They were supposed to come between 8-10am and came at 8:15. When came with 4 people - 2 did not speak English. The one who did and seemed to be the lead said I needed to take all my pictures off the walls. I was not told this and just removed lamps/trinkets as I paid extra to have furniture moved. I also did not remove things from my back room as I was told since this was a 3 day job I could have them work on the front rooms first then move to the back. The installer said I should have moved everything and he left me for 30 minutes in which time I removed 20 pictures and moved some things out of my back room. He came back to say he was not going to do the job - "his time is money". I said mine was too and I took of 3 days to have this done. He said he "informed his supervisor he was not going to do the job so it's not his problem". Slammed the door and left. So I'm left with all my pictures off the walls and things moved all over the house and no tile as planned. I called Lowes and complained and then cancelled the order. Called Cesar's also but the girl on the phone said the installer was "upset" because when they first came in I mentioned I just had gotten back from a trip the day before and he thought I was too tired to move all the pictures and things he wanted me to do. WHAT?? Now I have to have an assessment done of my level of energy by a carpet installer before getting work done? Anyway, I feel like I dodged a bullet - having people like that do work like this cannot have a good ending. Looked at other reviews on line and they are not so good. I'd ask Lowe's for another installer or go somewhere else.
Description of Work: They were supposed to install hardwood tile in my home.

Description of Work: Ceramic tile installation. Picked out tile at Lowes and bought it from them. Lowes contacted with this company for the vinyl floor and carpet removal. They did a flawless job. Cleaned up after installation and advised us on how to care for floor

I went to Lowe's to purchase carpet for a house that is being repaired. I had to initial several pages absolving the installer from any responsibility for damages and spelling out my responsibilities. I hired a handyman to work at the house on the day of the installation and to be my representative to fulfill my responsibilities for the installers. The challenge was to coordinate these two contractors to be present at the same time and still be productive. I worked with Norma and explained to her the conditions that would be present the day of the installation. The handyman who was going to paint the garage would tape himself inside the garage, making his availability limited. I explained this to Norma and emphasized that it was important that the installation begin at 8:00am. We agreed that the start time would be 8:00am. I emphasized to the handyman that it was important to be available at 8:00am. I called the handyman about 8:30am and the installers had not arrived. I then called Cesar's Floor Covering and was told that their installers had a two hour time window (from 8:00am to 10:00am) for them to arrive. I asked them if this was true, why didn't they tell me this? After I was either told or left the impression that they didn't have to tell me about the time window, I called the manager of the carpeting department at Lowe's to explain what was happening. This manager checked back with Norma and was told that I was told about the time window because they always schedule their installers to arrive within a time window. Two hours is a reasonable time window and if I had been told, I could have changed the assignment for my handyman to allow for this time window. The installers arrived about 10:00am. I can understand miscommunication, mistakes or just oversights. but I have no tolerance for being lied to. This makes me wonder what else Cesar's Floor Covering is lying about. Customers' trust in a business is one of the most important assets that a company can possess. It is also disturbing to me that the a manager at Lowe's would condone this action by one of their contractors. However, Lowe's engages in deceptive actions by stating that they charge $139.00 for carpet installation only to have additional charges for almost anything like charging for removing existing carpet. Truth in advertising is not in effect for Lowe's carpet installation. It is now my position that I have no trust in Cesar's Floor Covering and Lowe's. I will not do any future business with either of these companies.
Description of Work: Installed about 1,200 square feet of carpeting in 4 rooms and hallways.

The men who did the job, I thought, were really nice. They showed up a little later than expected but I was really pleased with the outcome of the whole job. I appreciated how helpful they were.
Description of Work: Cesar's Carpet installed a brand new carpet in my family room, dinning room and four bedrooms. This all took 1 day.
