+ 2 moreI called 3 different lawn maintenance companies, all of which I got from Angie's List. Fred Campa of BDL was the first to return my call the same day. He arrived the next morning at exactly the scheduled time to do a walk through with me. He was personable and very professional. Once we chose BDL to maintain our yard, Fred was able to schedule us the very next day. The crew was great. Fred stayed the entire time to make sure everything was done to his and our satisfaction. He walked through the different areas with us and asked us how we wanted different plants trimmed. He went above and beyond by looking at our sprinkler system and drip system and making some adjustments. Everything was exceptionally clean and all work looked great. I wish we would have hired them sooner!
Description of Work: Beautiful Desert Landscape provided lawn services for our front and back yard. They trimmed about 30 different hedges and bushes, pulled all weeds, sprayed for weeds, trimmed large ficus tree, fertilized & mowed grass, raked desert rocks, and adjusted sprinkler and drip system.

I have continued to notice "little things" they did without my specifically asking (like cleaning out debris and smoothing dirt in a stack of empty planters, trimming the grass outside the fence in the alley). Very impressive attention to details. I was not at the house when the job was complete and had already paid. So I was very impressed when Fred called me the next day to make sure I was satisfied with everything. It showed great professionalism and courtesy.
Description of Work: My yard had been neglected for a long time and was overgrown, leaf-ridden and generally a mess. Fred and his team handled it all: trimming shrubs, cutting back overgrowth, mowing grass, bagging lots and lots of leaves, haul-away and some minor tree trimming.

+ 0 moreInitially Fred had hoped to finish another job by Tuesday and start ours then. Unfortunately, that job took longer and he didn't get to ours until Friday morning, but he kept in contact with me and I assured him I was OK with the delay. Promptly at 0630 Friday morning he and his crew were out doing the work. As promised, the weeds were pulled and the plants wrangled into control in both the front and backyards. The grass, as promised, looks worse because it was too tall and had to be cut to the undergrowth. I would have been mortified if he hadn't explained all that to me first!
Description of Work: Our new-home yard (read: dirt) was professionally landscaped last summer and although the company did a nice job with the work, we weren't left with much knowledge about how to care for the landscape. As a result, and because we tend toward the lazy "it'll still be there next weekend" attitude, it's gotten overgrown. Fred came over and walked the yard with us, going over every plant and how he would care for it. He asked our opinion about how we wanted our shrubs (topiary vs. natural), warned me that some of the work would initially look worse before it got better (thank goodness he warned me!) and described how he would prune our trees for best effect. Although his estimate was higher than another highly rated Angie's List company, I felt like I had an accurate idea of what I was paying for and that he really knew what he was doing.
