I called Chuck on 9/1 and he said he would come out later that day. I was thrilled he was coming out so quickly to look at my project. He called at 4:30pm to tell me he was only about 30 minutes from my house and on his way. We waited and waited and waited... At 5:30pm I called Chuck and left a message but he did not respond. He never called me back and never showed up. I WOULD NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY OR RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. We have since hired a different masonry company off Angie's List.
Description of Work: I wanted to add a couple more rows of brick to 150' wall to make it taller for more privacy.

I initiated contact with Chuck Lefebvre by phone and he responded promptly. On his request, I texted him a collection of photos showing the damage. Chuck replied that he would need to inspect the damage on site before being able to provide options for repair, warning me that it was possible that a complete replacement might be necessary. Within a couple of days, Chuck inspected the damage and determined that repair was possible, estimating $650 depending upon the ability to locate matching stone. I was extremely pleased with this estimate and that a total replacement was not required. I gave Chuck the go-ahead to locate matching replacement stone and perform the repair. I also told Chuck that the work was not urgent and that I was fine with his scheduling it a couple of weeks away to accommodate his workload. Chuck provided photos of candidate replacement stone but there didn't seem to be a good match available so I gave him the OK to replace all the stone. However, Chuck put forth the extra time and effort to locate the matching stone. I happily agreed to a revised project cost of $750. Chuck and one assistant worked a full day on the repair and then Chuck returned the next morning to apply grout and final cleanup. I was extremely pleased with all aspects of the job. Chuck is pleasant, courteous, professional, and conscientious - I recommend him highly.
Description of Work: Replaced deteriorated base panel and perimeter stonework on outdoor patio barbecue counter. The damage was due to moisture seepage into the wooden (!) base which compromised the adhesion of the perimeter stone and metal work to the base. In addition to the base perimeter, the same stone was used for an extensive back-splash extending from the counter top around the barbecue and sink. There was no damage to the back-splash but it was important that the perimeter stonework match. See attached photos for before and after.

Description of Work: I called and described 2 projects. He said he was not familiar with the type of material I wanted to use for a planter retaining wall and seemed disinterested in doing it so we only discussed raising a block wall. This 2nd project was simple masonry, his area of expertise. Chuck quoted me a price for the block wall work but said he wanted to have a look at it. We made an appointment for which he showed up as scheduled. |He then informed me that it would not be worth his while to do just the one project so gave me an estimate for both. I asked that he send/email me something in writing i.e. written estimate or invoice. I never heard from him again.

Very professional on the call, showed up at designated time and date, fair price. When I went to inspect work, there was a mess left everywhere and thought the mortar was smeared over all of the brick. It looked sloppy. When I called, they stated that the job was larger than they thought. Well....you should have let me know that then. You gave the estimate and I accepted it. They said they would come back out and clean up. Never did.

Gave Chuck a call about replacing some stacked stone around an entertainment nook that I had to remodel to fit a larger TV. Chuck was very friendly on the phone and said it sounded like a quick job, which I figured it would be. He said it'd be a $150 minimum, which I felt was fair considering I probably would've spent $50 alone on tools and materials to do it myself. Chuck and Scott showed up this morning to get things done for me. He was very friendly and got things done quickly and everything looks great, especially now that the stone is all back in place. I wouldn't hesitate at all to hire Chuck for my next project. A+++ provider.

More brick and time were needed than originally proposed, but that was okay. Until the wall was opened up, it was impossible to know exactly what would be needed. Chuck did an excellent job rebuilding the wall and blending the new work into the old. I would recommend him highly.

I had some difficulty getting synced with Chuck and Amy Lefebvre because of the Thanksgiving holiday, but once we did they were great. They came out on a Saturday, measured the house, and gave me an estimate that was right on budget. Chuck started work the following Wednesday and completed the project late Thursday. The stone looks great, clean up was very thorough, and I highly recommend them.

It's nice to do business with people that have a great work ethic and know what they are doing. This started out to be a simple job that got a little more complicated because of the unusual materials. Chuck and his son stayed late to make sure it was done right, and didn't rush jsut to get it finished. The workmanship was impeccable. Great job!

Amy and Chuck came out to provide the estimate. It was a relief to work with them, as it was very consultative and they took time to look over all of the details. I really appreciated that I could explain my general ides, and then we could all discuss options for how best to accomplish what I wanted. In the end they came up with some solutions I hadn't considered that met aesthetic, functional and structural requirements - at a competitive price. They knew the history of the brick used on my home, and took the time to track down the same style to match. They even offered to drop off samples ahead of time to make sure I was comfortable with the choice. I got a sense during my bidding process that some companies preferred to work with concrete block, and brick seemed to not be their preference. I live in a historic home, and brick is a reality. Chuck is very experienced and it was clear that he was a brick mason. I wanted someone who really knew his craft and was a licensed contractor, not someone who would just throw a random crew of guys at this job. Whenever I stopped by, Chuck was out there working with his guys - literally in the trenches. He was always keeping an eye on everything to make sure it was done right, even while he himself was working on the job. The job moved quickly and I'm very happy with the work. I think you can find lots of folks who will throw up a block wall, however it's a nice surprise to find a brick mason who is so knowledgeable and passionate about the trade and doing a quality job - meaning things are done the right way, not necessarily the easy way.
Description of Work: Installed block wall to replace RV gates, repaired footing and corrected existing red brick wall that was sagging, bricked in gate entry on red brick wall, installed new red brick wall at front of house, removed chain link fence and concrete pad, saw cut and removed concrete walkway.

Lefebvre Masonry was amazing!!! Chuck came over and gave me an estimate and stuck to the estimate. His work was beautiful and has completely transformed my back and front yard. He was extremely professional and the quality of work was perfect. Chuck even gave me some ideas on the flower beds which I decided to go with and they turned out better than I would have ever imagined. My new brick flower bed is beautiful. Chuck was able to give me an estimate and complete the work in two days. I am 150% satisfied with Chuck's work and would recommend him to anyone!

We had been having a little rain water running down the brick fireplace face inside the house. This occurred despite a new roof in which extra attention was paid to preventing leaks around the roofing interface (which was also water-tested when the roof replacement was complete). But the water-testing (by the roofer) did reveal that some water was finding its way into the house somehow via the chimney itself. So I expected some repointing to be required on the chimney But careful examination by the mason revealed only a single crack around the circumference of the chimney right at the top finish layer of brick, plus a bunch of cracks in the cement cap on top. He sealed the crack with a polymer mortar type material designed for the task, and used an asphalt material (several applications) to seal the cracks in the cement cap. We have not had a hard rain since the work, so the end result is not yet tested. But the situation was discussed openly and clearly with me on the roof with him, and the actual work performed was clearly needed. It was also less in scope than what I expected, and so was the cost. No pressure. No upselling. I had called two different masons to assess and quote on the work. Chuck was the only one to respond, and did so promptly. He did the work required within the very next few days. Easy to work with. Would not hesitate to use him again. Thanks Chuck!

Rather unusual event prompted this repair. A squirrel was running from a dog and managed to find a hole in the top of the wall and proceeded to get stuck, upside down, about 50and quot; from the top. Blocks were removed from the wall to enable the squirrel to get out. I then called several masonry companies to have the wall repaired. Lefebvre Masonry was the first to respond. They stopped by that day see what was needed and scheduled the repair for the next day. Work completed for price quoted and as scheduled and in a professional manner.
Thank you for the review, we do greatly appreciate it. You were a pleasure to work with and we thank you for the business!

The workmanship and work ethic was a sight to behold. You know how you hear people say and quot;people don't work like they used toand quot;? well that statement didn't hold true for Chuck LeFebvre Masonary. It is the old school work ethic, the old school integrity, show up on time, leaving things clean and neat, consulting to make sure this is exactly what you want, great workmanship, fair pricing. Let me tell you these guys are hard working, fair, considerate with integrity that doesn't exist much any more. Chuck had great design ideas and some people just have a flair for design and making a diamond out of the rough. I feel like we got a landscape architect thrown in for free! We would use them again unquestionably and if I could rate them higher than a ten I would do just that.
Description of Work: This started with masonary walls in the front of our house. We then added pavers to the front and additional walls. The work was so good and the work ethic reminiscent of days past that we had the back porch area (more than 1000 sq ft) done in pavers. We were so happy with the results that we had the pool area and bbq pit done and then added additional masonary seating.
