I made the above call at about 8:30 A.M. and under duress agreed to price and was told I have an 'open appointment' for the entire day and tech would call me before coming out. I again requested emergency one hour service and was told again, this would be impossible as 'they could not locate their tech.' P I did mention my concerns about possible gas leakage, not feeling well and need for emergency service NOW but rep ignored all vital info. I would have called gas company but prior experience suggested that it would take them several hours to get a tech out, at best and indeed have prior issues with my utility provider and services some tech perform locally. I spent about 7 minutes with a Pitzner rep on the phone, trying to get a firm time and schedule it ASAP but rep refused to relent about my having an open appointment. I informed them that after I hung up the one hour service committment began tolling and politely hung up. While waiting I began calling other heating/cooling firms and lucked out on one which was local. The tech promised to be at my place to check shut off of appliance w/in 10 minutes and come out tomorrow for diagnosis of problem for $79.00...I made a firm commitment to other company. I called Pitzer's back at around 8:45 A.M. and cancelled appointment, this time I spoke to a different women in scheduling and she too informed me that they could not provide emergency service or promised 'one hour service' as the Kingman tech. was still 'missing..' I advised her would report this to corporate headquarter on Net which I did and never got a response back... The locally owned second company was on my premises as promised in less than 10 minutes and secured the heater and did return as promised next day for $79 to diagnosis problems... Lastly, have never used this company before despite receiving regular mail advertisement. Based on solely circumstantial evidence from would guess about 10 other neighbors, friends, etc...was told based on their experience that company is bad, overcharges, replaces things that do no warrant repair and to avoid. Based on my experience, and lack of corporate response to my complaint on point, I would urge all locals caution as I believe(have J.D. from Univ. of AZ) company falsely advertising and is likely going out of business in my area.
Description of Work: Last Sunday 5-24/15 the pilot light on my Coleman heater went out...I was sick and on medications but was pretty sure I had completely shut off natural gas flow to heater. BUT...in general have extremely cautious with all gases...during past 20 years have had serious CO poisoning from heaters and in 2010, a licensed and bonded local HVAC contractor while replacing a controller unit in my heater, made a male-male coupling on the heater's gas line which but sheer luck should have blown me to pieces...Hence now am extremely cautious with natural gas heaters... Called Pitzer's first, as to me, having both 'Emergency service' 24/7 and 'our hour service' strongly in their large ad in local yellow pages sounded like my best option. I called and spoke a nice woman, who took details, told me I would be charged $109 to get a tech out to check shut down and perform diagnosis of heater problem. I agreed and reminded her this was an emergency, based on info provided and requested, one hour service...as I was sick and wanted to back to bed assured that heater would not become critical while I was sleeping. The female rep for firm, told me that this would be impossible, as "they could not find their technician." Am clueless how a firm which advertises 24/7 serrvice and 'one hour.' "or ur don't pay a dime." loses its techician, but re-iterates I wanted tech on premises ASAP.

On living in this new construction home for only two months, the sewer line became suddenly blocked. The shower drained very slowly, the toilets began bubbling and then threatened to overflow. We called several plumbers. The first was booked up. The second never returned our call. The third was Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. The plumber arrived within about an hour or so, he was very professional and friendly. Communicated with us about what we thought was going on and letting us know what he planned on doing. He went right to work, let us watch what he was doing, and completed the job in a timely manner. The charge matched the estimate and the problem was cleared. I hope we don't need a plumber again any time soon, but if we do we will call Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. We highly recommend them.

To whom it may concern; I am not sure what this Angie's List Member is speaking of when they say we "did not do what we promised" According to our records, we have only been to this address twice in the past two years. The history is as follows: 9/14/2011: Customer called to ask us to look at their evaporative cooler. Comments in notes say customer is not sure if cooler can be repaired or if it should be replaced. We went to their home, replaced the entire wet-section, including the 12" celdek pads and charged a total of $1,358.07, which included a 1 year maintenance agreement. 4/16/12: Performed maintenance on new evap cooler. Found unit pretty gunked up. Cleaned and got ready for service. No money exchanged hands as this was paid for at the previous visit. According to our records, there has been no other service performed at this address. Also, the Last Name on file for this address matches the member's name, but the first name does not. As it has been a year and a half since we last went to this customers home, I am not really sure if this should be considered a valid report. Hi [member name removed], I am sorry that you feel that way. I just reviewed your history and I agree the Lennox unit you had installed in June of 2007 has definitely had its share of problems. Here is a history of service performed at your home after the new unit was installed: 6/19/07 Sold new unit for $8,457.50 (including tax) included was a 5 year parts and labor warranty 12/6/07 Found unit not cooling. Discovered internal copper line had sprung leak. Repaired under warranty, no charge to customer 12/30/07 Found Blower motor bad, replaced under warranty, no charge to customer 1/24/08 Discovered insulation had come loose and lodged up against blower housing. Repaired, no charge to customer 2/12/08 Blower motor failed AGAIN (probably from insulation blocking airflow) replaced blower and wheel under warranty. No charge to customer. 6/10/08 Reset thermostat (not a warranty call) and did not charge customer 1/22/09 Performed Maintenance. Noted compressor was making noise. No charge, included with purchase of new unit. 2/17/09 Replaced compressor under warranty, no charge to customer. Also replaced UV lightbulb. Customer charged for bulb and instalation 4/14/10 Performed maintenance. Customer charged $119 for one year Comfort Club. 5/1/11 Performed maintenance. Customer charged $119 for one year Comfort Club. 12/30/11 Found compressor had failed. Due to not performing annual maintenance as per manufacturer's recommendations, warranty was void. Went to manufacturer and convinced them to cover the part portion of the warranty.Manufacturer would not cover labor, freon, shipping and other incidentals. Customer charged $1,233.37 for new compressor. Compressor was given 1 year parts and labor warranty. Compressor installed on 1/10/12 The techs that were at this customers home were Brian, Chris and Greg. Each of those technicians has 20+ years in the field and are all good solid technicians. Every time the customer called, we responded promptly. Only after a major repair happened that was not covered under warranty do we get a negative review. (and that almost a year after we had been there) I am truly sorry that this customer had all these issues that were all manufacturer related. None of the work we performed was/is called into question. None of the warranty work ever performed was due to faulty workmanship. Every breakdown was caused by faulty equipment, that unfortunately we sold. As a service company, we maintain, install and repair HVAC and Plumbing equipment that is built by humans, that was designed by humans and eventually, as with all mechanical equipment, will eventually fail. We strive to do our best to respond promptly, send out a fully stocked truck with a technician who has been drug tested, background checked and is properly trained to do the job. Again, I am sorry that the equipment we installed failed, but we always kept our end of the bargain. I would be more than happy to offer a special credit to Leslie if she wanted to get that unit out of her home. Not sure what else I could do, except apologize one more time. Everytime they come out they are fantastic. They are quick, friendly, and explain everything to you. There are no hidden fees and they are very upfront about everything. They are the only heating and air conditioning company that we use.
