Roto-Rooter

Despite what the Roto-Rooter brand might lead one to think, Kevin Fix is a full-service plumbing contractor with all the necessary resources and skills that a homeowner might require. I knew what I was getting, since I had used his services 20 years ago for a major gas-line upgrade. That was the best experience I have had with a tradesperson in my 40 years of home-owning. He was easy to reach this time, too, and responded promptly to my questions (he works with a wireless telephone headset that helps him keep promises and keep track of jobs). Kevin kept his appointments, observed his schedule, and beat his job estimate ($2500-3000) by a wide margin, even with an unanticipated sewer-line repair and the upgraded material that I requested (1" rather than 3/4" line). I expected the loss of a stone wall that enclosed my front yard, but it turns out that Kevin is an artist with a backhoe (government experience, he says) and was able to dig under and maneuver over my two-foot wall, leaving it intact. He and helpers restored the grade when done. (including Mrs. Fix, who pitched in at the end, hoping to get Kevin to his bowling league on time). During the job, I returned midday from work to view progress (there had been a lot) and at that point discussed with Kevin replacement options for a new waterline. He had previously recommended 3/4" Pex-A plastic tubing rather than the 3/4" copper that I had anticipated, so I had time to research these products and discuss their merits with him. As a result of this discussion (and my desire not to need another upgrade in my lifetime), Kevin boosted the waterline capacity to 1" at my request and without hesitation or second-guessing. I have had no subsequent problems with this installation and expect none. I also would have no hesitation about phoning Kevin with further inquiries or help with this work, should I need it. As I knew from his work 20 years ago, Kevin Fix is friendly, good-natured, very hardworking, and completely reliable. He is also a curious, well-informed person, who has been completely responsive to my curiosity and fondness for comprehensible information. I did not hesitate to seek his services this spring, and I would not hesitate if ever I again need a Flagstaff plumbing contractor. I have no reservations in my enthusiastic recommendation.

Kevin gets an A+ from me! My bathtubs and showers were backing up with water from my washing machine and I had no idea why or what to do. After consulting Angie's List, I gave Kevin a call...he was busy, but promised to call me right back. Five minutes later, he called, got my address and promised to send someone as soon as they were available. Whthin 20 minutes, Kevin and Chris arrived, worked their magic on my root-filled drains...and solved my huge problem! What a huge relief! I highly highly recommend them!

The service was prompt and professional. The workman was knowledgeable and thorough, ran the snake twice from house to street sewer to make sure the line was cleared from roots.

It was okay. They really didn't stick to the price that they had quoted. They kept kind of changing the price quote. I'm not saying that they were unreasonable in the price.

Called, and talked to a nice gentleman that said the owner would call me back. Nobody ever did.

They are an excellent service for us. They do everything for our business, from hot water replacement to unclogging a sink. We have 2 restaurants so we use them quite a bit. They always make us a priority. Their work is very thorough. If they miss something they come right back out. We are happy with them.

Went well. Cleared accumulation of hair in the drains of two bathtubs and two bathroom sinks. Women in house, much long hair.
