We have had ice dam problems, with leaking inside the house, for the past two winters. This winter, while living in the middle of a variety of empty cat-litter buckets slowly filling up with water in our living room and bedrooms, we called Dave to have him come over and take a look at our roof and tell us what we could do. He came that same afternoon, looked at the shingles that weren't covered with snow and told us that it looked like a lot of them were raised, allowing the water to get under them and into the house. This spring, with the snow finally melted from our roof, we called Dave again to come and give us an estimate. He came the next morning, showing up right on time (maybe even a few minutes early). He climbed up to the roof and did a full inspection. Apparently we had a lot of damaged/lifted shingles and he suggested redoing the whole roof. His quote sounded reasonable to us, but we know nothing about roofs, so I called two other local companies to come and give estimates. One came the next day, but I had to call them about 5 days later to send us over the estimate; it came in $2700 higher. The third company finally showed up about a week later, the day before Gold Peak was scheduled to start. The crew did a great job. They showed up on time each morning, and were a pleasant bunch of guys. They cleaned up the debris from the job. They even agreed to add a job at the last minute: the removal of our old hot-tub. The hot tub was huge and was in a side room that was built around it. So they had to saw it into pieces to get it out. The price above includes the roofing, the skylights, and the hot tub removal.
Description of Work: We had our entire roof re-shingled. It's a single-story building, about 3000 sq ft, with garage and covered patio included. The guys took off all the old shingles, inspected the boards for any that were rotten, replaced rotten boards, replaced four skylights, added a moisture barrier, and put on new shingles (Elk, 30-year architectural). They also took a chainsaw to our old, non-working hot tub and removed that in pieces.
