Dear Member, I'm sorry but I think you might have called another roofing company. I (Brian) have had all calls forwarded to my cell phone because my office manager is only working a couple hours a day to personal reasons and I keep all messages in my phone till I schedule appointments or get back to customers regarding other issues. I review my last two weeks of messages and show nothing from you. I would be happy to schedule an appointment if you'd like. I take pride in trying to get back to our customers promptly. Please let me know if I can help. Thank you, Brian

I called to set up an appointment for an estimate and Brian came out the next business day. He did a roof insecption and outlined the needed repairs. He gave me the impression that he was very knowledgable and honest. I called him the next day the schedule the repair. The repair was done within a week and there were no messes left behind. Great service and a great job.
Description of Work: I had the patio roof repaired because of a leak at a scupper. All scuppers were attended to in addition to a general roof maintenace.

Both our tile and patio roof were in need of repairs (leaks, rotted frame in the patio roof, etc.). From the time we received the initial estimate, Brian impressed us with his professionalism. I am very detail oriented and Brian promptly and patiently answered all my questions during this time without pressuring for a decision. During this period we also identified a couple of additional areas that can be further improved while the repairs are being done. Once we agreed to proceed with the repairs, the work was completed by his crew without any issues. When I had additional detailed requests (such as paint touch-up on patio roof poles) Brian communicated this to this team efficiently and I did not have to remind them or interfere with the process. When the job was completed, I realized two tiles that were replaced were not the best color match to the surrounding tiles. Brian had somebody out in two days and it was fixed. I can say the overall experience has been very good and we are happy with the service we received.

I own an older home. It had a wood shingle roof that had been on for about 18 years and was in pretty bad shape (mostly due to the fact that I had not maintained it properly). For various reasons, I decided to go to a composite shingle roof (insurance coverage, fire prevention etc). I contacted Buck Mountain (Brian Yoder) because he was highly recommended by Angie's List. I also got estimates from two other roofing companies. Brian was the first person to return my calls. He showed up on time, reviewed the situation, listened to my questions and answered them. Brian's quote was in line with the other estimates. I had some specific requests on how the job should be done. Mainly, I wanted him to use plywood rather then OSB for the underlayment. I just think plywood is better. I have seen OSB cause problems in various applications. The other contractors really tried to push me to OSB. Brian did not.. I wanted a color of shingle that was not common in my area so it took some time for the shigles to arrive. We also had some weather problems in regard to the start date. When the weather permitted, his crew showed up on time. I was very impressed with his crew. I think they took their time and did a really nice job. The roof looks great and I have real confidence in the quality. We had one problem. Brian underestimated the amount of materials needed. That kind of bothered me. But, no one is perfect and I think that you have to go with the flow on these things. Brian made it right in the end. He made sure that the roof was water tight while we waited about a week for the needed materials to arive. I think he really worked hard to get it done. And, the project was finished without additional cost to me. One side note -- ask the contractor about the sales tax. I am not entirely certain that I didn't pay sales tax on the labor. But all in all, that is a minor thing to me. Bottom line = Buck Moutain/Brian Yoder gave me what I paid for -- I have a really nice roof -- would definitely use them again.

Brian was very quick to respond to my request for an estimate over a holiday weekend. He answered my call on a Sunday and came out the following morning to investigate a leak. Given the necessary repairs I felt his estimate was exceptionally reasonable. The water damage proved worse than anticipated, so the job entailed a little more time and materials than initially thought. Still, the cost was a good value, especially when you consider his 10-year warranty with annual inspections and minor repairs. Brian and his team were very pleasant to deal with. I was routinely kept informed of the progress and his workmen were courteous and cleaned up daily.

Very well done. Good responsiveness to initial inquiry and request for quote. Quoted price was right inline with 2 other competitors. They were able to schedule the work to fit my requested time frame. Work crews were professional. There were many very nice details to the work that I was not originally aware of, like Valley metal flashing in the valley areas, that I really liked. My interfaces with Brian the Owner were very professional and informative. It seemed like the crew knocked off early the first day, which resulted in the work extending to Saturday morning (although that may have happened anyways). I especially liked the extra effort to schedule Brian's final walkdown of the completed job at my convenience so I could participate. Total price was in-line with the original quote, even though there were a couple of "extras" that ended up being necessary and could have been added to the price but weren't. Over-all highly recommended.

I am a very picky person when it comes to contractors. When I do work myself, I am very anal about how it is done. Does it drive you crazy when contractors don?t communicate well and you wonder if/when they will get back to you? Well, you won?t have that problem if you deal with this company. I received 4 quotes for my roof. I added on to my existing patio roof by building a 27 X 10 extension to the existing small patio that was built with the house. Buck Mountain Roofing was not the cheapest quote, but he was at the low end of the quotes I received. I decided to go with Buck Mountain, because they were very professional and I got a good impression from the start when I dealt with Brian. No regrets here. The work was done when Brian said and to a very high level. When the guys left, they completely cleaned up and were very courteous and professional. Brian followed up with me several times and answered all of my questions promptly both before and after the work was completed. I will not call anyone else in the future for my roofing needs as I could not be happier with the services provided.

There are not enough positive adjectives to describe my experience with Buck Mountain Roofing. I had requested bids from three different companies after doing research on them. All three had good records and were timely in submitting their quotes. Buck Mountain's price was the lowest, which is important, but only to a point. While price is important, you have to be able to trust what the contractor is telling you. Brian took time to answer my questions fully and was prompt on returning calls. He helped clarify some issues I was having with my insurance company too. The roofers who came out were quick but thorough. I was fortunate in only having to have a few pieces of wood replaced and the Roofing Supervisor let me know what was being re-placed, along with the cost. They were neat and made sure all tools and any messes were picked up each evening, so there were no safety hazards. After the job was complete, the crew used a magnetic sweeper to pick up any stray metal. They were very nice, hardworking men. This is the first home that I have bought and I am finding that not everything is as good as the Home Inspector said it was, so I am, unfortunately, going to have to have work done that I hadn't planned. I just hope that any future contractor I work with has as much patience and integrity as Brian Yoder has.

They used shingles that didn't match our roof. They left extra pieces of cut shingles on our roof, now I have to climb up on my roof and remove them myself. They didn't tell me when they were finished, they just left. They evidentally don't do their work correctly. I sent an email to the owner and have yet to hear a response from them. I had no idea how much I was supposed to pay them. They said they sent me a bill, I didn't receive one. I don't believe that they actually sent me one. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Dear Member, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. We always try to make the repair process easy and convenient. I (Brian) was out at your home on the scheduled date and time frame, but nobody was home. I set up my ladder and looked at your roof. I first noticed you had a lot of wind damage to the front of your home which looked to be the original 3-tab shingle roof. The back looked to have a layer over the existing which was done in Owens Corning Amber 3-tab which was definitely lighter than the front roof. I then called your phone upon getting back in my truck. I explained that there was more damage than our minimum charge and would be $345 plus tax. I then explained that we cannot get the shingles that where on the front anymore due to the fact that you had the "standard" size shingle and not the "metric" size shingle that was larger and would not fit into the slot after removing the old ripped up shingles. I said that we could use the same color and size that was on the rear and you had then said that would be ok because you where selling the home and didn't want to put anymore money into it. You then asked when we could do it, and I said the end of next week. You asked me to send you a proposal/contract by email, I said I would but we didn't usually do it that for jobs under $500, then you told me you would look it over and let me know. I sent you the contract (not an invoice) by email the next morning. I didn't hear back from you till the next week. We sent a couple of emails trying to set up a date and time because I preferred you be there. On the 8-31-12 you sent another email saying the 5th of Sept. would work for you that you'd be home. On the 3rd of Sept. you sent me another email stating that you meant the 6th not the 5th. I replied saying I would make that work. On the 6th we were unable to come and I called to let you know that the roofer I was going to send went home sick and had to go to doctor. I said I could send him on Friday the 7th. You didn't call me back but sent another email stating you and your wife wouldn't be home but we do the job and arrange how to get the payment after we were finished, I replied and said that would be fine, I could just email you the invoice after we were finished. On Friday morning, you called me and said you were home and nobody had showed up yet. I then told you that they were on there way they had to go to the supply house to pick up the shingles. Only one supplier had the standard size shingles to fit and they are down town. They then showed up to do the repair job. I got back to the office on Friday and saw you had sent an email stating you were not happy. I tried to call you @ 2:30pm as soon as I read your email and you didn't answer so I left a message stating I would like to talk about it. I then tried you again at 2:44pm and you answered. You told me why you weren't happy and I said we had already discussed the color would not be exact but it would be exact to the rear of the home. I then apologized about them not knocking on the door to let you know they where finished, because all of our roofers are supposed to let the customer know when they are arriving and leaving. You then asked about the cut shingles left on the roof. I then told you I walk every job after it is done and I had planned to walk it tomorrow on Saturday due to all the rain we got on Friday because we got a lot of calls. I then asked if you'd be home tomorrow morning on Saturday, and you said you where leaving very early before I got up. I then told you I get up at 3am and in the office by 4am so what ever time you needed me to come I could accommodate it. You told me fine, but I had better be there by no later than 6:15am because you would leave. I was there and walked the job and we talked about the color. Our roofers did leave two little cut pieces up on the roof and I picked them up. I also said I didn't like the way they had slid the new ones in and said I would like to repair it. You said I had not better send the same guys back over because you would call the police and have them arrested for trespassing. I then said I would send over another man that was with me at the time on Monday, and then I said I would come with him and help get it done to my satisfaction. You agreed and said you would probably not be home and I said that would be fine with me. I apologize that the job didn't go as smooth as it should, but this is why I walk every job to make sure it is done correctly when finished, and if for some reason it isn't I always will make sure it gets done the correct way.

We asked for a quick estimate on repairs to a roof on a house we were buying. We needed the estimate by the end of the inspection period. Appraiser came out next day on July 4 to do apprasial! Started on the date promised.Job took a little longer than expected, due to threat of rain almost every day. (6 days total, they even worked on Sunday)The crew basically tore-off one section at a time then put down underlayment. This method kept the roof protected in case of weather.Luckily it only rained twice during the install, could have been much worse.Very pleased with finished product, and I feel that if any problems happen topop up, Brian and his crew will stand behind their work.

I'm very disappointed regarding this appointment. I had scheduled an appointment with Buck Mountain Roofing Inc for the 14th of July between 9:00 am and 11:00am to get an estimate to replace the asphalt shingles. At 11:15, after no phone call or anyone showing up for the appointment, I had to leave to go to Albuquerque and when I arrived in Albuquerque I found that I had a cell phone message saying that the estimator?s GPS was not working and that they were not able to find my home, so I returned the call. The person that answered the phone said that they had called a few times earlier in the morning but, I have no cell phone record of any of the calls they claime to have made, except the calls at 11:20 and another one a little bit later saying that their GPS was not working. I had my cell phone in my pocket the entire morning just in case some did call but, I never received any previous calls. I was very disappointed and a little upset when they were (1) a no show and (2) after they had said they had tried to call me when I show no record of any calls and I had the phone in my pocket all morning. This first experience with Angie?s List contractors has really left me with a lot of doubt that I?ll be able to find a dependable contractor using Angie's list.

Member, I am sorry for the mis-understanding, when looking over our call log for scheduling we show your original estimate date for Monday the 16th from 9-11am. We show Radelle called me after speaking with you, to confirm that date and time with me(Brian) and I said that would be ok. I asked her to give you a call back to let you know I would do Saturday the 14th from 9:30 to 11:30am if it was more convenient for you with your work schedule. I couldn't do a 9-11 because I had an 8:30 to 10:30 and a 10:30 to 12:30. When on route to your home my GPS took me to a dead end road into 2 driveways. I checked my cell phone times this morning, the first call I made to try to get better directions was at 11:12am and tried again at 11:15am. I left a message on your voice mail on the first call. Then I tried the GPS on my phone. which said the same directions as the first. Then I tried going back to the main road and not making the right turn on Vallecitos and continued to go north then my truck GPS repositioned itself and took my to a different house. I then went up down 3 different streets till I finally found your home. No one was home, so I started to take some measurements, thinking you might have had to run out. Then Radelle called me to let me know you called and said you had to go to work. This morning I also checked Radelle's call history on her cell phone, she tried to call you 3 times from 11:32am to 11:41am. It shows you had called her back at 11:54am. Sometimes GPS doesn't always work so well off the beatin path. I apologize I should have called you the day before Friday to confirm the date and time, Fridays are pretty busy in the office with payroll day and all. I would be happy to still send you a estimate if you'd like, and will give you 5% off for all the mis-communication.

The work went very well. Buck Mountain did what they said they would per the contract. They were easy to deal with and very conscientious. The work was of high quality. We also installed an electric solar system over part of the tile roof and Buck Mountain coordinated their work with the work of the solar company.
Description of Work: We replaced about 3000 square feet of roof, half of which was flat and half was tile. The tiles were taken up, a new underlayment was put down and the tiles were put back down. Any tiles broken in the process were replaced. On the flat portions of the roof, the old roofing was removed down to the plywood, 5 scuppers were replaced, a new cricket to divert water was installed and a coat of primer was applied to the plywood seams and a second coat of primer was applied over the entire flat roof surface. 2 coats of final coat were then applied.

Brian was responsive via the telephone, and sending someone to my home to check out my roof prior to submitting an estimate. It took a long time for them to schedule my re-roof job into their schedule, but in the end it was worth it. I had started looking to get my roof redone in late October/ early November and it actually got done at the beginning of January. Aside from taking a while to get the job going, they did an awesome job. I guess that makes sense, They do great work and apparently business is booming. I would go back to them for future work because they did such a nice job. My neighbors were jealous. They were honest and lived up to their end of the deal. I've had no leaks so the roof job passed the test! What more could you really ask for?

Overall We are very pleased with the work bick roofing did. They arrived onetime to do the estimate. They diagnosed the problem and provided a solution that was less than half the price of the other bid received. The installers were courteous and friendly. When I emailed them a week or so after they finished the job indicating that thought they had missed covering a small area with flashing they can out within a day or two and fixed it.
Description of Work: Replacement of patio tile roof and underpayment. Replacement of 3 roof vent jackets that were not correctly installed when the the house was originally built.

He is very good and we have had him do a couple of jobs for us in the past. He is punctual and honest. He was accurate with his pricing. They did a good job and cleaned up when they were finished.
