I have to say that working with Buck Mountain, Brian and Terry has been a very good experience. As far as the job is concerned the work was excellent, the roof was installed as agreed and the complete roof was torn off and replaced in one week. The workers sent from Buck Mountain were waiting at our door and 7:30 every morning and worked almost without breaks. I can't say enough about this aspect of the job. However, I feel I would not be supporting the concept of the Angie's List system if I did not comment on the responsiveness. I am well aware, from getting quotes from other companies, how busy the roofing business is with all of the hail damage going on in the valley. There is not one vendor I contacted that did not have trouble getting back to me and blame it on the work load. The same must be said for Buck Mountain. Many times I called and left messages and Brian did not return my calls for several days and sometimes after several calls from me. When we did make contact Brian was polite and always apologetic. He always explained why he took so long to return my call.I must say that I started contact with Buck Mountain last October (or somewhere around there) and was in no hurry to have my roof replaced so the delays from other roofs being in front of mine was not a problem. Brian Yoder (owner) told me it would be January before he could get to me and that was no problem because he was up front from the start.Bottom line is that I would use Buck Mountain again and would recommend them to anyone. Just an update to let everyone know that Buck Mountain showed up, as agreed, to finish up some trim painting. Then Brian Yoder (owner) came over to make sure that everything was done to our satisfaction. It was and it was great working with this company.

Brian was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. He and his workers were very professional, showed up on time, and worked hard from early morning to evening. Brian was there to supervise every step of the way. We are extremely pleased with the outcome, and we strongly recommend them to anyone needing roofing work.

Brain showed up on time, checked the roof and had an estimate for us in 15 minutes. The first two companies gave me estimates of $1500 and $350 when I knew they were minor repairs. Brian gave us an estimate for $100 and I asked him if could do the work right away. He said he had to check his truck to make sure he had the necessary equipment and he did. He finished the work in 1 hour and said he would email the receipt. Super happy with this company and Brian! Would recommend to anybody with roofing needs. Thanks Brian!

Called for an estimate on what i thought was a roof leak. Bryan immediately scheduled a same day appointment. He called an hour ahead to let me know of his arrival status. He arrived on time and conducted an investigation of the leak with me. We discovered it actually was not a roof leak, but an upstairs bathroom that was leaking water into the lower level. Despite not having a need for his service immediately, he offered to inspect my outdoor deck and roof. We found a few potential issues, but Bryan showed me how I could address them myself. How honest is that? When I asked him what I owed him for the service call, he said "nothing" but to think of him again when I need repairs. Truly, this is the kind of service that wins loyal customers. I will recommend him to my neighbors and definitely use his services when the need arises!

- Of the four roofing companies I asked for a bid, Brian was the first to show and exactly when he said he would show - Brian's bid was equal to what his competition had estimated (save for one which was $2K higher than the rest) - My roofing job was scheduled about 2.5 months out from the time of the bid (no hurry, my roof wasn't leaking; just old) - Brian and I had a miscommunication on the date of the job; I heard Aug 25 and he remembered Jul 25 - On Jul 25, Brian showed at my house (so my neighbor tells me; I was on vacation) - In talking with Brian later, he believed that he wrote down the date of my vacation rather than the Aug 25 date - We rescheduled (?) for Aug 31st and that's when work began - Work continued each day through Sep 2 with the crew showing up around 7:00 each day and doing a good job cleaning up after themselves - Brian has a great carpenter on staff (Tracy) that really knew what to look for and how to repair/replace damaged wood - My final price was about $1,400 higher than the original bid. This was due to the shingle upgrade and the extensive wood work being done. I had in mind spending about $10K; expecting that additional work would need to be done
Description of Work: - Tear off of old asphalt shingle roof and removal of roll roofing over patio - Installed new OC Duration Desert Tan shingles (upgrade) - Installed new T111 sheathing on patio roof; freeing up 'used' tongue-in-groove boards for use elsewhere on the roof - Replaced 12 foot facia board (water damaged) at front of house as well as some related tongue-in-groove boards - Replaced entire facia on patio with upgraded boards; improving both physical and aesthetic look of patio - Installed new flashing on all roof penetrations - Installed new O'Hagin vents in place of old 'tombstone' venting (used 'shingle over' method on the O'Hagin vents - very pleasing to the eye)

Fantastic job, very professional, grade A materials
Description of Work: Buck Mountain Roofing reroofed our home after it was damaged by hail last October. Although it took months to get the actual project completed due to the sheer number on hail damaged homes in the Glendale area. Brian provided the most reasonable estimate compared to the other two Angie's List contractors. The estimate came in below the insurance adjuster's estimate and $1,000s below the other two contractor's estimates. Although the final costs increased slightly from Brian's original estimate mostly due to water damaged plywood and dry rotted fascia, Brian made sure to keep us informed of the work that was being done. His workers took their time and did a very professional job, making sure the worksite was left clean of any debris created during the project. We would certainly use Buck Mountain again should the need arise but since we basically have a "lifetime" warranty on the reroof materials, that need may not come up again unless Mother Nature messes with us again.

Last year, my 23 year old roof suffered high wind and hail damage. My choice was to repair the roof to see if I could get more years out of it. After receiving estimates from three roofing companies, I contracted with Brian Yoder of Buck Mountain to do the repairs. Brian advised me at the time that the overall condition of my roof was poor and it would likely need further repair or replacement in the near future. This spring, very high winds destroyed parts of the roof that had not been repaired last year. In April, I called Brian Yoder to provide me with a roof replacement estimate for materials and labor. He was very patient with helping me select type and color of the replacement shingles. Work on the roof started June 14 and was completely finished 4 days later on June 17. The team members who did the work on my roof were professional and outstanding in the pace and quality of work completed. They worked through high winds and hot days. The final cost fell within the estimate provided. I am very pleased with my new roof (Owens Corning Duration Shingles) and the trustworthiness of Brian and the team. The product comes with exceptional warranties (lifetime for shingles) and is guaranteed for up to 130 MPH winds. The company covers a 10 year leak and labor warranty. Thank you Brian and Buck Mountain Roofing for exceptional service. I can finally relax knowing that my roof will withstand the Monsoon and winter storms. Thank you!

10 days later and I am still waiting for an estimate or phone call as to when I can expect the estimate. Brian Yoder was great when I first called for a quote for maintenance on my roof. He came out on February 4th to look the roof over. He arrived at the tail end of the quoted time, but called to say he was on his way. We talked a bit about the condition of the roof and I shared what my independent inspector had suggested. Brian left saying that he would email me a quote and that is the last I heard from him. I have called and not received a call back. I know roofers are busy, but I am only talking about a quote here. I am thankful my roof is not leaking and I will be putting this project on the back burner until roofers are giving real service again.

The final cost was about 700.00 more than the estimate; however, the disclaimer was that there might be more damage underneath the shingles, etc..which there was. Jim did the estimate and the work. He was very easy to work with and completed the work in a timely manner. He was professional and represented the company very well.

I called and talked Brandon on Friday. He and Jim came by on Saturday morning, took one look at the workshop roof and gave me a quote for work. I was able to get the job scheduled for the following week. Jim found himself short some supplies at the end of day one so he left me a note saying he would finish the next day and clean up. The roof looks great and Jim did a really good job cleaning up. Despite the fact that he had to come back a 2nd day the job was still completed before another company could manage to get me a quote. And the job cost me $200 less than the other slowpoke company!

I found these guys here on Angie's list and called in hopes of finding a company to repair my roof here in Monsoon season. A few moments later Brian, the owner, called back and told me that he was on his way out of town but that he would send Jay over the next day to look at two problem areas that I was trying to fix. Jay was supposed to be at my house between 11am and 1pm and call about 15 minutes prior to arrival. At 1:30 pm I opened my door to Jay walking back to his truck 30 seconds after ringing the door bell saying loud enough to hear, "that there is nobody home, oh wait here he is." I didn't mention to Jay that I was told he was going to call first or that he was a half hour outside the promised window and I let him go about inspecting the roof. After the inspection he was very thorough about the issues I was dealing with and spent time going over exactly what was wrong and how it was going to be fixed. This was the smoothest part of the consultation. I then asked about price. Jay needed to get Brian on the phone and explain the issues and get a ballpark price. Jay came back and gave me a rather competitive "ballpark". I told him that I couldn't commit to a verbal ballpark. I was told that he and Brian (back in town on Saturday) were going to be out at jobs all day and would stop by and give me a more formal bid for the job. Well Saturday came and went without a phone call, stop off, or email. I had told Jay the only thing holding up me hiring them was a formal proposal and I just couldn't get that from these guys. It is too bad because it seems like the know what they are doing and would have done a great job. My review is based on the ball being dropped.
Description of Work: I had a leak in the living room and one in the garage. The one in the garage was supposedly fixed 3 years ago by Jack's roofing when the previous owners lived here. I have come to find out that the job they did was incorrect.

Company owner Brian Yoder did everything right: I had an assessment and proposal within 24 hours of my call He recommended an Energy-Star rated system and re-sloped the area around the scupper to solve long-term problems with my flat roof His peaked-roof crew worked efficiently and left the yard spot-less each day His flat-roof crew knew my name and kept me informed of their progress every day Both crews went out of their way to exceed my expectations. The only glitch was that the project took several days longer than originally estimated--partly due to weather and partly do to scheduling conflicts with other jobs. I will definitely recommend Buck Mountain to friends and neighbors!

I think they were wonderful in all regards. They were very dependable. They were very punctual. They were appropriately reasonable. They helped us out very much with tax information; we were able to complete all the forms for the rebate. The boss came back to check the job and he was not happy with one small section of the roof - he repaired it completely. It rained very very hard the 3 days after they completed the job and the roof didn't leak at all. We were very happy with them!

Great. Responded to quote request promptly and provided detailed quote. One other roofer gave us estimate several days later while a third never showed up. Estimate included price by the sheet for decking replacement, if needed ( it was). Work started promptly and was completed on time - a minor delay encounter when it was discovered that Youngtown required a permit for roof replacement ( I had never heard of any area requiring a permit to replace an existing roof). On his final inspection, Brian saw some minor cosmetic issue that he returned to correct. A pleasure to work with.
