I contacted Nick on Wednesday, and we scheduled a review of our job Saturday. Nick arrived as scheduled, listened to my ideas, and suggested improvements. I've been landscaping for many years, and was reluctant to contract someone since I'm so picky, but Nick and team enhanced my ideas, and delivered an excellent final product in 2 days as promised. Scape Tech is a solid and professional provider who will be my choice for years to come. These guys can be trusted to exceed your expectations!

Excellent! I "found" ScapeTech on Angie's List and was impressed with previous reviews, so I initiated contact. Owner Nick Rawlings contacted me very promptly and we arranged to meet at my house. We walked the backyard and I explained that we wanted to update everything and would welcome design suggestions, plants, trees, lighting, watering, etc. Nick was instantly likable, very easy to talk with. At no time did I ever feel that he was trying to pressure me into anything. To the contrary, after walking the property, he asked me what my budget was and he then made a number of suggestions. When he departed, he said he would be back in touch with a formal written estimate that would break down every expense item. True to his word, within a couple of days we met again and he reviewed every item on the list, explained its cost, as well as other options to consider. Nick was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions fully and completely. I felt that I had his full and undivided attention at all times and as importantly, he clearly listened to my questions and responded appropriately. We made a couple of minor changes to his proposal, I gave him my deposit and we were off and running. When the demolition phase began about a week later, Nick's crew did a beautiful job. They were all extremely hard-working individuals, and very pleasant. I didn't have an opportunity to speak at length with any of them, but they always had a smile and waved "Hello," which was very nice. Once the project began, just as Nick had promised, the work continued every day for approximately two weeks, until it was completed. Every day there was remarkable progress which was fun to observe. As part of the redesign we had some huge boulders installed that Nick personally selected from a quarry out of town. A large crane ultimately arrived to place the rocks. Nick was personally here, supervising their placement. What really impressed me was that when the large boulders were being hoisted off the truck and over a wall surrounding my property, Nick didn't know that I was observing from inside my house, but the care and attention he showed to each boulder's placement was very impressive. If a rock was set down in a given location and it wasn't quite right, or the most ideal surface of the rock wasn't facing in the most advantageous position, Nick had it repositioned. This happened with just about every boulder placement in order to obtain optimum results. I really felt throughout the project that Nick genuinely cared about the process and the end result. At no time did I feel that I was "just another" project. Communication with Nick throughout the project was outstanding, primarily by text and phone. As part of the project, Nick installed an entirely new watering system, replacing the older existing system, as well as lighting, and many new plants, trees, adding much-needed color, gravel, paver-type borders -- in short (probably too late for that), it was a first-class, absolutely beautiful job. Not only would I recommend Nick and ScapeTech to anybody, but I will be calling Nick in the spring to begin Phase 2 -- some additional landscaping, and after that, Phase 3, which will focus on my front yard. My wife and I could not be happier with the work Nick and his company performed and I look forward to working with him again in a few months.

Justin, one of the owners, came the evening after I called to give an estimate. Received estimate, and was happy with the quote. Work was done in a timely manner. Sterling, foreman, was professional, work was done in a couple days. Sterling even came back on a Sunday to go over what was done. I will use them again for my backyard pool area.

Nothing short of spectacular, Bubba!! Just a look at our front/back yards and you easily see that Nick of ScapeTech may have the hands of an extremely knowledgable landscaper, but he has the heart, soul and eye of an artist. Boulders, desert plants, and mound are perfectly balanced as if you painted a perfect desert scene. His hard working, friendly crew was simply amazing in their attention to detail. They double and triple checked drip rates and positioning. They even hosed down the street where dust landed from dumping the brown rocks in the street. Pricing not the lowest, but highest value for dollars spent. Exectional!

I had contacted and received quotes from two other companies initially. Quick with quotes but no follow up beyond that. I was frustrated and then I found ScapeTech. I called and spoke with Nick. He was out to firm up a quote within a couple of days and in less than a week we have a beautiful sidewalk/entryway leading up to our front door. I was nervous about choosing a paver color that was too loud. He recommended a color that looks exquisite. It's very muted but still lends interest with the color variations. I was also concerned that maybe the job would be too small for him based on the approximate costs I noted in the reviews here, but he assured me he works on jobs both large and small. The area to be done was complex as it is quite narrow, curved and ascends with a couple of steps along the way. His crew did an amazing job with the pattern and cuts to accommodate all of the twists and turns. They completely cleaned up after themselves. It looks cleaner than it did before they started. All of the path lights they had to move in order to do the job were put back and are in perfect working condition. Nick's client services skills are the best I've experienced in a long time. He immediately responded to all calls and texts. I'm thrilled with the workmanship and professionalism of this company.

Beyond Spectacular! Owner Nick may have the hands of a landscaper, but he's got the eye of an artist. When he interviewed us about our 'wish list' his feedback told me he knew exactly what we wanted. He took our scraps of ideas, assembled them in his head, then orally painted a picture back to us as he described what we wanted. I knew we'd found our guy! Then his remarkably hard working crew made the picture come true. Finishing touches were impressive, triple checking that everything worked and was placed perfectly...even washing the street where the rocks had left some dust. Not the cheapest, but Nick's estimate actually came in a little less than we had anticipated. Way worth the money when you see the transformation!

Nick first came to my home and surveyed the yard and provided an estimate from our discussion. The overall goal was to reduce the lawn area that required water. Once we had a design in mind, his crew came scalped the areas of lawn and sprayed these areas with grass killer. They did two applications and thoroughly removed any vegetation. The crew was very professional and knowledgeable. They came early each day at the expected time and worked steadily all day. Because there were a variety of surfaces to cover, the order of the work had to be timed and they did an excellent job of prioritizing. Materials were delivered on time and moved quickly from in front of the house to the back yard. Each day they cleaned up the work site before leaving. When all was finished, they removed any debris and hosed the street to clean the delivery points. Finally, they prepared the remaining grass area, spread mulch and seed. They designed the irrigation system to match the new yard, relocated the controller and the valve boxes and set the schedule. Two weeks later, the lawn is almost completely renewed. The owner, Nick, works directly with the crew and is at the job site almost every day. He was very flexible to make changes as we moved through the project. He has a lot of experience in design and color selection. I was very pleased with the result and will have them back in the Fall to do the planting of individual areas.

All this plus the fact they were on time, on the day they said they would be here and finished the job in the stated time frame.? The finished project more than matched the agreed upon concept.? Nick Rawlings, Scape Tech owner and landscape designer, went out of his way to include us in the developing project making small adjustments along the way.? His crew is superb.? No shortcuts, using the best materials, time and care in their work.? We can not recommend this company higher.? Of all the contract work we have done in the last 15 years, we are sorry we did not hear of these guy's sooner.

We just bought a new home. The front yard landscaping was done by the builder but the back yard was all dirt. We spent alot of time researching different options on Angie's List and at Home shows. We finally choose Nick as he was very easy to deal with, prompt on estimates, and offered very competitive prices. Nick came by the house multiple times do help us design and discuss our plan for the backyard. He also then took time on a Sunday to go by the nursery with us to pick out plants and offer suggestions. He was very helpful in helping us identify plants that would be easy to take care of in AZ as well as survive the heat. He then made us a great CAD design of the backyard so we could visualize what we would get! After that we made a few changes and he was very flexible in changing the design and recalculating the quote for us. We ended up putting in 1000+sq ft of pavers, 500+ sq ft of grass, 12 tons of gravel, and an assortment of plants/trees. We had a 4 zone drip system installed, 1 zone for the desert plants, 2 zones for the grass, and one dedicated zone for a garden we planned to put in later. All the materials used here high quality compared to "budget" brand stuff which we were impressed with considering his competitive prices. Once we were on Nick's schedule he told us he would get the work done in 3 days. Having to deal with many contractors with our new home I thought, there is no way this all will take 3 days but we will see. To my surprise, Nick was true to his word. ALL the work, top to bottom, and clean up was done in 3 days as promised. Nick has been the only person we have working with that actually kept to his schedule which was awesome. Even after he finished he came back by the house to show us how to use the timer and check on various items for us. Nick was fantastic to work with, easy to get a hold of and was willing to work around our schedule to meet our needs. We will be using him in the future for front yard upgrades. I would highly recommend him.

Nick provided us with a detailed drawing of our plans so we could submit to our HOA and it was accepted with out any issues. ScapeTech did an Outstanding job!!! The crew was organized and knowledgeable which means the work was completed in 4 1/2 days. They worked from 7:00AM & 7:00PM to meet the deadline. We are so pleased with the quality and would recommend ScapeTech to friends and family.

Extremely pleased with the service and the final layout of our landscaping. Justin was very helpful with recommendations that would enhance our home but keep us within budget. The crew was hard working, clean and courteous. This company and team really cares about their customers. Justin is easy to work with, very accessible for questions and very patient with any concerns. The new boulders were literally handpicked by Justin and are stunning. It took me awhile to get my plant list together and he guided me to the right decisions and gave excellent suggestions for our pavers and patio layout.

The men worked very hard in very warm/hot weather. It was a large job and they did a wonderful job. I'm glad to get rid of the weeds and have a nice front yard.

I contacted Nick through the Angie's List messaging system and heard back within 24 hours. We set an appointment and met at the house to talk about options and estimated pricing. Nick returned a few days later with a plan for the yard and we finalized the options and signed a contract. The next day Nick came out and treated the grass for the first time to kill it before it was removed, in all there were three treatments. A few weeks after spraying the grass, the team came in to remove the grass in the front and back of the house. They actually cut out the grass and roots. That day they also laid out the forms for extending the patio and creating a path. The following morning the team showed up at 5:30am and the cement truck was there early to pour the cement. Sandiego and the team of about four guys spent the day smoothing and finishing the cement. Before they left, the area was clean. The next step was the delivery of the tons of dirt at the house. The team showed up early again to start moving dirt, installing the new water lines for the drip irrigation system and the wiring for the led lighting. The crew created several planting mounds in the front and back of the house. Nick brought the plants and trees and laid them out for my approval before any thing was finalized. The team worked longer that day, so they would have less to do on the final day. The next day was early once again and the crew distributed the large pile of rocks that had been dropped off in front of the house. The large boulders were placed in the front and back planting areas. This final day, the team again cleaned up and were professional and respectful while working in our yard. Nick had estimated three busy days and the crew completed the work as scheduled. We made a few changes from the original estimate and before moving forward, Nick always advised me of the cost related to the changes.

Remove grass in front and back yards and replace with desert landscape. Nick contacted me the same day I sent a message through Angie's List. He came out a few days later and provided an initial estimate and ideas for the Landscaping. We agreed to the price and set a time to finalize the plans. They did three passes to kill the grass in the front and back yards and before starting with the Landscaping, have removed all the grass manually. His team worked hard coming between 6:30 and 7:30 in the morning and the actual process of putting in the dirt, planting trees, installing light fixtures, updating the irrigation with a drip system, and finalizing with rock took about a total of 3 days. The crew worked hard and we're very professional.

We met with several landscapers and asked for a design that integrated with our already under construction pool. Nick provided us with the best design and his prices were in line with the other highly rated Angie's List contractors. I was out of town when the work started and Nick responded to my concerns promptly via a phone call. Even when I had doubts about the design, Nick explained his reasoning and went out of his way to make us happy. He even went as far as removing a second Ash tree when we had a mix up about wanting a lemon tree instead. The work by Nick and his team really made the overall backyard and integrated so well with the pool that you'd never guess we designed the pool without landscaping. I highly recommend using Nick for any backyard project as you will not be disappointed.

Nick provided an estimate a few months prior to our home being built and remained in communication and flexible to changes that we wanted to make all the way through the job. The crew showed up when they said they would and worked sun-up to sun-down for about a week. We were impressed with the crews activity throughout the day and they never left the job site without cleaning up garbage and rounding up materials and tools before leaving. The paver work they completed went very well - they extended our driveway and walkway in the front yard with matching pavers and it is hard to tell the difference between the existing pavers and the new ones (the crew took time to mix and match the existing pavers to ensure they transitioned seamlessly). In the backyard, Nick's design for the pavers and artificial turf blended really well with our pool to make it very functional for our dogs and entertaining. The plantings and irrigation were set up so we could do additional plantings on our own later on very easily so we can add to it when we get more money. I really appreciate the flexibility that Nick and his team were able to provide as we changed our minds on what we wanted multiple times.

Justin and his crew were great! Justin was very responsive to my request to meet to discuss the project. He clearly understood the importance of moving the water away from the foundation of my house and had clear ideas about how to do it. His price was fair. His crew worked very efficiently and were as clean as possible. He and his crew were responsive when we encountered a change in plans and worked well to correct the issue. I would recommend Justin and Scapetech! My patio is fabulous and no more water up against my foundation!!

Nick was great to work with. Since it was just a small yard we expected to have the work scheduled around his other larger jobs. Instead the work started on Wed morning and was all finished by Fri evening. The crew was the hardest working bunch of guys we have ever worked with. We had purchased the plants from a nursery and the nursery was going to deliver and plant them. When they couldn't deliver and plant during our time frame, Nick picked up the plants and had his crew plant them for the same price I would have paid the nursery.We made some adjustments to the original plan along the way, and Nick and the crew were always accommodating. We really hope some of our neighbors with "nasty" yards get the hint and ask us for recommendations. We will gladly send them Nick's way. Thanks so much for an awesome job!

Justin and crew started and finished on time and as planned. They were always pleasant and friendly. They were also very careful not to disturb nearby plants and cleaned up the area so that you couldn't tell there was work done. Couldn't ask for neater work done with pride.
