Coulston Custom Construction was recommended to us by our real estate agent, who has lived in Sierra Vista for many years and just had a house built by Robert Coulston. According to our agent, Robert was excellent. Happily, after working closely with Robert and his son Berto throughout the site search, planning, construction, and followup phases of the project, we agree. At first, I thought I would have to be on site to supervise the construction to make sure that everything was being done as specified. But after working with Robert for a few months, it became obvious that he had my back. You can really trust this guy. Of course everything was not absolutely perfect, because occasionally subcontractors would arrive late and hold up the process. But when that happened, Robert followed up aggressively and got them to show up and do their work. He supervised them closely, and insisted that they re-do any job that was not up to his high standards. Many other contractors, I understand, visit the construction site infrequently, but Robert was there nearly every day. I further understand that many other contractors charge a hefty fee for any changes to the plan. Not Robert. He helped us make several changes to the original plans with absolutely no change fee. During and at the end of the process, he went through the financial details so that we know exactly where every penny went. And, amazingly, when several subcontractors unexpectedly raised their estimates, he absorbed the overrun rather than pass it on to us! Then there was "the personal touch". After the house was essentially finished, we had a hard freeze for several nights, but we were not there to watch for freeze damage. No problem. Robert knew we were not there, so he checked out the house several times to make sure everything was okay. Our neighbors had burst pipes, but we came through with no problems at all, thanks to the quality of Robert's work. they arrived on time, carefully hung a plastic dust barrier. then started removal of fire placed.the next day, laid tiles, and prepped the walls.the next day painted the walls. Great job, we received many compliments.

Coulston did a fantastic job. They advised us on the best way to approach the lowering of the bar, and you can't even see where the damaged drywall was anymore, it blends that perfectly. Their work is terrific, and the cost was far far less than other quotes we received.

It went wonderfully. They were there early everyday, respectful of our home, our family and animals. Worked quickly and professionally. We changed our mind on a couple of items mid project and they were fine with it. Adjusted the estimate (downward) without complaint! The custom made door frames are beautiful! The installed doogy door, sliding glass door, wall sections all turned out great. The kitchen counter move and cabinet rehang went good too. They think about the finished product and are a dependable family owned business. Will definately use in the future!
