It went quite well. I am happy with the results. The split-rail is weathering now and looking more rustic. I love that look. The rails are straight with some natural splintering, but not much. No one that I have seen stops to peel the rail. Okay, the only wish I have is that I wish I had had more money to bring the fence up to the house instead of stopping four feet up the driveway. But, it is workable and my lack of funds is not an Accurate problem. As a matter of fact, I feel the price was very reasonable and I was thankful I could afford it. Because Accurate is very personable, I never felt pressured to do my job his way. However, I am inexperienced in the construction world. I know dreams and things I would like to have. Accurate was very patient with me and discussed the options that were in my dream. Accurate measured and remeasured, if necessary, to show me that things would or would not work. This made me happy. I have had horrible experiences with contractors who are impatient and have only oneway of doing a job. Or, they don't seem to have an imagination. Accurate has an imagination. Accurate will bring your dream come true if it is possible. If this dream is not possible, Accurate will show you why. Overall, this was a very good experience!
Description of Work: I know the theory is that if you want to be selected and not missed that you should give your company a name starting with the beginning of the alphabet. I have never looked at the alphabet to select a contractor or anyon. As a matter-of-fact. I get estimates. Just as I did with Accurate. However, I will say, I had an advantage because my neighbor hired Accurate to do a job for them. Therefore, I felt more comfortable trusting Accurate than anyone else. Accurate did a very large job of laying flagstone for my neighbor. Not only did Accurate lay the flagstone, but the owner wanted the flagstone set in cement and only in a certain already laid out portion of their yard. It took Accurate two - three weeks or more to complete this job. The ground had to be leveled, then tampped down to secure the ground for the cement. Because the pieces were irregular, they had to be cut in order to fit nicely for the grouting esthetics. My neighbor was terribly concerned about esthetics and Accurate complied. Considering this final product, I did not think that the amount of time to complete the work was too long. The workers were meticulous. For these reasons, I decided that I could safely hire Accurate. I did and my experience with Accurate was very good. My contract with Accurate was not large at all. It was a very small job. It was completed in two days only because the cement had to set. I asked Accurate to install a decorative, non-functional, split-rail fence. Accurate did. Accurate was very patient with all my questions as I am a terrible worry-wart due to extremely limited funds. I never felt as though I was annoying or interferring with the work. I am very happy with my split-rail fence! Even though I said it was a non-functional split-rail fence, it does have it's function, and that is, pet owners are not able to allow their dogs to travel onto my property to do their business. Nor, are the pet owners likely to stop and let their dogs pee on my fence posts. My dogs and I go out often to check that out. Because of this well-built, functional fence, I no longer find the remains of inconsiderate dogs' deposits on my property. And, I think that is wonderful!

Russ is definitely a straight-arrow sort of person with a hard-to-beat "can-do" attitude. He stuck right on his Bid amount, never an issue and asked for the standard payment of half up front, the rest at the job's finish. He's licenced and has been in his business over 10-years. I got 5-Bids and his came in the lowest by $3000. This old built in the 50's roof had dry rot in places on the eves and one gable and he replaced the boards. He did that extra. Other Bidders projected an extra expense for hiring-in a derrick to lift the A/C Condenser, etc.. He avoided all that cost and my expense of an A.C. Pro. to unhook/hook-up the lines with a quite simple solution. This roof will outlast me and silicone use as a sealer means no leak worries for 10 years, probably. The roof was on soon enough to catch the end of the summer direct sun/heat. Where the A.C. ordinarily came on at 10AM 'til 4PM, with the new roof it didn't come on 'til 2PM.
Description of Work: A new metal roof was installed, pitch 1 in 12. Area about 3423 sq. ft. He uses Lowe's 29 gage panels cut by them to fit, no overlaps.... and ridgecap with self-sealing screws and Silicone as a misc. sealer. A galvanized finish was chosen over other painted surfaces for it's radiant energy (not just heat) reflective index. The ceiling/roof has 3/4's inch fiber board for insulation; no attic. Work time averaged out to about two days for the Business Owner and one Helper. I had leaks in the porch roof (not a part of his Bid) that he said he'd return to repair if I had to call him; no charge on the labor. I did have to call and he returned on 11/20/09 and installed 37' of 14" flashing; my purchase. Took them about an hour. He made it clear to call him on anything else.
