Services we offer
We offer full service or chemical only services. Full service includes weekly pool and spa maintenance-cleaning entire pool/spa, emptying baskets/nets/screens, vacuum and backwash as needed. Testing water for accurate chemical levels and add required chemicals. Inspection of cleaning system, water levels, hoses, baskets, nets, filters, valves, plumbing, electrical and motors. We also handle equipment repairs, special maintenance, acid wash and tile cleaning projects all at a reasonable rate.
Joey cleans our pool on a weekly basis and does an excellent job. We moved to AZ almost a year ago & were new to owning a pool. We started for the first month with a different company and changed to Sky Blue because we weren’t happy with the service of the other company. Joey always answers all of our questions and explains everything clearly and has saved us money compared to the other company. If I call him at 7:30 on a Saturday night with an “emergency” question he has not problem answering or at least getting back to me quickly. We highly recommend this company and the owner Joey.

I have an infloor cleaning system, Chlorinated pool, with fiber filters. I called the company that installed the pool three years ago. They told me that my pool was probably due for drain of old water, cleaned, and refilled. I called Sky Blue Pools(SBP), on a recommendation from a friend, they came by and confirmed pool needed to be serviced. They gave me a quote that was $650. less than the pool installation company wanted to charge me at their base price. I asked SBP (Joey) about my brine line around water line tiles. He said it was about the worst he has seen, and told me it would cost me $3.50 per lineal foot for them to erase it. Joey measured my perimeter and gave me a price, still $370 lower than my other quote, that didn't include line removal. The next day SBP (Joey and Christie, the owners) came by and set up to drain my pool, which took about 14 hrs to complete. We had a cold spell of rainy cold weather that delayed the cleaning a couple days. Joey, Christie, and some other workers showed up and removed the water line mark with a glass bead sprayer. (beautiful job see photos) then they carefully prepped and pressure cleaned the pool pebble tech sidewalls. I couldn't believe all the embedded grime they removed. SBP cleaned out my infloor drain, which was partially clogged with sand from three years of sand storms etc. They cleaned my pump 4 cannister filters and advised me that they were due for replacement, soon. Their price for the filters installed was $110. cheaper than the local pool supply company. SBP then refilled my pool. They came back three times to ensure that the pool chemicals were properly balanced in my pool (no added cost for chemicals or service) and that my pool pump was properly set to auto clean. Additionally, they told me that my pool pump was set to run way too long (8hrs. in winter- 12 hrs. in summer) and that it was not properly synced with the ozone water purifying system. (all of the settings and times were set by the original pool company). Everything is working much more efficiently with the new settings. SBP told me to call them if I had any questions or if I needed anything else done. Sky Blue Pools also cleans and does routine maintenance on pools. They don't charge you mileage or service call, I know they have accounts as far west of the valley as Tonopah, AZ. Sky Blue Pool Service, is a complete pool service company. The owners, (Joey and Jackie) are good people, and they give great personalized service. I highly recommend Sky Blue Pool Service.

Someone from this business, I assume the owner, returned my call on a Saturday afternoon fairly quickly and asked me several questions about what was going on as well as asked for several pictures of the pools plumbing system. He was admittedly unsure of what could possibly be wrong. So he told me he would reach out to some other people who may have an answer and get back to me Monday. He never got back to me, I tried texting him after a few days on the same number we exchanged pictures on and now can not get a response. I’m not sure if this issue is real complicated or not but this business was zero help to me and was pretty unprofessional in that I can not get a call back or answer now.
Description of Work: My pool vacuum is not functioning properly and neither is the heater. The two issues seem to be related but not 100 percent sure.

Sorry [Member Name Removed] your right I should have gotten back to you. I usually try to be helpful even in areas not in my realm like heaters. I never did hear back from the heater guys and I just plain forgot to call you back. I did receive your one text which sparked me to call the heater guy again which he never got back to me either. I sincerely apologize again you are right that is completely unprofessional.

They went above and beyond what I asked them to do. I hired them to fix a pool light and the switch, and they fixed that and more. They sprayed painted all of the white PVC a neutral color so that it was more appealing. The quality of work was way above my expectations and they even wrote me a letter stating the condition of the pool equipment that helped me sell my dads house. I would highly recommend them!!

My husband called and spoke to him again this morning and then we purchased the materials needed and did the work ourselves. He was very helpful and we will be calling him back when we have another problem that may need his expertise.
Description of Work: He was prompt the answer the phone and then discuss the problem that my pool was encountering. He gave me prices when I asked and was honest with me and let me know that my husband and I could do the work that needed to be done after visiting Home Depot for the materials needed.

Joey called me very quickly after I requested information. He came out right away and was fair in pricing after explaining exactly what was going on with my pool and what would be needed to get it so we could swim for our pool party in 3 days. He was there daily till it was looking blue and beautiful again.

Our pool is "sky blue" thanks to Joey's team!!
Description of Work: We purchased a home about 5 months ago that had a pool/spa/water feature, run by a relatively complex system of 4 pool pumps. The pool was green and we had some immediate needs for plumbing, cleaning systems, pool lighting, leakages, ongoing maintenance, etc. We originally found Sky Blue Pools on angie's list and gave them a call due to great reviews. Joey was very responsive and came right over to give us an assessment. The whole team is very honest and very knowledgable and clearly takes significant pride in their work. Prices are quite reasonable and service has been awesome.

Pool was neglected for 3.5 months by another pool service. Sky Blue did a fabulous job of cleaning my green pool, and replaced most of the damaged or broken pool parts, which the other company never acknowledged..( motor, pop ups, draining and cleaning, refilling). They showed me all broken parts, explaining how they worked, etc. I would recommend them to anyone needing pool work.

Joey and Christy make a great team and have been very helpful to me these last few weeks. They were recommended to me by a friend and colleague and Joey came out right away to assess the situation-my pool pump was making some weird noises. Joey and Christy have been back a couple times since teaching me about the pool pump and chemicals. Both of them are very knowledgeable, fair, humorous, nice, and I trust them for routine maintenance or servicing anything on my pool that needs cleaned, fixed, or repaired. It's comforting to know there is a such a great pool company in the west valley.
Description of Work: Outstanding Pool Service & Maintenance for the Southwest Valley! They replaced 4 pool pump cartridges, got new chemical test strips, a new chlorine floater, and plenty of new knowledge about my pool and pump system.

Description of Work: regular pool service and repair of problematic pump. They leave a note of what they did exactly each week, proving they were there. This team has done an outstanding job for me, they are exceptionally reliable--these are my third pool cleaners. We've been with Sky Blue Pools for nearly a year now. We initially found them on Angieslist and were happy with their initial response and startup fees. We bought a house that had been empty for about 6 months and the pool needed a little bit of care to get back in shape. Sky Blue came to the rescue and we haven't looked back. Super competitive rates (including chemicals), reliable service, and no upselling. We've truly appreciated quality work simply getting done and being able to enjoy the pool with no worry. I had some initial work done by another west valley provider located in Litchfield Park and I can't explain how much happier I have been to work with Joey and the rest of the folks at Sky Blue. Highly recommended!

Thus far we've been very pleased with the quality of service. Joey recommended a few things be replaced, which he took care of ordering and replacing. He also noted the age of our pool heater and worked with us to scope out the cost of having it either serviced or replaced. We ultimately decided to replace the heater, based on comparing the efficiency of our current (now old) heater with a newer one. The cost noted is per month, including chemicals and a once-a-week visit, complete with notes on what was serviced and the condition of the pool. I feel very satisfied thus far with the quality of the work and look forward to having a clean and worry free pool.
Description of Work: We recently purchased a new home that came with a lovely in ground, heated pool and my husband and I were interested in making sure we were servicing/cleaning the pool correctly so we reached out to Sky Blue for that. Joey came and was incredibly helpful, pointing out things we wouldn't have known before, items that might need to be replaced and/or addressed.

I hired Sky Blue Pools to maintain chemical balance of pool, clean filters, and report any problems that need to be address while we were away for the summer. I read the other reviews: all A ratings. Unfortunately, these reviews do not match my experience with Sky Blue Pools. On September 9, 2013, we came home to a deep green pool: not a sky blue pool. The pump motor had stopped working at some point. I called Joey Grant ( company owner) and asked why he failed to provide the weekly pool service I was paying for. He said he was servicing the pool on a weekly basis. I then asked him, if he had been servicing the pool weekly, why my pool was green. It was so green I could not even see the vacuum hose beyond 6 inches from the surface of the pool. He said, "because the pump motor is not working". My next questions were, if he was servicing the pool weekly and knew the pump wasn't working, why he didn't call me so I could have it fixed before the pool turned green. His explanation was that, " he was waiting for a pump motor that he might (maybe, not for sure) get for free from another customer, and "he was going to give free to me and install" - free motor, free install. He said he "was then going to clean up my pool - for free I'm assuming because he was responsible for allowing it to go green. All this pretentious service is much more then I was paying for, and way beyond what I would ever expect from anyone - even the Mother Theresa of pool service. I suspect he, knowing that no one was around to observe, wasn't servicing the pool weekly: perhaps he was showing up every other week or once every 3rd week judging from the condition of the pool. His normal routine is to leave weekly notes reporting the status of the pool. The last written note he left giving the status of the pool was dated August 16, 2013. The note said he added acid to the pool, and it made no mention of any problem with the pump motor. We returned home to the green pool on September 9th. My guess is that he returned to service the pool perhaps two or three weeks from the date on the last note and discovered a broken pump and a green pool. Judging from the condition of the pool, it could not have deteriorated to the state it was in in just six or seven days. Joey Grant was very prompt with cashing the monthly checks I was sending him for the service. Unfortunately , he was not diligent at providing the service the checks were paying for. After I fixed the pump and cleaned up the pool myself, I called Joey asking if he thought he should reimburse the monthly fees he charged for the service he failed to fulfill. He agreed to reimburse me for the months of August and September. He said he would mail a check. I never received the check. He is not aware that I subscribe to Angie's List. So, he's in for a bit of a surprise when he sees this review. And I expect we will all see a prompt response from Joey when he reads this review and attempts to explain all this away.
Description of Work: The provider was payed to maintain chemical balance of saltwater pool, clean filters, and report any problems. They were payed to perform these tasks on a weekly basis while we were away from home for the summer months.

The pool has looked great since they started servicing it 8 weeks ago. They are very knowledgeable and professional. The price is lower than the lousy national chain we had before them. The technician who comes to check the pool every week is knowledgeable. Other companies we've had send people who don't know much of anything about pools.
Description of Work: They keep the chemicals in the pool to the proper levels, sweep the pool and empty the baskets - all the baskets. Pool services we've had in the past would empty only the skimmer basket, leaving the pump basket and vacuum leaf basket full.

They have done a beautiful job of maintaining our pool. They are also great at accomodating us with our periodic use of their services. Several other companies we initially checked into wanted continuous contracts only. We are very happy with the service and our arrangement and plan to continue using them.
Description of Work: Sky Blue Pools has maintained our pool weekly (whenever we are out of town and we leave for several months at a time) since June 2010. They leave notes weekly on what was done to the pool and occasionally call us if there is something out of the ordinary and may need to be repaired. Joey (owner) is knowledgable and honest. Note: The $69 listed above is a monthly charge for weekly service.
