Description of Work: My father once told me, " . . . If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. . ." In a moment of weakness, I forgot that advice and signed a solar water heating package "deal" with Adair Homes. Had I used just a little discretion, I would have seen the scam and avoided a $15,000 rip-off. Adair Homes solar water heating package is a complete scam. They inflate the price by 3Xs the price to get a huge rebate from the IRS requiring the customer to commit tax fraud to receive it, and when the IRS finds this, YOU are the one charged with tax fraud, and required to pay the difference. Adair is paid $15,000 by the customer taking out loans to pay for the following: Solar system ($3,500) Duct sealing ($400) Radiant barrier ($400) and AC maintainance, whether you need/want it or not. But they can't tell you a price for this or labor. Also, they began work within 36hrs. We talked with their rep Sat eve, and Mon 7 am they arrived in masse to install the heating system. After researching the company (which I hope everyone will before they fall for the scam) I discovered they are no longer affiliated with the BBB, but when they were, they had an F! rating Registrar of Contractors shows 3 complaints, soon to be 4 with mine! Do your home work and do NOT do business with Adair Home, they are scam artists..

Adair is paid $18,000 by the customer taking out loans to pay for the following, solar system ($3,500) duct sealing ($400) radiant barrier ($400) and AC maint weather you need/want it or not. But they can't tell you a price for this or labor. Also, they began work within 36hrs, and without a contract. We signed nothing! We talked with their rep Sat eve, and Mon am they installed the heating system without our approval. After researching the company (which I hope everyone will) BBB? This is a VERY brief description of our nightmare with Adair solar, do your home work and do NOT do business with them. They will not explain their pricing, they all are extremely rude, especially Doug Adair. This package they offer is a scam, which was evident from that first day! And all they can do for you is rip out the equipment that you didn't agree to in the first place!
