WOLVERINE POOLS

Pool remodel went very well. Top grade craftmenship throught the process. My wife and I where amazed at the final product. project included increasing pool deck size. renovation of pool deck, rebar repair, and cleaning of tile, pebble tech and waterfall.

This was a very difficult process. Wolverine was referred to me by my pool service guy who I have used for many years and trust. The owner of Wolverine does not live full time in Arizona, which was of concern, but I went forward with the work anyway based on the referral. I actually paid a higher price than some other bids to use Wolverine. The installation was done on time and the price was as stated. After the installation was complete, I paid the company. After a couple days it was clear that things were not working correctly. I called Trent, the owner, and asked to have them fixed. Trent sent someone out to fix the issue, but it was not fixed. Again someone was sent out, but the issue again persisted. I told Trent my intent was to cancel my check for the final payment until the job was complete, at which time I would write another check. Trent then became very unprofessional, threatening to put a lien on my home and take me to court. None of this really mattered to me because I knew they did not complete the job, but it was very unprofessional of him in my opinion. In the middle of all this, when they were not able to get the issue fixed, Trent tried to tell me that the issue was related to broken pipes that were there before he started the work, which was absurd. In the end Wolverine was able to get the issue solved (no broken pipes), but it was a very unpleasant process to reach the end with them. I have had other minor issues since then, but would not dream of calling Wolverine back to ask them to explain what they did or fix anything because of the negative experience I had with them. I have called in and paid another company rather than have to deal with Trent and Wolverine. I recently mentioned this to the pool service guy that referred Wolverine. He told me that he had worked with Wolverine successfully for many years, but that over the past 8 to 12 months, multiple people that he had referred to Wolverine had come back to complain to him about them. He said he had stopped referring people to Wolverine.

I am very pleased with their service, price and professionalism. I have used other pool companies in the past that would promise weekly service on a specific day, and they wouldn't show up until days or even a week later. I never knew if I was even getting my 4 services/mo. that I was being billed for. Not so with Wolverine Pool Service. If they say you have a Thursday schedule, Thursday it is. I am very particular about whom I let into my yard when not at home, but I completely trust Wolverine. They leave my gate locked up when done. They even put a service chart in my control panel with the date and water results, also any chemicals that were added to my pool. I like that a lot, since I can check the sheet and know it is safe or not to allow my family in the water. Thanks Wolverine Pool Service!!!!!!!

They have always been responsive to my needs year after year. I even called one Saturday afternoon when something was going wrong with the pool and I had family in town. Ron came over within the hour and fixed whatever it was! I highly recommend them!

I was referred by my pool maintenance contact, Jerry Rider. I called Trent, he knew exactly what I needed, told me the price we set up a range of time when he could perform the work. He actually was able to do the job sooner than I had anticipated. He showed up as promised, installed the rail. It looks and works great and there were no hidden fees. The price he quoted is the price we paid. I would use Wolverine pools again for any pool remodel.

It was an absolute nightmare. I felt like I was the contractor overseeing the project instead of Wolverine. The chip out went fine. The tile installation began and I noticed that they were not including the decorative tiles. Trent Malone, (owner/ contractor) said they forgot to pick them up. The installers said that they didn't forget to pick them up but rather Trent never ordered them. They showed me the order to prove they weren't ordered. That should have been my first clue. I should have canceled my contract right then. Dishonesty and blaming workers for your errors is never a good thing. They completed laying the tiles without the decos. No worries according to Trent, they'll just pop them out and put the right ones in later. The next day they started grouting the tiles without my deco tiles. I called again. No worries, they'll cut them out and re-grout. Later that night I examined the tile and much to my shock the grout was gray. Trent said that's what he always used on natural tile. I told him that I thought white was the standard. If he was even somewhat professional, he would've given me the option prior to starting work. If I wanted the grout redone I would have to pay for the labor. Later that evening my husband and I were horrified to see the tile installation. Tiles were crooked, grout lines were completely random - some thin, some thick, the cut tiles on the corners were cut by hand and jagged. It was an absolutely inferior installation. Trent came over, said it wasn't that bad but he would have them redo some of the tiles. Wolverine was by no means the least expensive but I didn't mind paying more for a quality job. What a joke! My tile was redone 7 times by 4 installers. Once by the deck guy who has no experience with tile. The small tiles that were on my steps were a solid tile that was wrong. Trent once again blamed the subcontractor. However, when they came out to repair a chip in my brand new interior that Trent's tile installer caused yep, brand new pebble interior with a 6"x2" chunk gone- they said that Trent picked the tile color for my steps. Trent had to chip out the wrong tile and install the correct tile. Upon final inspection I contacted Trent and told him there were still severe problems. He told me my pool exceeded industry standards. He came over to review and after looking at it still stated that it exceeded industry standards. I then showed him 6 dark blue tiles that did not match my tile at all along with the blue tiles on my steps. The tiles that were replaced have a dark gray grout which doesn't match the natural grout. I will not let him touch my pool again. I am filing a complaint with the registrar of contractors. I highly advise checking for complaints before doing any work. Wolverine has 2 and with mine it will be 3 complaints.

Trent Malone listened carefully to what we wanted and answered any questions we had, knowledgeably. He kept to the schedule he gave us and did high quality work. He was always available to answer questions throughout the re-modelling process. We now use Wolverine Pools for our weekly maintenance and they are doing a great job of that, too.
