Description of Work: Remove and replace AC Condensor(capacitor) to get cool air blowing versus the 90+ degree air blowing around with AC not working but fan blowing. They then gave me an estimate for System upgrade but did not pressure for sale at all. Used previously also when drain pipe clogged, once again very timely and complete .

On one of the previous semi-annual visits, the technician suggested an AquaGuard be installed on our unit because the air conditioning will turn itself off if the lines are clogged. Yesterday I noticed about 5pm that the air conditioning wasn't working. I checked the AquaGuard and the red light was on. I called GVCH and a technician was here within about twenty minutes. He cleared the line and the AC was working fine. Then at about 8pm the AC went off again. When I called, I said the service could wait until morning. This morning another technician arrived. He was extremely thorough and cleaned out the ac lines with nitrogen. He checked the freon and found it to be two pounds low (thus the $140 charge). He also checked for leaks and found and repaired the leak. He was the most thorough of all the GVHC technicians we've had work on our units.

 + -1 moreThe person who came to change the filter and check the equipment on the roof was very efficient and cordial and on time. I scheduled the visit through the office and the office personnel was very helpful in meeting my schedule.
Description of Work: Last visit was part of an annual maintenance agreement. A year ago in May, they installed a complete A/C- Heating unit in our home and the first year was covered under the contract. I then signed up for another year of maintenance which includes checking the equipment on our roof and changing out the air filtration filters when necessary.

They are very tidy. If they make a mess, they clean it up. They explain things so that I understand what's going on. I have no complaints, whatsoever.

 + -1 moreI recommend that they review the Annual Maintenance Contract as to company liability for damages caused. Currently, the contract says that liability is limited to the cost of the contract ($175). I think this should be increased, assuming insurance coverage by the company's insurance company. Their advertising states they are licensed, bonded and insured.
Description of Work: I had a water leak stain on my ceiling on our AZ winter home. I arranged for Green Valley Heating & Cooling to check it out. I stopped by their office in Green Valley to make an appointment. The receptionist pointed out that rather than spending $85 for a service call, I should sign up for a maintenance contract which would cover the service call plus an additional 2 annual maintenance checks. I thought this was a good idea and I arranged an appointment. When the service technician arrived, I was impressed by his appearance in a freshly laundered shirt and neat appearance. His name is Drew. He was engaging and professional. He started by telling me exactly what he would do during the maintenance portion, and we also discussed possible causes of the water stain (It had rained heavily that week and the spot remained dry, indicating it might be a HVAC issue instead of a leaky roof). Drew identified the cause as rotting redwood supports for the HVAC system, causing a water leak under the supports. He gave me a firm bid on replacement. I told him to go ahead and get it scheduled. I am very satisfied with the service, friendliness, and professionalism of Drew. I requested that he perform all future HVAC work for us. I feel the prices, while not cheap, are very fair for what was done. I have no hesitation recommending this company and its service technicians.

 + -1 moreI came home one night to the A/C not blowing cold air. Green Valley Heating and Cooling was very easy to reach and schedule with. The tech was right on time, personable, and very efficient. he had the broken part replaced and the vents cleaned within an hour. He was really amazing and it was great to have a simple problem diagnosed as that, instead of having someone try to upsell you or diagnose problems that aren't there. I would use them again and definitely recommend them.
Description of Work: Air conditioner was running, but not blowing cold air. One part was replaced and the vents were cleaned.

 + -1 moreThey came out to inspect our unit and while they agreed it was functioning satisfactorily, they also showed us where improvements could be made. They came out and did an energy audit and also conducted a blower test showing how much leakage the house had. Essentially we had leaks that added up to 163 CFM. Once the install was completed and the duct sealing completed, our leakage was reduce to 5 CFM. This is the same as going from a 31 square inch hole to a 1 square inch hole. All this contributed to our being able to reduce our air conditioning needs from 4 tons to 3 tons, a significant savings.
Description of Work: Had GV Cooling and Heating bid and install a complete HVAC replacing an old system that was functioning but getting old. This included an energy audit, home sealing test and duct sealing. The crew was professional, personable and had a good eye for detail. All this contributed to a good experience and I am happy with the equipment and the service.

 + -1 moreMy problem was that they were not serious about bidding on the job for a new heat pump. They were very unresponsive and not courteous. I told them I was interested in a new heat pump, but they never sent a sales rep to talk to me. The only information I got was from the service man, he found a list of prices for things and showed it to me. They were very expensive. Otherwise, they never got back to me or followed up on my interest. They were acting like they were the only name in town. I would not recommend them.
Description of Work: Green Valley Cooling & Heating installed and serviced my heat pump. They would come twice a year, in the winter and in the summer, for a check up and maintenance.

 + -1 moreThey answered the phone and scheduled an appointment a few days later. He showed up right in the middle of the promised two hour window. He was efficient and thorough. He explained everything well and seemed credible. They offered an annual maintenance agreement which we are considering. We are pleased with our experience and believe that GVCand H offers excellent service at reasonable prices.
Description of Work: Last winter I scheduled an HVAC tune up and evaluation from a telemarketer representing Desert Valley Heating and Air Conditioning from Phoenix and they sent out a slick talking smooth operator who almost convinced me I needed to have $2,200 of component replacement and cleaning on both air conditioners and furnace. In the end I passed. Six months and no problems later I had Green Valley Cooling & Heating out to go through the entire system. Their technician was very knowledgeable and professional. He did clean the coils as they were a little dirty and checked out all components, voltages and temperatures. His prognosis: the systems were operating at a high level of efficiency.

Description of Work: I had them service my heating and cooling unit in my 1400 square foot home. This consisted of the cleaning of the vents and making sure the thermostat was working correctly. I pay an annual fee for their service.

They were very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions we had and were more than willing to check somethings that we had not requested service for like adjusting the vents in certain rooms so that the heat and cooling would flow to areas that needed it more.
Description of Work: Our heating and ac wasn't working properly so they came out to check if everything was working ok and they helped set up our heating and cooling system to automatically switch on and off and switch over to heating and cooling depending on the temperature outside and inside the house.
