First of all, I'm sorry I didn't get to this sooner. Thankfully Mike wasn't a procrastinator like me. We had a flooded back yard that had been in that condition for at least 3 months. Our regular lawn service had tried repeatedly to find out where if anywhere there was a leak. They'd dug up lines but found no leaks anywhere. I finally gave up on them and called Mike. Mike replaced old worn valves, but that didn't stop the pool in the back yard. He came back twice on his own dime to see if he could figure out the problem. After a bunch of digging in the spot that the water was bubbling up out of the ground, he discovered that there was a pipe way under the ground that originated somewhere outside of our yard. Crossing over our street to the other side where there is a small neighborhood park, through some mysterious experimentation, he found that the pipes were neighborhood association pipes that the builders had run under the street and then under our block wall and into our yard! This was something no one would have ever imagined! But Mike, at his own expense, really wanted to solve the mystery and I'm so grateful he did. Though he was not responsible for fixing it, he called the city and offered to speak to the association if need be. Fortunately they were just as efficient and came out and replaced the whole pipe running under the street. Thank you for a great job!

Did a great job. Mike was able to repair a few (5+) existing sprinkly valves (which was cheaper than cutting and replacing). He was familiar with my brand of sprinkler system and was able give me a few tips on keeping it running going forward. I would definitely recommend him to others.

What a breath of fresh air! Mike Smith was prompt and a real pleasure to deal with. He actually got down on the ground, scooped the water out, dug in deep enough and found the leak that two other "irrigation experts" completely missed/overlooked/didn't bother to look for. It was a simple fix--an old lawn irrigation line that wasn't capped properly before the new landscaping was installed over it and buried it. I confessed to Mike that I knew very little about sprinklers/irrigation/landscaping--he spent about 30 minutes answering my questions and making recommendations based on the short time we plan to stay in our home. After having so many disappointing experiences with landscapers and previous irrigation experts, I was so relieved and so grateful to know that there are still nice, honest people out there who really know what they are doing! I highly recommend Mike Smith.

Mike came over the day after I called. He was able to come earlier than scheduled, which was very appreciated. He is super nice, very professional, and very knowledgeable. My timer had not been working and my plants were dying. I was really tired of trying to hand water my large yard in the heat. I had spent several hours, in the heat, trying to solve the problem myself without success. Mike figured out the problem very quickly, made the repair to the timer and even quickly changed out a 1/4" line I had been having problems with. The cost of this was just the $75 service call. I tell you that is as good as free! My sprinklers worked again and my plants were on their way to recovery. The next day I noticed that one of my valves was stuck on. I called Mike and he came right over, despite the fact he as on his way out of town for the weekend. He rebuilt that valve in nothing flat and charged me only $45, and no service fee, since he had just been out. I love this service! I spend a lot of time doing yard work. Now, that I know Mike, I am going to leave the sprinkler work to him. It just doesn't make sense for me to fuss with this when he can take care of it all so reasonably and quickly.

Richard came out and quickly found and fixed the problem with our system. He also made some suggestions for other changes that I can make myself and gave me some brief instruction on what materials to use and how to approach the problem. All in all I am very glad I called!

I called "I FIX SPRINKLERS" to schedule an appointment to get my timer replaced and the valves replaced as necessary. I believe I talked to Mike (though Robert signed the back of my check) and scheduled an appointment. We thoroughly went over the type of timer and valves I had so that they would have them when they came out to do the repair. He was punctual on the day of the appointment. He examined our timer, testing the drips and sprinklers. I explained that the manual mode worked but that the timer was not. He then looked at the valves, but they were buried in dirt and sand. His recommendation was to save myself some money and do the work myself. The timer "guts" would come right out and easy to replace, available at any hardware store. Also the valves were the lowest grade, but the insides could also be easily replaced. All in all he stated that I could save hundreds of dollars by doing it myself and that he would feel bad taking my money. The surprise then came that he needed a check for $75.00 for the service call!! There was no mention of a service call fee in our phone conversations, nor did the website mention any!!! And when he wanted the check made to "Trench-Masters" I became suspicious. What a racket! I wish I could get free money for recommending somebody else do all the work! Yes, I did replace the timer, special unit, not available at any hardware store, had to go to sprinkler/irrigation specialty store. They tested the unit and determined the WHOLE unit was bad, not the "guts". And I am still having major problems, many dead and dying plants. So I am looking AGAIN for a GOOD sprinkler repair man!! 8/22/2011- This is an update responding to the Providers Response. The response is a fabrication to make you believe that he made good and that he did more than he did do to provide good service. That it was an "honest" mistake. Watch out!! His inspection was to turn on the timers manually and view only the front popups to determine if they worked. After that Robert followed me to a seperate property, but at his request, rather than to make a seperate trip. I had planned to see how he did on my personal property first. I recall being surprised how fast we covered both properties, at most 40 minutes for both. Guess he adds for travel time. After my Angies report was posted we felt stalked by all the phone calls and emails from this guy and then by the unannounced showing up at our door. He scared the daylights out of my wife! and then supposedly put a refund check under our door mat! Doubt I'll ever see that. Most businesses would write a letter.

I called Mike Smith on Wednesday, and he came out Thursday Morning to work on my sprinkler system. He was very nice and showed up right on time. I showed him the problems and he looked at each of them and then gave me a price to fix everything. He was done in no time and even reset my timer schedule for me. I will definitely recommend him to my friends and call him again when I need more sprinkler help.

I received a prompt response to my email when I requested service. The repairman came out the next day and everything was fixed in about an hour. And I was shocked at how much less my water bill was after he fixed my problems.

This company consists of three individuals (two brothers, Mike and Robert Smith, and Scott Woodford, each covering different parts of the valley...they have a good website, ifixsprinklers.com, with detailed info.) I live in Glendale and spoke with Robert Smith, who covers, among other areas, Glendale and Phoenix. I called on Tuesday, and he agreed to come out the next morning @ 10am. He phoned around 9a, and said he was running early, and asked if he could come early (I appreciated the fact that he phoned rather than just show up unannounced.) He had given me an estimate over the phone of $75-$100. I sometimes do these fixes myself, but I could see this one was a bit more than I wanted to get into. By the time he had dug everything up and evaluated the full extent of the problem, I knew I was right in calling someone. The difficulties included two breaks, large tree roots, thin low-grade PVC, and a 4-way PVC junction. I like to hang out and watch (I learn things by doing this), and Robert was friendly and gave me some good tips about repairing PVC. At any rate, he finished, cleaned up everything, and actually asked for less ($95) than the high end of his estimate (given all that was involved in the repair, I thought this was more than fair.) This was a good experience on all counts and this is definitely the company I will call going forward for these sorts of issues. Experiences like this remind me why Angie's List is so worthwhile.
