Another example was when Jeff went out and found a half dozen different roof tile samples to try and match the existing tiles on the house that were no longer being manufactured (he found it!). After a year of heat and the wind, dust and rain of the monsoon season (including the almost 6? of rain that fell in Chandler in one day in September 2014), the structure looks and performs as good today as it did they day it was built. Cook consistently went out of their way to ensure that I was happy with every aspect of their work. And I?m kind of a meticulous person, so that?s not easy to do. I would recommend Cook to anyone that is considering a similar project. I will call Cook when I?m ready to start my next project. I would trust them to take me though any future project at my home.

I give them an A for everything. I found them through Angie's List. I called them and they responded so I went with them.

We were able to schedule an appointment with Jeff Cook, the owner, very quickly. He was on time and professional, and seemed very knowledgeable. He was the only one of the three providers that we contacted that was able to give us a price quote on the spot. His price was in line with the others that we received. In the end, we decided not to have the work done as it was going to cost more than we were anticipating. If we decide to move forward with this or another project in the future, we will certainly contact Cook Remodeling.

He arrived on time and spent around a hour discussing options. He collected measurements and my thoughts and left to prepare a plan. When the plan was finished, I felt that He was imposing too many of his ideas and had eliminated some of the usable space for working in the kitchen. In the meantime I had worked with someone else who provide a much better plan, so I did not pursue this opportunity.

Jeff was very courteous and professional. He seemed very knowledgeable and had a good understanding of the work I wanted to have done. Unfortunately, his estimate was way above my budget for this time so I have decided not to do the work. $125 per sq. foot estimate seemed a bit pricey to me, but I imagine they do high quality work. I would consider using Cook Remodeling in the future should I have a need for their services.

I guess the town of Maricopa, AZ is not good enough for Cook Remodeling. The Designer felt our town is much too far out. Who does she think lives out here? A bunch of poor people? I will find someone else to give an estimate for the work we want done. Maybe this business does work for Rich people? I am very disappointed with this company.

Cleaned up nicely and everyday. Very professional and punctual. Job looks marvelous.

We were not overly impressed. We discussed what we were looking for and thought they would come back with a computerized version of what our kitchen could look like. I did not feel like we got enough information. I would not use this company in the future because they only came back with an example of work they had done in someone else’s home and two cabinet samples. I was hoping for more information and ideas because we were looking to spend a lot of money on a kitchen remodel.

Jeff Cook came out and queried my husband on what he wanted. A CAD was shown us along with an estimate. Everyone who came to work on the project was on time, very polite, professional, and did a great job! Jeff himself inspected the work completed making sure it came up to his standards. Many of our neighbors commented on the job saying the added garage didn't look added, but like an original part of the home. We would be happy to recommend Cook Remodeling to anyone, and already have.

I signed my contract on 7/27/13 and the last detail was finished 12/27/13. What was to be a 4-6 week job lasted 3 months from the start of the demolition. The over all look of the finished bathroom is beautiful. James Furzer, the project designer, was creative in his ideas and ready with suggestions I hadn't thought of. Jeff Gorszczyk, Production Manager, was diligent and patient with the numerous issues that had to be addressed. He seem to take it all in stride and never hesitated to address the problem. The tile contractor was the Wharton Company. They were called back so many time, I lost count, to repair chipped tile or grount that was frequently narrow in some places and wide in others. The company that installed my counter top was Custom Creative Marble and Granite and they too had to be called back to remove a poorly placed piece of granite on one side of the vanity that didn't match the way the granite was laid on the other side of the vanity. Problems related to caulking existed. The screen frame on my window was installed, but damaged with scratches that went down to the metal. The screen was replaced with an even worse damaged framed. Milgard was the manufacture of the window screen and the company they were obtained from said that was how most of them came and a third one might not be any better. The owner of Cooks was reported to have said that it met "industry standards". One of the mirrors that was cut from the original mirror was hung with a flaw about the size of a golf ball and couldn't be noticed unless you looked at it from a certain angle. It had to be replaced. Painting and grount lines had to be redone numerous times. The employees of Cooks Remodeling were excellent so it is difficult to say I wouldn't use them again. However, unless they make use of more professional subcontractors it would be a difficult decison to have them raise my sunken livingroom floor to all one level. The purpose of my bathroom remodel was so that I could age in place and the bathroom certainly would now allow for a wheel chair to get into the shower and the safety of it all being on one level gives me a sense of security. The overall look of the bathroom is awesome. If one looks too close flaws linger, but they are minor, but nonetheless flaws. I am happy to have written out my last check. Because of the numerous people who entered my home, they rekeyed all my locks and paid for a cleaning service due to the length of the mess. I generally, ws never home when the work was being done so I never knew who had been in my home. Cooks took my safety issues seriously and I appreciate that.

Really liked his input and we are deciding what we really want to do

We got three bids to enclose our two car carport into a garage. We live in South Tempe, where there are a large number of these carports. The usual advice is to go with the middle bidder. Cook Remodeling came in a bit higher than the other two. However, they were by far the most professional and personable. We appreciated the honesty that our project was going to cost a bit more than we anticipated, and we were willing to pay more to ensure quality. This was our first major remodel / addition, and it was somewhat nerve wracking to put your trust in someone and spend so much money. Long story short, we are extremely happy with our new garage and the service we received. It was money well spent. The project began on-time. As it progressed, we became obsessed with other garages in the area and came up with a few alterations. Cook Remodeling was very receptive to any changes we requested, and even had some suggestions themselves to have a better outcome. We've now had our garage for over a year and it's fantastic. We'll be looking to redo our pool/patio area in a few years and Cook Remodeling will be our first choice!

I signed a contract in August of 2012 with the understanding that work was to begin in October when I got back from a trip. Work started soon after I got back and everything went smoothly, even as I asked for small changes along the way. Cook provided a porta-potty for the workers. Twice when the work was inspected by a supervisor and minor oversights that I didn't notice were found, they had the workers come back to make corrections. The workers were all friendly and professional and I admire their skill. I'll have to admit that the quality of construction of the new enclosure is better than the rest of the house! I'm thinking of having my small kitchen area and a small bathroom remodeled and I very likely will have it done by Cook.

Awesome. Exceeded my fairly high expectations. Full documentation, strong project management and the team cleaned up every day so we didnt have to live in dust and junk every day. The bathroom was an awesome job especially. Just a highly professional organisation, did what they said they were going to do, on time, on budget. Great company, am using them again right now on another job.

Real estate investors need not call this company. They will not give repair estimates until AFTER close of escrow!

went well decided to do the work ourselves

I'll start off by saying that Cook Remodeling is one truly outstanding company! We originally were going to go with another contractor before we even knew about Cook, but I didn't feel comfortable with the other contractor's contract or the service we were getting prior to signing, so we did not sign. That is when we found Cook Remodeling and we are sure glad we did! Within a day or two, we met with their designer, James. Since my wife and I both work, our schedules make it difficult to schedule meeting times during the day. All James did was come over to our house in the evenings after work 5 times in a span of 10 days to put together the design for our remodel. He was very insightful. He offered suggestions, but ultimately, he listened to what we wanted. If we wanted to do something that he didn't think was practical, he told us why he thought we shouldn't do it and offered an alternative. He picked up samples of what we picked out so that we could see it in the bathroom before making a final decision. The design process was awesome from beginning to end, and after it was complete, we signed our contract. The construction process was awesome too. Our Project Manager was Scott and we also worked with Jeff quite a bit, who is the Production Manager. Chris, the carpenter on our project, is very talented and does amazing work. For example, the shower bar we ordered was on back order, and when it finally arrived, it was defective. We also didn't like the fit as we thought it might be too long. We looked online to see if we could get a shorter one, but the manufacturer didn't offer it in the color we wanted. Not to worry. Chris managed to turn a defective 30 inch shower bar into a 24 inch shower bar without any scratches on the finish. It looks like it came right out of the mold. Amazing work! There was constant daily communication throughout the project from Chris, Scott, and Jeff. We got frequent updates and were involved. They asked questions if they were not sure how we wanted something done, which was great and we really appreciated. They did everything we asked them to do and more. This is a great company and we can't wait to hire them to do our spare bathroom next year! .

The process began with an excellent designer who evaluated our master bathroom, made suggestions, did architectural drawings, and took us out to select the materials to be used. The complete process from beginning of construction to completion was about 7 weeks. A project supervisor was assigned and was in constant communication with us. As with any major project, there were several minor issues, which they dealt with promptly and to our satisfaction. They were very professional and competent from beginning to end. We had one major issue after the work was completed... a leak in the shower plumbing wet our closet carpet and warped a couple of closet boards. This is where they really shined ... within 1 hour of my call to them, they were onsite. They took full responsibility immediately and set up the process to get it fixed. They repaired the plumbing leak and paid for our carpet cleaning, replacement of the damaged closet boards, and provided racks to hang our clothes on while the repair was underway. In the end, the bathroom and closet were restored to pristine condition. We are so delighted with them that we have recently contracted to have them remodel our guest bathroom. Cook Remodeling is outstanding and I can't recommend them highly enough.

They did their very best to make sure everything was done right. Considering the long distance, the job went well.

Our experience with Cook Remodeling was excellent. They and the people working for them were punctual, friendly, and knowledgable. The price was very reasonable and they kept very close to our budget requirements. They kept the site super clean, they communicated with us as to how things were going, and what was coming up next, and they were very responsive to any concerns and questions. The quality of their work was also superb. We are thrilled with the completed project.

They did a good job. When I initially talked to them, I had some reservations about whether I was going to stay in the house, and they allowed me to extend the life of the Big Deal. I've heard nothing but good things about this company. If and when I ever do any major remodeling, they will be first on my list. I just have to figure out what to do first, and the budget has to fit with my needs. I think they would be an excellent company to work with, and I'd love to have them do my home, but right now budgetary constraints prevent that.
