Pearl Painting

Jonathan of Pearl Painting came to my house along with a helper at 8:30am. They prepped the room by covering the floor with tarps and taping the doorways and baseboards. I gave him a B in quality only because there was a noticeable hole where a large nail had been and he painted over it without filling it in first. I didn't notice it until after he left. I had purchased a deal of $99.00 for painting one room up to 12'x13'. Even though I only had 3 walls of a small room painted, he charged me $50 extra because I have 10' ceilings. There was no mention of extra charges for higher ceilings in the conditions of the deal I had purchased. But Jonathan and his helper did such a good job I paid it without protesting. They each wore the white painter's coveralls, were very neat and clean, and did a beautiful job on my walls. He even put a third coat on one wall. One complaint I would mention here is he was supposed to let me know what time he was arriving the day before but he never did. He called me at 7:40 the morning of the job to let me know he would arrive at 8:30. Since I wasn't sure what time he was coming, I had to get up at 4:00am to help my husband move all the furniture to the center of the room before he left for work. Had I known he wasn't coming until 8:30 I could have had my son help me at 8:00am and could have slept another 4 hours! Jonathan gave me some good tips and very helpful information in case I wanted to paint a small hallway myself and even told me where to shop for paint where I could get his discount. But I am pretty sure I will just call Jonathan again if I do decide to have anymore painting done! They prepped the room, put 2 coats on 2 walls and 3 coats on the third wall, cleaned up and were on their way in 2 1/2 hours. Fast, professional, and very good!

I did not receive responses in a timely manner. He wanted to bill me above and beyond what I wanted.

The two dry wall workmen arrived on time. They immediately reviewed what work needed to be done and then got to it. The work was done very fast and neatly. The finished product was excellent. And, most importantly, they vacumed and cleaned up after themselves. I was very pleased with this company.

John is the owner and operator of Pearl and a very nice fellow, we had several conversations during the job and I found him to be very professional, trustworthy and attention to detail type of person, he and Mark did a great job and I would and am using them again in the near future... The operation was done professionally to include attention to any overspray and cleanup, there are a lot of drywall people out there but if you want it done right I would call Pearl... Dino

I had purchased a Big Deal coupon for drywall repair work. He came out to look at the work I needed done and explained why he could not just patch repair the area. He told me the whole piece would need to taken out and replaced or else other issues would continue. I understood his explaination and appreciated his honesty. He was also very professional. I will probably end up using him next summer when I'm ready to paint my house.

I had purchased a big deal for the service, and it turned out fantastic. I emailed him, and we set up a date. The big deal was for $69, and there were no additional charges. They were professional, courteous, they came on time, and they cleaned up. It all worked out. The price was great, and good value.

I purchased the special offer of 3 hours of drywall repair for $69. Since the work took a little longer there was an additional cost. The completed work was done well. The only gripe I have is that the work required two appointments as they did not arrive with the appropriate equipment the first time even though I requested they bring a hopper at the time of scheduling.

Went exactly as planned. We scheduled a date - the owner and an assistant showed up on time and did all our repairs in an about an hour. No issues or concerns. I would use them again if needed.

The offer stated a height limit of ten feet. I emailed Jonathan, the company's owner, and requested a quote for the ceiling holes. He quickly answered with a $25 quote. I thought that was a very fair price. Jonathan and his partner worked VERY quickly and were done in about an hour, even though the offer was for 1-1/2 hrs. Consequently, he didn't charge me extra for the ceiling after all. That's a contractor I will remember and call again. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company. I am very pleased. HOWEVER, I hate being given an arrival time that spans several hours (10:30 - 2:00). It ruins a person's whole day. And it's really frustrating when workers show up at the 11th hour, in this case about 15 minutes past the projected ETA. However, I did receive a phone call shortly before 2pm to confirm the new arrival time. So all was/is forgiven.

I received a message stating they would be to our house between 8 and 12. I never heard from them, so I finally called at 2:00 to see what was going on and they said they were on their way. They arrived fixed the holes and were very nice. They said to take a damp sponge and wipe the spots down gently the next day and then to lightly sand. The spots do not blend as seamlessly as I hoped, but that could be partially do to me wiping it down the next day. Overall I am happy it is done.

He was in and out very quickly and did minimal work. He did an ok job and was rude well. He left without saying goodbye.

The work was done very nicely. It blends well with existing wall and the workers cleaned up after they were finished.

Perfectly-they called to give us an arrival time. Two professionals spent an hour and a half patching all the cracks in imperfections of our 16 year old walls. They did a beautiful job and now we are ready for a fresh coat of paint. Thanks Pearl Painting!

Immediately after purchase the provider pushed the appt over a month out. They are not in the portion of the valley where I live and was not much on delivering. I got the impression he can do the work, it was just not worth his time and after 6 weeks I had hoped to be more of a Priority but it wasn't worth the effort on his part. After 6 weeks , and a couple of days off work, renting an appliance dolly, it wasn't working out and he denied service on the scheduled days set.

This company is great! I purchased a deal for 3 hrs of drywall repair. Not only were the holes fixed and textured but I got a lesson on how to fix the holes myself in the future! Jon is a wealth of knowledge/experience and enjoys sharing it with you; he is an enthusiastic instructor! What a pleasure it was to have Pearl Painting in my home!

It was really hard to schedule with him, he said he was booked out 8 weeks. He did a really crappy job and charged an additional $75 for mud. I took pictures of the horrible job. I can still see drywall tape and the texture is very visible. I asked him to come back and he would not contact me back. I left him a message and he responded and got defensive with me. He agreed to come back, but I am not sure I want him to. They smoked the entire time, chain smoking, and had my entire house smelling like smoke. They walked thru my house with a cigarette and smoked in my garage. I have another painter here today and they are doing their best to cover his mess, but we will have to get more drywall work done to fix what they messed up. I would not recommend them to anyone.

It was OK and they completed the work. The person who complete the drywall work did did a good job but the assistant was inexperienced. Scheduling wasn’t a problem.

The service did not go very well. We were supposed to get 16 hours of painting and they showed up without the supplies needed. I outlined what I needed done for the two painters. They never worked at the same time and took a lot of smoke breaks. They also spilled paint on the carpet and I never got the stain out. I also had to buy my own paint for the job. I asked if I had bought enough and they initially said yes. They ended up running out of paint and I had to go out to purchase more which took away from the time I purchased. They also did not give us enough notice for the additional paint needed. That means they had to stop work and we were still charged for that time. They also started cleaning up a full hour before their time was up. They were very slow workers, but they actually did do a really good painting job.

The contractor was on time, professional and efficient in getting the work done. However, our walls have a skip trowel finish and the repaired areas don't match the surrounding surfaces very well. The price for the service was good, but I would rather pay more for a better result and am considering having the work redone.

A pro. Lots of advice for our many repair questions. A nice man to deal with.. He delivered on what was proposed in the deal.

I scheduled several dates for service for this deal. The first came and went with a no show or response from them. The second, they arrived late (after I waited all morning at home) and then instructed me that they could'nt do the work that day. No one followed up to reschedule or insure that it was a priority. It didn't appear that the owner (I believe) was all that interested in doing a small job. By the end of June. 2014, (4 months after the purchase) I still had holes in my garage ceiling from plumbing leaks). Time management seems to be an issue with this company.I would reccommend reading a lot of the reviews posted if possible. I wish I had. Angies List refunded my purchase of $69. I will not be seeking them out again.

The service went well. Most of the drywall was done in the garage and a bit in the bathroom. The company was very responsive and came within a day or two of me calling. They did exactly what the deal stated and completed the service in less than 3 hours. The technicians were very friendly and came on time. They were also very efficient workers. I had no difficulties with scheduling the service.
