They changed hands...not Maytag Store anymore...The warranty company that was supposed to be handled by Maytag has been sold, and they could care less. The conditions of the warranty state that the warranty DOES NOT cover electrical or mechanical problems ( I think that is the only kind of problems you can have). I am fed up with the Maytag Store and Maytag appliances. I will buy either LG (Korean) or Sanyo...but not Maytag or any of the affiliated brands. Again nothing has been done to resolve my problem.
Description of Work: Bought Maytag top of the line Front loading Washer & Dryer and five year extended warranty. Immediatley had problems....it ripped clothes and made screeching sound and wobbled. Called Maytag....they came out and said there was nothing wrong....we were putting too many clothes in it. Screeching became extremely loud...they sait to call extended warranty company, Bankers Warranty. I did .. they sent out Runyan appliance repair, who said machine was leaking, and shock absorbers looked bad, but if I wanted it fixed...it would cost me money. I told them to go pound salt since I had a five year extended warranty...not expiring unti l20013.

We called the Maytag folks based on good reviews here, and had a very similar experience to several we saw described here. Working with the office staff was difficult, but we did finally get an appointment. Once the person we were dealing with was the repairman, the service was excellent. He contacted us as expected, arrived on time, and knew what he was doing. We will use them again if we have another appliance issue.
Description of Work: The ice maker in our Amana refrigerator broke. The repairman came, assessed the problem, and replaced the mechanism with one he had in his truck.

The repairman (Jim) was nice and knowledgeable, but I talked to three different Maytag employees the past week about this. If this is such a common problem (as it is according to Jim) I would think one of them would have suggested this and saved me a $69 service charge.
Description of Work: Both lights in refrigerator had gone out a few weeks apart. Installing new bulbs did not appear to fix this (I tightened them as much as I could--thought the bulb was going to break). Needed repairman to diagnose problem. What did he do? Took a wet rag and tightened the bulb more. That's all. Explained older refrigerators have a conical shaped socket to ward off moisture--sometimes difficult to tighten enough without aid (wet rag). Took him 30 seconds to diagnose.

It went very well. Mobin contacted us the morning of the service day with an estimated arrival time, then called back to see if it was convenient for him to arrive about an hour early. He quickly identified the correct problem (clogged drain) and checked the ice maker for problems as we requested. We have had our ice maker serviced 3 times and assumed it was an ice maker problem (due to the frozen ice and icicles from top to bottom in the freezer). He assured us the ice maker was working properly/not leaking and that the icicles were probably the result of the freezer door being left open slightly. We appreciated the honest feedback.
Description of Work: Mobin cleared the drain which was blocked in our freezer and checked the ice maker for problems. Our original request for service was to repair the ice maker, however, the problem was not the ice maker.

I was very unhappy with the products I was sold and the installation. The dishwasher broke when I was using it for the very first time. It took them a week to come look at it. They wanted to replace the motor. I told them no I wanted a new one. They also did not adjust the wheels on the refrigerator. This was causing it to roll out of the cubby that it was placed in. The products were cheap; I received bad service in all areas. I wish I could have just ripped everything out and taken it all back.
Description of Work: I purchased my dishwasher, refrigerator, and stove from them. They also delivered and installed them for me.

The experience was excellent. Our refrigerator broke on Christmas Eve. When I called Maytag on at 8:30 a.m. on 12/26, the dispatcher put us into the schedule right away. The work was completed by 12:30 p.m. The technician who came to the house was polite, competent, and went beyond the call by taking out an ice maker that hasn't been working for quite a long time. We chose not to replace it. He fixed the problem defrost thermostat and cleaned up the area in which he had been working, a fact I much appreciated. I would definitely call The Maytag Store again. The dispatcher must have assigned someone closer to our house to this job, because although the phone number above is the same -- 602-252-6030, the address on the ticket is 300 W. Southern Avenue in Mesa.
Description of Work: The refrigerator portion of our Amana bottom-freezer refrigerator was not cooling. The problem was a broken defrost thermostat. The tech was at our house for about an hour, during which time he found the problem, manually defrosted the coils and replaced the broken part. He also removed the ice maker which had not been working for a long time and which was not hooked up to the reverse osmosis system. There was no charge for this part of the service.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE MAYTAG STORE REPAIR WAS A VERY PLEASANT ONE. THE REPAIR MAN WAS NICE & POLITE. HE TOLD ME THAT WHAT HE DID WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, IT WAS NORMAL WEAR & TEAR, & HE DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE WORK.
Description of Work: THEY TOOK THE BOTTOM RACK OUT OF THE DISHWASHER & CLEANED THE SPINNERS. I HAD BUILD UP ON THE SIDES SO HE RAN THE CYCLE WITH A CLEANER. ALL WAS UNDER WARRANTY EXCEPT THE CLEANER.

THE SERVICE MAN WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE IN HIS FIELD. HE REPAIRED WHAT HE COULD TO SAVE ME THE COST OF REPLACING PARTS.
