Terrible. AIr Tech will not take my phone calls to resolve this issue. Currently, I have two complaints filed with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Since Mr. Smith at Air Tech is not attempting to resolve this issue, we will be going to an administrative hearing soon to present my complaint to the Judge. If Mr. Smith does not respond to the hearing, his license to do work in AZ will be suspended.
Description of Work: #1. Contract violation: On December 24, 2008, Air Tech diagnosed my heater as having a bad control board. We agreed that the price would not be over $666.00. Since I was selling the house, the buyer required 3 times the estimated repair costs to be put into escrow to cover any and all unexpected repairs, which Air Tech agreed to. On 12/29/2008, Air Tech submitted an estimated repair invoice for 3 times the estimated repair price ($2000.00 plus tax of $111.20) to the Title company. On 01/08/2009, Air Tech (finally) installed part and repaired the heater. On 01/12/2009, I received a bill from Air Tech for $1547.51. I have tried numerous times to phone Air Tech, however Mr. Smith will not take my calls and I always get his voice mail. The only way I can speak with Mr. Smith on the phone is if I call using someone else's phone. The few times I have spoked with him regarding this, he will not give me any answers and always says that he "will get back to me", which he never does. I have sent Mr. Smith two letters requesting him to honor the contract, however he refuses to do so. On February 10, 2009 I asked Berg's Heating and Air Conditioning to give me a price quote to repair the mother board. Berg's estimate, including tax, is only $435.00. #2. Warranty: I informed Mr. Smith that the part he replaced was under warranty and in order for me to obtain a reimbursement from Whirlpool, I need the part number, the vendor he used and the old part returned. On Monday, 09 February 2009, I called Mr. Smith using Pioneer Title's phone (he would not answer using my phone). I informed Mr. Smith that the part was under warranty and I needed the information and old part for warranty replacement. Mr. Smith said he would have to "dig up" the information and would get back to me by Wednesday, 11 February 2009. To date, Mr. Smith has not supplied me with any of the information or the old part. I have sent Mr. Smith a letter asking for this information, however he refuses to provide it. #3. Unauthorized and Non-contracted Work: Whle building a new house, in late December, 2008, during my HVAC bid process, I solocited proposals from many HVAC Contractors, including Air Tech. While I was still considering all proposals and before I accepted any bids, Air Tech showed up to my house and began cutting holes in my roof for the roof penetrations. As soon as I discovered this, I called Mr. Smith at Air Tech and demanded that Air Tech stop all work on my house since we had not agreed to a price, or equipment to be installed and I had NOT accepted his proposal (he had not yet submitted a written proposal to me). Since Air Tech had not supplied me with anything in writing, I could not and would not sign a contract nor authorize any HVAC work to begin on my house. On 01/12/2009, I received a bill from Air Tech for $976.43 for this unauthorized and non-contracted work. On the few occasions I have been able to contact Mr. Smith, I have told him that this work was unauthorized, yet he continues to send me bills.
