Description of Work: Responded promptly to my phone call. walked me through a couple of repair options and quoted very reasonable cost for both. was willing to come by at that time which was in evening. replaced all outdated smoke detectors throughout house in record time and even help me with a broken electrical outlet!! what a relief.

Description of Work: The smoke detector man promptly returned my call and was extremely knowledgable. He explained all of my options and we set an appointment. He showed up on time and installed 10 smoke detectors. Based on our needs he installed 8 models that worked with ionization and two strategically placed that had dual functionality. He installed the quickly explained everything in detail and welcomed questions. He cleaned up after himself and offer follow up support if needed. I would highly recommend him to my friends.

 + -1 moreMy five smoke detectors were 11 years old and were the original ones with the house. They all started going off on Tuesday morning. I changed all the batteries, reset the breaker and they were okay for 24 hours. They went off again on Wednesday morning. I called a handiman who said I could change the smoke detectors out myself, wiring and all. I used canned air to blow the dust out and reset the breaker once again. I attempted to disconnect them from the plug but had no luck. They went off again on Wednesday night. At that point I cut power to them totally as I knew I had a backup smoke detector with my security system. I called The Smoke Detector Man on Thursday morning and he was out changing my smoke detectors on Thursday night!!! Same day service!! I couldn't ask for better responsiveness than that. His price was more than reasonable and he was done in less than an hour. To top it all off, he drove all the way across town to help me. I will refer all my friends to him! I knew that the batteries have to be changed but I was unaware until I did research and was told by The Smoke Detector Man that the units themselves need to be changed about every 10 years. Very glad I found The Smoke Detector Man on Angie's List!!!!

 + -1 moreMy smoke detectors were 13 years old and some were malfunctioning. He came the next day after I contacted him. Very professional and clean. He even vacuumed under the floors under the areas where he worked. It took him about an hour and I think this would have taken the normal home owner about 3 hours. Dan is a fire fighter so you may have to wait a day or two if he is on a shift. But, I highly recommend him. Since I no longer want to get up on high ladders, I will have him back each year to clean the units and replace the batteries.
Description of Work: Dan replaced all 8 of my smoke detectors, some of which were 16 feet up. He remounted one smoke detector which had been improperly installed.

Description of Work: IInstalled two new fire alarms. Installed old alarms in bedrooms free of charge. Replaced burned outlet free of charge. Thoroughly explained when and how to clean alarm and how to replace batteries. This took over two hours and charge was minimal. This man really care about people and fire safety. Definitely gets an A plus.

Description of Work: Dan Reynolds replaced smoke alarms (I provided the new alarms) and cleaned two previously replaced alarms in my home. He did a very professional job and was extremely helpful in explaining the need to replace the alarms, over 10 years old, and to test the alams monthly and replace the batteries (once a year).
