Description of Work: Let me describe my experience with Tekna and Jared their sales reprehensive’ We are building a new home and so we set up an appointment to have Tekna look at providing a alarm. Jared promised there would be no out of pocked costs. He asked for a one hour window for his appointment in case the traffic was bad. We set 9:00 to 10:00. The first indication all was not well was the day before when the promised confirmation of the appointment text never came. I called the company and they told me they could not transfer me to him only send a companywide message. The next day 9:00 came, 9:30 came, 10:00 came. No Jared. I called the company and again they cannot put me in contact with anyone I can speak to. I ask for Jared’s supervisor and they said they can only give him a message. Sure enough, after the call I get a text from Jared saying he will be late by 20 to 25 minutes. 45 minutes later he shows up. Nothing he promised was true. The system was going to have an upfront cost of $1,200 to $1,500 and by the way he would be my contact for the entire length of my contract. If Jared is an example if their service, they have none. If his supervisor is an example of their service, they have none as I never got a call from him. If they refuse to perform before I sign on the dotted line I cannot imagine the nightmare it must be after I sign.

+ -1 moreIt was a terrible experience with Tekna Security. We signed a contract with them 2 years ago and our Alarm went bad recently. It took them 2 weeks to come over and they only did it because we were complaining and we were going to report them to Angie's list and Better Business Bureau. They are unreliable. I would not recommend them.

+ 0 moreI compared 3 companies & Tekna was better price wise & quality of devices. The only install costs were for additional devices - the basic coverage required no fees for devices. I added additional glass breakage sensors & key fobs. The monthly monitoring was also less than my other 2 options. My install includes cell phone access to status, history, & off/on. The touch sensitive screen is much easier to use than our daughter's key pad security system. The install was soon after contract signing. And no fees for most maintenance, such as repositioning door or window sensors. Quality product & service at the best price.

+ -1 moreThe installer was great! Unfortunately the salesman professed to know everything but was not well informed. He recommended many items to simplify my life, Yet the items he recommended were incorrect for the function and for my system. He did not give me adequate instructions ( actually NO instructions) on how to use the extra items he had installed. He set up my account charging me for service I did not have and I spent hours with the monitoring company correcting this matter. The office staff was pleasant enough but NO ONE gave me any assistance with my system use. No one followed up to supply information that I requested.

+ -1 moreThe initial installation of the security system was awesome. The installer was very professional. Very knowledgeable. The system worked flawless. Recently i started to have an issue with one of the thermostats. It was not very clear how to reach their tech support. Then i found the number and contacted them but it took a while to actually talk to someone. The tech came out and just said he needs to reach out to someone and get back but is yet to do that.

He was able to save us money by repairing things we thought we had to replace. Before the installation, he and Jared, the owner, answered a ton of questions for us and spent time figuring out the best system for our home.

+ -1 moreThere was no charge; it was a free installation with a two-year contract. Their professionalism was topnotch. They had no issues dealing with anything that we asked them. The guy that they sent out was very professional. We had three or four different quotes from various areas and he was able to answer any and all questions. He didn’t just direct us to a website or that we could talk to someone. He really knew his stuff. He really understood dealing with a wired security system instead of a wireless system. He ran down the options of addition that we could make but there was no pressure from him to add anything. He was fine with just the base package. They had no problems getting the personnel here within our timeframe to do the actual installation. They followed up very well. They followed up probably a month after the installation just to check and make sure that everything was okay. They followed a true professional process from start to end. I recommended them to my neighbor who used them as well.

His quote beat the other two we had gotten, plus his system gave us many more features then the others. We are very happy we contacted Jared. We are looking forward to having our new system installed in a few days.
Description of Work: Jared came to our home to give us a quote for a new security system. Extremely knowledgeable and well prepared with the good and bad of different systems on the market. He was extremely nice and polite. There were NO high pressure gimmicks, just straight forward information and pricing.
