Desert Mesa Painting

We met Joe from Desert Mesa Painting when he was dropping off flyers for their business. We decided to have the company bid on the exterior painting of our home, then contracted with them, and they did an excellent job. We sold that home and had Joe back to bid on the interior painting for our new home. Again, we were impressed and happy with the work.

Let me just start off by saying that I have never written a review before because I feel it is not worth my time. Well, today is the day where I inform everyone that is thinking about contracting this company to look elsewhere. George Piper Watson, who owns the company now after taking it over from his father has managed to not communicate at all with Me (as a customer) or the workers that he has sent over to fix and repair. George use to run a roofing company (his contractor license has been revoked, you can check the azroc.com website). He company did a horrible job, lots of leaks and water damage all over my living room. George (after weeks of calling and texting him) decided to send 2 painters so had no idea what they were there for to come and fix the roof leak. They attempted to fix the leak. Drywall repair has been an absolute nightmare with this guy. Do yourself a huge favor, dont contract this guy or any of his affiliate companies do anything at your home. Extremely disappointed in his professionalism and complete lack of communication. I will be filing a compliant with the county office and taking this claim to the fullest extend.

Everything was taken care of perfectly. Quality workmanship! Great cleanup afterwards. We would recommend Desert Mesa Painting to our friends. We will also call them for future home maintenance.

It went very well. I did my homework and had two other quotes. Desert Mesa Painting did more work for the same price as the other companies. The painters and roofers lead by Jorge did a detailed job. I will use them to paint the interior of my home and am recommending Desert Mesa Painting to my neighbors.

This company did everything asked and more. Joe came out to give an estimate and explain what paint and caulk they use, very informative. George and his partner, sorry didn't get his name were excellent in doing their work. They moved a large pot I have on the front porch into the garage for me without a question. They filled every crack and did a great job caulking. As far as being careful and not messy, they were great. I have cool deck on the patio and coating on the front walk and drive way and nothing was hit with paint. Great job from a great company. Thank you Joe and the crew. Would definitely use again.

They are very high-pressure salesmen. Quality of their work does not compare to others. The next time the exterior needed painting, we got someone else who did a much better job and for no more money whereas, years later, prices usually have increased.

AWESOME - can't believe it's the same old house that I just bought -- QUALITY QUALITY QUALITY! I will never use anyone else - there's no comparison between this paint job and the one done on my other house years ago, These guys spent 2 whole days caulking every crevice and wow, what a difference that makes. After the caulking they did a perfect job of applying TWO coats of acrylic paint. What a beautiful, smooth looking finish. My neighbor was so impressed she had them paint her house right after ours was done - think that tells you we weren't the only ones who were impressed!

It went very well and we are well pleased with the job.

No money was requested up front and we didn't did not have to pay until we were completely satisfied. They corrected all issues until we were completely happy with the entire project. His entire crew is bonded and they go to great lengths to protect your home.

It all honesty it went well. However, I did ask him for a quote to stucco my brick wall and paint it to match the house. He never provided a quote for that work. He also stated that he would pay a referral fee to anyone who I recommended. I recommended two people and I know one used him and I never received a referral fee. His brother painted our house next door. We live in a gated community and they homeowners wanted to change the color of the house paint and of course, to do this you have to go through the HOA. His brother stated he wasn't going to wait for the HOA; if they charged the homeowners for not getting the approval, he would pay the fee. Interesting. . . .

I don't like them. I don't think he pays his workers adequately, and he is too big to be cheap. The work was adequate, but I didn't like the boss, he is arrogant. He was a little pushy, and he was rushing for it to be done.

Very well, work was on time and on cost! Just a great job!

Joe came by one day when his crew was painting some houses up the street, and did a quick estimate. I checked out the work on the other houses as well as reviews on Angie's List and decided to go for it. I was given color charts, but he said he could mathc just about anything. The crew came by the next afternoon and did a power wash on the house. Next day they did prep, including crack repair. The third day they painted. The whole process was quick and efficient. They painted house, trim and gutters. I had one small issue with some caulk around the base that didn't take. That was remedied the next day. I chose the high quality acrylic paint. If I'd wanted to get by a little cheaper, I could have chosen a lower quality paint and saved about $500.

The price was right in line however I went with another company because they gave me a written estimate with many references and additional options for work needed around the house

overall this company performed an excellent job. The painting is guaranteed and guess what? It still looks new at this time of reveiw writing....the crew was professional and performed at a timely fashion. I highly reccommand this company for all your exterior painting. Top quality and excellent workmanship combined with outstanding sales gives you the best company in the area to give your home or business a fantastic facelift.

George Watson was pleasant and cooperative to deal with. His crew completed the job in a timely manner to my complete satisfaction.

The job was prepped one afternoon and painted the next day with minimal disruption to me and my pets. They did a fantastic job! I am very pleased with their work, their neatness, and their professionalism. They moved furniture, took down artwork and replaced everything when they were finished. I will definitely use Desert Mesa again. When I called for an estimate, the office staff was friendly and professional. The estimator called soon afterward and stopped by later that day as he had a crew working nearby. The estimate was in line with the other two I received but I found Desert Mesa more professional and responsive. I was offered two prices depending on the quality of paint I chose. When I called to schedule the job, I again I had a quick response. I was slotted in that same afternoon because they had a last minute cancellation. I chose the high-quality paint and the result is spectacular.

Everything went just as planned . They arrived exactly when they said they would and other crews doing other jobs came. I was so pleased to have a excellent job done inside and out.

This is what I wrote on November 1, 2009: James Watson did an excellent job on both of these projects. I am very please and have had a lot of compliments. The little bit of follow-up that was needed has been excellent. This is what I am writing now, September 29, 2011: I am changing my opinion of James Watson and Desert Mesa Painting. Although he has always been polite the last time I talked to him he displayed a very unhelpful attitude towards me like he thought I was asking to much of him or not being appropriate. I have had a lot of experience with contractors and if this attitude shows itself, to me it means a big red flag! In 2009 my entire home exterior was painted with Latex exterior paint even the aluminum siding and soffit ceiling on patio cover and over-hangs by Desert Mesa Painting. The paint on my home's gutters starting pealing and hanging off the gutters right away - James did send someone out to paint over it once (see report above) but then a few months later it happened again in the same places in the very front of my home. When it happened the second time I just decided to wait and get new gutters put on the home and try to match closely to the facia paint. I did that but it cost me extra for new gutters. My patio ceiling that they painted became stained with water spots and James Watson claimed it was caused by my leaking roof at the time. Come to find out recently that the aluminum patio ceiling should not have been painted with that kind of paint and the spots was probably caused from when we cleaned up the dust and dirt on the patio using our garden hose. I am very disappointed with this company and Watson's attitude. I will not use them again.

We had them come in and give us an estimate after we told them what we wanted done. They wanted to start a couple of days later but I said I needed a week. Their office person told us to remove breakable nick-nacs but that we could leave the rest. We did take down the valances, removed blinds, and our pictures off of the walls. They covered every thing else and moved furniture as needed. After they were finished they put everything back to it's original place. They did come back the following day to see if touch-ups were needed. The crew that they had come to our house were both courteous and professional. They cleaned up after themselves. I did vacuum after they left because I am a neat nick.
