Pearl Painting

He arrived on time and got right to work. Did the ceiling first which is really a lot of space then moved on and painted the den. Called Jonathan and asked if I could get another day and she said no problem he could come tomorrow. Came back next day and did the walls in bedroom and the other side that was on second story 20 feet high. Then had enough time to finish the kitchen. He did an amazing job AGAIN. He was able to get so much done in the two days and it all looks perfect. I don't throw compliments around lightly. I'm extremely picky, maybe a little anal. It has to be PERFECT or I'm not happy. As my first review said I have hired another painter off this list with A reviews, but they don't even come close to the quality of Pearl Paining. Trust me I will be using them again and again.

The job went well. We received an on-site quote after all things were considered. Jonathan made suggestions based on his experience, and we scheduled the job within a week of the quote. The work was done completely within the planned time schedule. The workers arrived promptly at 8am both mornings and immediately set to work. I actually commented on their work ethic, being very quiet, professional and always working, no on and off taking breaks, etc. The job was relatively tricky, in our opinion, with lots of prep work required before the main job of painting could be completed. The finished work has made us very happy, and we would use Pearl Painting again if the need arises.

We have hired another painting contractor to paint the entire exterior and address several issues created by Pearl Painting's work.

I completely prepared my house for painting and rearranged my schedule for the anticipated start date. I had been told ahead of time how much paint & supplies to buy for each area (during a pre-painting consultation). I was called on the morning of my scheduled painting at 7:45 AM and told they would have to reschedule for another time, that one of the painters had called in sick and another painter couldn't make it because it was raining outside and he drives a motorcycle. I was supposed to have 4 painters for an entire day, so I asked if they could send the other 2 and was told no, we would have to reschedule. I was offered another day 2 weeks later and declined (as I would have company visiting). We finally settled on a date in 4 days. When that day arrived I waited for 4 painters to show up but only 3 came to my house. They painted for 8 hours and told me they were done. They hadn't even started my kitchen or baseboards, therefore I was not happy and called the owner. He assured me they would finish up the job the following day. The next day 1 painter showed up and painted the entire kitchen. He did a great job but again, left after 8 hours and said he knew nothing about painting the baseboards, he was only told to paint the kitchen. I still have unopened cans of paint for my baseboards that I was assured would be part of the job above but I was so unhappy with the service level I never called the owner.

Jonathan has been to our home, now 2-3 different times to paint various rooms in our newly purchased home. He has repaired our ceiling drywall also. He and his men are great to deal with. Professional and do a fantastic job. They came extra early as requested. The work is impeccable. I have and will continue to work with Pearl Painting in the future.

We called Pearl Painting after seeing good reviews on Angie's List. Owner came out to write up an estimate. A couple of weeks passed and found a coupon for 50% off. Missed the opportunity, but was able to secure another coupon offered by Pearl for $999 for a painter for a week. To help keep cost down, my boyfriend painted all of the baseboards in the 2-bedroom condo. The painters did an excellent job. Pearl sent out four painters to get the job done over a 2-day period. The job required an extra day. The owner came out to collect the money as his crew was finishing. I was charged a significant amount more than what the original estimate was. The next day, my boyfriend challenged the bill. The situation was resolved with the owner. I would hire this company for their painting skills. But I would make sure that you know all the details and costs you are signing in a contract. Make sure that you know what the final cost will be before signing a contract.

In November 2012 I purchased "A Painter for a Week for $999" on Angie's List. My husband and I had just installed new vinyl, low-e windows throughout our home. We loved the windows but chose to paint the exterior white frames. Based upon the manufacturer's recommendation, we selected a spray-on Rust-Oleum product that bonds to plastic. Jonathan Duncan of Pearl Painting and his crew painstakingly taped and prepped all glass and protected surrounding walls and patio areas. They did a beautiful job over the course of three days from start to finish, including four 10-lite doors, 12 large windows, all window screen frames (we replaced the screens after), a shed attached to the end of our home, and three exterior doors on our guest house. We provided the paint, benefitting from Pearl Painting's contractor discount...Jonathan supplied everything else. My husband and I were thrilled with the end result!

We had to reschedule our original appointment as the house we were buying was not finished. Once we lost our original date we had to wait an extra two weeks. The painting team was courteous and did the work in 2 days. The color we orginally chose for the bathroom was not what we wanted when the color was on the wall. They were very good about repainting with a new color. Clean up was generally very good, although they did miss a few areas.

I was very happy with the workmanship and result of the work. It was really nice. The only complaint I had is that the painter had a rather negative attitude. I would use him again because his workmanship was outstanding. He was in and out in the exact amount of time that he said he would be. I was very put off that he chastised me for the brand of paint that I purchased. He should’ve mentioned that he preferred a particular brand when we made the appointment.

With a date of December 20th agreed upon, I proceeded to schedule other contractors to arrive after the rooms were painted to upgrade bathrooms, install new carpet, and clean tile. Much to my surprise, I received an email at 6:30 pm on December 19th from Pearl Painting canceling my appointment for the next day. Imagine, 12 hours notice of a cancellation. Jonathan cited three days of rain for the reason. Needless to say, this put us in a spot since we had already scheduled other contractors based on this paint date. Jonathan stated that the earliest he could reschedule us was January 4th, two weeks later. This was unacceptable so I notified Angie's List of the problem and told Jonathan that I was no longer interested in his services since I could not count on the reliability of his company. This morning, I received another email stating three days of rain and also Christmas vacations for his painters. Since I schedule a month in advance, I would think that Christmas vacations would already be factored into their schedule. There were three days of rain the prior week. Why not take care of your interior customers first and delay your exterior customers? Given all of the above, here we are three days before Christmas and my husband and I have to do all of the painting ourselves this weekend in order to be ready for the contractors arriving on the day after Christmas. Our Christmas plans are ruined because of poor planning and communication. I'm very disappointed and would never consider using Pearl Painting again. A note to Angie clients considering using this company, beware of last minute cancellations.

Our home looks beautiful. Just as we hoped. We didn't receive the initial consultation which would've helped set expectations for us and Pearl Painting. I didn't realize how slow the painting process was. I expected the professional could complete the main rooms of the home with two coats easily in 40 hours of work. Our guy worked hard but the trimming is a slow process and needed my help for three days calling off work to help complete the job with only a single coat.

It was a great experience. This is the 2nd time I used Pearl. Great job by the team of painters.

For time management reasons, I needed help finishing indoor painting of our house. In the two days I had the men from Pearl, they were able to finish a good chunk of what I needed help with. The men were professional, efficient and helpful.

We just bought a new house and wanted to get some interior painting done before we moved in. I called Pearl Painting for an estimate. Jonathan met me immediately for an estimate and was able to meet our very aggressive timeline so we could keep our move date as scheduled. The painting looks absolutely beautiful. I've had professional painting done before and the quality was not as high. Pearl Painting was slightly more expensive than other estimates I received, however it was well worth it. We are very happy and will probably call Pearl again to paint other rooms in the future.

Overall was pleased with the end result. However communication with Pearl could have been better. Initially we made contact and was told of an available date. I affirmed that date was ok only to find was no longer available. We agreed on another date and got a call 2 days prior if we could reschedule. Then it turned out they did not need to reschedule. While I appreciate the advance notice and that they ultimately showed up. It made me wonder if I was going to keep getting my service date pushed out farther and farther. Also I agreed with Jonathan to have a ceiling in one room painted. He said he always has white ceiling paint with him and it would be no problem to add that. Needless to say the person that arrived to paint did not know he was doing a ceiling and had no paint with him.

They worked very hard, long days to please me and in the end I was very satisfied. When I expressed to him how anal I was, he didn't realize to what level of analness I actually am. He found out and went above and beyond to satisfy me.

Two painters from Pearl Painting arrived, introduced themselves, and asked what areas I wanted painted. I showed them, they asked a few questions, and then they got right to work. They put down tons of cloths to protect my carpeting and started painting. They were courteous and professional. I do most of the painting inside my home, but I was uncomfortable painting in the stairwell and areas where the walls were higher than one story. That is why I hired painters to come in to take care of those areas. I am particular about the quality of the work, but I was very impressed. They worked quickly even in the tricky areas along the steps and high walls. They kept me updated along the way and got more finished than I expected in 8 hours. In fact, they pushed to finish the entire hallway for me, an area that I was quite sure would not be finished in only one day.

I was easily able to arrange for an appointment via email communication. My emails were always answered promptly. We arranged for the services without anyone from the company first coming to the house to view the space. I provided the room dimensions and was told the amount of pain and supplies to purchase. One team member arrived promptly at the scheduled time but the other one was 45 minutes late. They did a very good job of draping and taping the work area to prepare for the painting. I chose two different colors and the edge lines were all very professionally done and very straight. They also painted a shelving unit inside the master closet. The work was completed efficiently and professionally. My only complaint was that when I went outside later that night I discovered that when they cleaned their supplies next to the house they left an area in the landscape rocks with residual paint and they did not re-coil the water hose after it was used. I ended up with quite a bit of leftover paint. This could have been avoided with a visit to personally view the work area which would have led to a more accurate estimate of the amount of paint required. Overall a good value for money.

The painter shows up an hour late to our appointment, wreaking of alcohol, after driving dangerously fast through a kid filled neighborhood. His truck is blaring music we heard from inside the house. After looking outside, my son saw him undressing in the street, to put on his painting outfit, to give the appearance that he had come from a previous appointment (which is what he said). On top of that he was more than 2x as expensive as this job should be (according to industry professionals). I would not trust this person to be in a house without anyone else being there. I would never recommend him to anyone I respected or wanted to maintain a friendship with afterwards.

I received the promotion via email and called what turned out to be the Owner immediately, (got his cell phone) to see if I could get a vaulted ceiling painted; he agreed, I paid for 2 "rooms" to make up for the trouble. Trying to communicate with the Owner was difficult at best-inquired about an other promotion they offered thru' Angie's list 3 times and NEVER heard from him. As for the service, the 2 painters showed up early, were VERY Professional and did an amazing job. Of course, Owner did not inform them of the job they were about to do and being their only job for the day, they did not have a long ladder or extension poles for the painting-NO fault of theirs. I had these and they were very gracious, used them and cleaned them better than they were. They laid out tarps and covers and not a drop of paint was out of place. Th Owner is the problem with this company and a B rating was because of the 2 guys that came out that day so that is being kind. I would NOT use them again unless I could be guaranteed the same 2 guys. Thank you.

The experience with Jonathan was exceptional. I had purchased a $99 big deal for painting of a single room. He had followed up on my purchase to see if I wanted to schedule my painting. I informed him that we were having wallpaper romoved and could not schedule until the drywall and texturing was completed. I emailed him to get on his schedule and he had availability within the week. He also suggested where I purchase my paint form and extended his pricing discount with this store. Only thing we failed to confirm was how much paint I would need....but the store was very helpful. He arrived on our agreed upon date. Upon learning the texture was new he ran to the store for some extra materials. Most painters would have just painted the walls as they were....Jonathan went above and beyond. He washed down the walls, caulked all the edges around cabinets, counters etc, applied primer, 2 coats of paint, and hand trimmed the wall ceiling edge. I woul definitely recommend Jonathan and plan to use him again for my painting needs.
