After several expensive visits from larger company - with somewhat more professional LOOKING personnel, who informed me I had coolant leak & could keep topping off coolant but copper core was cracked & entire unit would need replacing . . belatedly called home warranty co. who put me in touch w/Young's for 2nd opinion. Got next-day appointment + called to ask if he could come EARLIER than scheduled. While not most confidence-inspiring appearance (holes at knees, scraggly Manson-esq (Charles, not Marilyn), reeking of cigarettes), was prompt, courteous, and seemed knowledgable. Found NO leak but heating went out within 2 days. Called in evening & came back very next day -Performed thorough leak/pressure tests - still found no leaks, replaced electric relay of some sort within heat pump and system has continued to work fine for almost 6 mos to date. Was knowledgeable, seemed thorough and took time to thoroughly explain what he had found and what he had done. Second trip was at no extra charge. Note that my home warranty service resulted in lower fees than would have otherwise been the case. Appearances count - hence the "B" reluctantly assigned for "Professionalism", but service-wise, I am completely satisfied and would use again. Very much an overall "A".
Description of Work: Performed visual inspection, pressure/leak tests, replaced electrical relay in heat pump. Prior company told me there was coolant leak & copper core too old to replace and would need to replace entire unit within perhaps 6 mos to a year. Young found no leak but did find some manner of electric relay that needed replacement. So far, nearly 6 mos later - heat continues to work fine. Have yet to try AC for the 2011 season.

I CALLED YOUNG'S MOBILE A/C; THEY TOOK FOREVER TO RETURN THE CALL, AND THEN THEY WEREN'T FRIENDLY WHEN I DID FINALLY GET IN TOUCH. THEY WEREN'T TOO INTERESTED IN HELPING ME OUT, SO I DIDN'T USE THEM.
Description of Work: THE A/C IN OUR HOME DIED; THE PLACE WAS SWELTERING, AS IT WAS MID-AUGUST WHEN IT HAPPENED.

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE EXCELLENT PRICE WE GOT FROM MR. YOUNG FOR THE WORK HE DID (SERVICING OUR A/C). HE WENT THE EXTRA MILE BY GIVING US GOOD ADVICE ON HOW TO CLEAN OUR REUSABLE AIR CONDITIONING FILTER. HE ALSO GAVE US ADVICE REGARDING THE NEED TO LIFT OUR A/C UNIT OFF OF THE CONCRETE IT WAS SITTING ON, TO GET LONGER LIFE OUT OF IT. WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH MR. YOUNG'S SERVICE.

CALLED ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON. RESPONDED WITHIN 1 HOUR AND DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. COULD NOT GET THE REPLACEMENT UNIT UNTIL MONDAY MORNING. HAD THE UNIT INSTALLED AND RUNNING BY 11 AM THAT MONDAY.

THEY ARE WONDERFUL!!! THEY COULD HAVE CHARGED ME FOR JUST ABOUT ANYTHING AND I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN BETTER! THEY CORRECTED ANOTHER COMPANIES ERROR AND GOT MY UNIT UP AND RUNNING WITH JUST THE SERVICE FEE CHARGE. I HAVE USED THEM SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY ARE PROMPT AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE.
