Murray Insulation is a very good company to use for your home insulation. Michael and his assistant arrived on time and the actual amount I paid was less than the original quote. After reviewing some other companies the pricing was competitive. He also sealed the sheet metal ductwork and covered all ducts before adding the insulation. I had left a message for another company for which I didn't get a reply, and another company said they wouldn't be able to give me a quote if they came out to the house. Murray was responsive, friendly and very good value and gave me a quote when he came out to the house. Honestly probably the best company I have found through Angie's list. We will only use Murray insulation in the future. He also gave me advice to add steel mesh to roof pipes to keep roof rats out.

I called to get an appointment for an estimate on insulating my home. Left message on their machine. They called back two days later and set an appointment day. Nobody ever showed up and will not answer any phone calls to reschedule. Guess business is so good they didn't need mine.

For 30 years my family has owned an insulating company in Michigan. When it was my turn to have insulating done in my home, I KNEW what I wanted and what I DIDN'Twant. Murray insulation was the first company to come out to my house to give me an estimate. I got 3 other estimates to make sure they were competitive. Each company would tell me something a little different. I would then call Murray back and question him. Michael took his time and answered each and every question I had. He wasn't a high pressure sales man at all. His price was MORE than fair compared to the other companies. My brother who currently owns our business came into town went up in my attic and confirmed everything Michael said to be true. Michael and his crew worked efficiently and completed the job in a few hours. Coming from a family owned insulating company you only need to make ONE call and that is to Murray Insulating Company.
Description of Work: I had to add several inches of insulation to what was already existing in my attic. I had batts that needed to be strapped up so they could adequately hold the new insulation.

When I contacted Mr. Murray, he made an appointment to come view the attic area. Of the contractors I contacted, he was the only one to do so. The others all gave me bids for the job based solely on my description of the size of the house and my estimate of how much insulation was already in the attic. After his inspection, he gave me a firm estimate for the job. His bid was several hundred dollars below the competition. On the day of the work, Mr. Murray and his assistant completed the work in approx. 2 hours. After blowing the new insulation into place through two different access portals into the attic (both in the ceiling), he used sheet fiberglass insulation to make barriers around them, to keep insulation from falling out when they were opened. After installing the insulation, he and his assistant cleaned all of the access areas so that there were no bits of insulation or other materials left on the floor or around the attic access portals. I had mentioned to Mr. Murray that we were having problems with aircraft noise because of recent changes to the traffic patterns at the airport. Mr. Murray recommended that we try putting diverters on the exhaust pipes which come through the roof (we have nine). He told me that his is being done around the Air Force base and may help reduce the noise. Because we had both miscounted the number of pipes going thru the roof (we had missed four of them), Mr. Murray installed the five he had brought with him (using 180 degree curved attachments , caulked them and painted them. The next morning, he returned to install the other four. Because he said he could not guarantee that they would actually reduce the noise, he refused any payment for that portion of his work. In sum, Mr. Murray is a thoroughly professional contractor, very personable, who communicates well with his customers, and who does his work very well. His completion of the job was absolutely top notch in every respect. I will certainly contact him again should I have further need of services he can provide.
Description of Work: I contact Murray insulation about adding blown fiberglass insulation in the attic for our 2015 sq ft home. The goal was to increase the R rating to at least R-42 and to make the house for energy efficient in Phoenix's excessive heat.

We recently purchased our house and the insulation that was in our attic appeared to be original to the house (50 years old). Michael came out a few days after we called and provided an on-site estimate as well as following up with an email estimate. One of the things that I appreciated the most was his honesty in the estimate process. I told him that we also wanted to insulate above our garage since we recently upgraded to an insulated garage door. He explained the pros and cons of doing that and we ultimately decided not to insulate above the garage to make it more comfortable. As well, he provided me with a do-it-yourself solution to insulating the walls of the laundry room. It is very refreshing to know that there are home repair professionals still out there that will be honest and try to help save you money where they can. Thanks Michael!

Disappointing that a company that so many people have left positive reviews doesn't take the time to even return a phone call inquiry from a potential customer.
Description of Work: This company may offer the greatest service for insulation in the entire metropolitan Phoenix area for the people that they RESPOND to. I left 2 voicemails for this company to give me a quote - the first on Monday, June 11 and the second on Friday, June 15. NEVER heard from them. Must be nice to have so much business you can turn people away. Will never consider this company in the future, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

I found Murray Installation off of Angies list. Called Michal Murray the owner of Murray Insulation we played a little phone tag and scheduled a time for a walk thru. Michael show up on time entered all the attic accesses in my home to review the current installation his comment/finds where similar to the comments made by the energy audit consultant. He asked for the square footage home multiple that by .34 cent and gave me the quote for $1,346.00 after my angie’s list discount. That was almost 50 % less than the quote I received from the energy audit company. I told him he had the business and asked when we could schedule the installation and if he subcontracted out any of the work? Had said no to subcontracting question, he would do all the work personally. He email me an official quote that evening with a available dates. The quote had very minimal and simple conditions on it. I pick a day 4 days later, Michael show up on time with one other helper. He was very careful bring the hoses into the house and NOT scraping the corners of the walls and doors with them. It took them about 5 hours to complete the work in the attic and then they vacuum the floors in the home for any loose insulation that may have leaked from the hoses. I could NOT have had better experience. I love hard working people who are charging a fair price and simply delivering on the expectation they set. Hire Michael you will not be disappointed.

parisonMike delivered what he said he would do and the price was competitive. The radiant barrier was very difficult to install yet the men did an excellent job of stapling it up in a very confined obstacle laden work area (maximum height 48" to a minimum of 18"). Most of the radiant barrier was installed in a 30" high area over the main house. He kept me informed as to the start of the job and expected finish time and was flexible on the start when we were delayed by another contractor. A reputable contractor who gave me what I wanted at a competitive price. - I received (two) other quotes
Description of Work: Mike installed a stapled into place radiant barrier as opposed to a foamed in radiant barrier. I believe this is a superior system to reflect the heat generated by the roof tiles back up towards the tiles. He then added more insutaltion to the main house and insulated the garage ceiling and walls so as to make the garage useable during the summer months. He subbed out the wall opening and patching and painting in the garage.

I called Murray Insulation on Monday March 26 to see if I could schedule an appointment to have an estimate done for insulation in my attic. Within a short time Michael Murray returned my call and let me know that he was in the area and would be able to come by that day. I agreed and he came to my home a short time later. We discussed my options and Michael looked in my attic to see what was up there and what needed to be done to achieve the results that I was looking for. He told me before he left an approximate cost and E-mailed me the quote later that evening. I was quite happy with the cost and I felt very comfortable with his knowledge and professionalism. We discussed my schedule and when this could be done and to my surprise he was able to do the install on the very same Friday. Michael arrived Friday morning as scheduled, fully equipped an went right to work. The install took just over an hour and he was very careful to make sure that all was cleaned up after the job was done. So far so good. The temps are getting up there and my house is staying cool and comfortable.

Michael was wonderful. He came out as scheduled and provided what we felt was a very reasonable bid. We were having additional work done on our roof and juggled his schedule to accommodate our needs while remaining friendly and service-driven at all times. The best news of all? When he came to blow in the insulation on one side of our house, he said the existing insulation was fine and additional insulation was not required. He then took $240 off our final invoice. He could have easily told us we needed more insulation and charged us the original price. It's hard to find that sort of service and integrity these days!

Michael was prompt at getting back to me - gave me a bid on the job within 24 hours after his researching the attic. The insulation was installed within 3 days of his bid. They installed insulation to R19 in the attic - and left the property spotless afterwards. I am very satisfied with the whole process in dealing with Michael, and look forward to doing business with this company in the future.

I corresponded with Michael initially through email. We setup an appointment for a free estimate. He was on time, professional and very courteous. He suggested going to R38 (old house we were at R 19). I wanted higher but he said we probably wouldn't need and said to wait a year and see. I respected his honesty... I accepted the quote and he came out next week. It took about 2 hrs. He was careful, making sure his assistant didn't damage our roof. He cleaned up afterwards in the closet and room where the attic hatch was. This is day two after the install and already we notice a huge difference. Not as cold in the morning and staying not as warm in the afternoon .I recommend him highly and will use him again if the need arises.

Initially I asked Mike to come out and provide an assessment of the options that were available to improve the insulation value in our attic. Mike showed up on time, looked around our attic, and discussed the various options that were available. He provided the pros/cons and answered all the questions I had. He also made a few recommendations that would make the installation process go as smooth as possible. I asked him to provide a quote based on two different options. He replied very quickly with a detailed proposal. Within a few days he was on-site to blow in the insulation. He arrived on time with all the necessary materials. Within a few hours they were finished. They cleaned up inside my garage and even out in the street. Mike was honest and very knowledgeable about his trade. I wouldn't hesitate to refer anyone to Mike. It was a smooth process and I'm a very satisfied customer.

Michael came and gave me a quote. Later that evening I recieved the formal quote in an email. He was very quick to communicate. He and his crew showed up promptly at the agreed upon time and got right to work. The attic was a mess with lots of debris mixed in with the insulation. They were able to remove everything within the allotted time and cleaned up very well. I'm 100% very pleased and will be contacting Michael again when we redo the insulation.

I needed to raise the R-18 value of the old insulation to a R-49. Mike gave me a fair price, and we set a date for the procedure. Mike arrived at the time he said he would, and 2 hours later he was finished. Application was uniform and more product was used than was we had agreed upon; very professional experience. Mike had covered with a tarp a portion of the garage close to the access point, and after finishing, he vacuumed the area. It was a very positive experience.

Upon replacing an old split level heat pump (A/C unit) I noticed a much smaller amount of cellulose insulation in my attic than what was specified when I had my home built 20 years ago. I have since learned that getting much less than you paid for when your house was built can be common and the only way to know if your attic is properly insulated in to get up there and measure it yourself. I found that my home builder had only provided about 3-4 inches of "cellulose" giving me about an "R-19" rating (we specific R30" in the home contract). I found Michael Murray to quickly resolve my problem. Mike came out a couple days after calling, did a very complete assessment (you have to go to the end of each corner to see what is there) and then discussed the pros and cons of various insulation types (cellulose vs. fiberglass ...etc.) and his recommendation for how many inches ("R" value) I should get. BTW - NEVER let someone quote without inspecting in detail and by all means make sure the inspector/installers have head mounted flashlights to see what they are doing. Mike did! He quoted with the options I had asked for in a day or two. Mike's quote was competitive and he had high ratings on Angie's List. I now know why. Mike showed up as promised, was very careful of my home and environment, "properly" installed the paper wall rulers to ensure the correct number of inches were blown into the attic and then he took the time to build a special barrier to hold the new insulation from falling in order to protect me, and my A/C service man, from ton's of insulation falling out of the attic each time we enter in the future (I REALLY appreciated that). The area was clean when Mike left and you would never have known that he was here except that our house is now maintaining much more warmth during the cold winter nights than before. I can't wait to see how much my new R-38 attic helps to reduce my cooling costs. Many thanks Mike!
