I was very happy to find this dealer very close to my home in the North Valley (I used the office at the N. 7th Street address), and when I stopped in, they were very helpful and knowledgeable. I brought in samples of both types of gravel I wanted, and they were quick to identify both. I was initially told that one of the two (Arizona Blonde) was only available at another company far out in the West Valley., which would obviously be very expensive to have delivered. I was about to leave and go home to call around to find out out if I could find something similar elsewhere, when the manager of this facility stepped in and indicated that they did have some of this type of gravel--he called out in the gravel yard to make sure. So I was very happy and arranged to have all 3 tons delivered the following week. When the gravel arrived, the one type was fine and matched what I have in my front yard, but the so-called Arizona Blonde was basically white. It was indeed the same size and shape as the gravel in my backyard, but not at all the same color--my existing gravel is a mix of yellow, brown, gray, white, red, basically a melange of desert-y colors. This just looked white. The guy driving the truck insisted it was the correct gravel and was just dusty. There was not much to be done at that point--I had two tons of it in my driveway. When my gardener came to spread it, he also said maybe it was just dusty, but it definitely did not look like my other gravel, and stood out rather noticeably in my yard (fortunately in the back). As a side note, my gardener also thought I had paid too much for it--he said I could have gotten this gravel much more cheaply elsewhere, but I have not called around to confirm that, so will not comment on the price, although I did think it was pretty expensive compared to my expectation. Anyway, I thought it would improve as it got mixed in to the existing gravel and after it rained. and w ashed away the dust. Well , we have had quite a bit of rain in the last few days, including 1.5 inches just yesterday, causing my whole yard to be covered with a layer of water. But now, having been thoroughly "washed" the new gravel is still just plain white. It is not a huge big deal--this is my backyard and it is only gravel. But the new gravel is definitely different than what I had asked for and paid a couple hundred dollars for. Either "Arizona Gold" was identified incorrectly (although the sample I brought was quite large enough to see the various colors) or what was delivered was not Arizona Gold. Whichever, I now have areas of white gravel in my yard which is mostly multicolor gravel. When I called, to their credit, they suggested I bring in samples of both my original gravel and the new gravel. I will see what the outcome of that visit is going to be.
Description of Work: Provided 3 tons of gravel (2 different types); delivered to my house.
