We ended up with a broken pool pipe which Jimmy denied breaking and had to hire a reputable contractor for @250 to repair Jimmy's damage.

1st Class LLC (Jimmy Damore) did a good job landscaping our back yard March 2012, but later in the year we hired him again and he never finished the agreed work. He also made a scene in my front yard, demanding money he was not due. The total service for the first job was just over $4000. We both signed a written contract specifying the labor and materials to be provided, and I paid half in advance. He completed the work quickly and with good results. Two months later, in May, I hired him to do some additional work in back yard and in our mostly completed front yard about $3000. We again used a written contract defining labor and materials. When he was about half complete with the second job , we made the mistake of paying him balance of the total on a Saturday before the banks closed, at his request . I understand how important cash flow is for a small business, so I agreed. He left, and never finished the job and never came back. After three weeks of phone calls and text messages, he came by our home and told us we owed him an additional $1000 for the FIRST JOB (in March), and demanded $1300 more to complete the second job. We showed him both written contracts, our sketches, before and after photos, and text communication during the March and May job, he simply said he had not read them very carefully, and the were not what he agreed to. Until this point I'd never heard that he thought i still owed him money for the March job completed two months earlier! After a half hour of a comical argument in my front yard, I asked him to leave. He stated he would not leave unless I paid him another $1000, so I went inside and left him in my yard. (He then left). After several days I called him back and asked him if he wanted to work off the remaining value of the front yard (about $1000) and he declined. I told him I'd be open to any arrangement that did not include me paying him more money for work we'd already agreed to, but I guess he was on to his next job. My experience with 1st Class is that Jimmy does high quality work, but he is dishonest, and doesn't have the financial solvency to complete the jobs he starts. I would never hire him again, and recommend that you don't either.

We are very happy with Carbon. I think he is a good guy. He will do extra things sometimes. We will pick up the phone and he will come right over. We have used him for a while and he has done tons of extra stuff at no charge. He is here every Tuesday. I think we are very fortunate to have him.
