 + -1 moreThey're very good and very responsive. When I call, they get somebody out within a week or two. The staff is very friendly and they'll usually set up a time that is agreeable for both of us and usually the gentleman that they send out is very punctual.

 + -1 moreThey did a barrier treatment in the soil around a detached garage conversion. It was my understanding this was only warranted. They were aware of active termite at the entrance. A week later, tunnel arose and active termites observed. I called back and they said they could not come back out for two weeks. In my mind, this was unacceptable. After getting in touch with the manager, Scott, they came in a day and drilled in the expansion joints; not the perimeter or foundation, where it was thought the termites were coming from. I am to have a 5 year warranty. it took persistence to get them back out after paying this $ up front. After service for the second time, Scott followed up to make sure I was happy and the techician wanted to make things good.

 + -1 moreMike was rude & in a bad mood. He told me that this was not his normal route, that he normally works in Goodyear (I live many miles from there), that he was sent to do a yard that was 1 acre, was priced by the office at $85, & he had to tell the owner that it should have been $800, etc. Although the actual weed treatment only took 10 to 15 minutes, it consumed 7 hours of my time. S.O.S. needs to do a better job of scheduling to reduce the amount of homeowner time that is wasted waiting for the technician to arrive. We have 9 more months on our current weed control contract. Whether we will renew our contract depends on our experiences during the next 9 months. Angie's List requires that we answer the question about whether we would hire this company for future work, so we will fill in the blank, but the final decision is not one we will make at this time.
Description of Work: This is a follow-up visit on our one year weed management contract. S.O.S. Exterminating's Weed Management Division's first quarter inspection & post-emergent weed treatment was scheduled for April 26. S.O.S. demanded a 6 hour window (6 am-12 noon). Mike, the technician, arrived at 12:30 pm, claiming the delay was due to wind. Mike did not want to do the treatment, even though there was no discernible wind in our yard. Then he requested I sign an affidavit absolving S.O.S. of liability if he killed our plants & trees. I refused. At last, he treated the existing weeds, although he spent more time on his cell phone than doing the treatment. I had to point out several weeds he missed. Mike informed me that the Weed Management Division has a new manager & is reorganizing. I hope things get better.

 + -1 moreThe written contract is inconsistent with the verbal agreement made with Jana twice and Justin once before the work was done. We are very disappointed in this situation, especially since we have done business with this company since our house was built in 1999, and we have a continuing relationship and warranty with them for pest control. We hope that this is a one time disappointment.
Description of Work: We have had SOS Weed Control Service for approximately 5 years. We also have SOS pest control services. In January 2006, I called to arrange for weed control preventative treatment. I selected an annual contract of 4 quarterly preventative treatments with a one year re-treatment guarantee. I reviewed the offer via phone with Jana twice. When Justin arrived to do the initial preventative treatment, I again reviewed the contract terms with him before he began. I asked for this in writing and he agreed. When I received the contract and the bill after the first treatment was done -- Justin was in a hurry for me to sign -- I tried to read it as fast as I could. After he left, I realized that instead of 4 preventative treatments, the written contract calls for 1 preventative treatment and 3 quarterly visits to kill existing weeds. Hence, the preemergent weed treatment will only be done once rather than quarterly.
