Tanner Materials has been serving the valley of the sun, Tucson, and Los Angeles for nearly 30 years with 5 locations as the pre-emanate supplier of surfaces for your home and or business.
These guys are not real big on customer interface but they do the work. I thought their price and turnaround and completion was good. I don’t have any solid complaints. They just got the job done and that is what I wanted.

Very responsive, courteous installers. Somewhat complex tile pattern chosen and required some rework when errors noticed, but very responsive to correct any issues. We are very happy with the products and service we received. Only down side is that we wish they had done better cleanup before tile grouting, to prevent thinset from showing through joints.

It was very good. The first crew came in and did the counters and then a different crew for the backsplash. There was a different person that did the cabinet. It seemed like they were one big packed family. When I said so and so, they said yes. That was my great feeling. They knew each other and that kind of put me at ease. I was a little bit concerned that a lot of time I was going to be here by myself with 3 or 4 people. I was immediately put at ease. I felt like part of the family. The kitchen was $5,000 and I think the downstairs was another $4,000. I have a couple of little things that need to be tweaked. They know about it. I have a problem with one of my shelves in the cabinet but I am sure they will fix it. It is not quiet finished yet. It will be nice if I could put photographs because a picture is worth a 1000 words.
Description of Work: I used Tanner Materials to put in tile in the whole of downstairs. They also put in a new kitchen with backsplash and counters.

During the course of a remodeling project for bathrooms in our rental condominium at DC Ranch, we encountered extreme problems with Tanner Materials/West Coast Granite. We had purchased a specific brand of sinks from a separate vendor and asked Tanner to use these during installation. However, when we inspected the completed work, we came to realize that our name brand sinks had been swapped and replaced with a generic brand of inferior quality. We were shocked that the crew would be so brazen - they blatantly stole from us. After we brought this to the attention of management, our concerns were not immediately well received. Mike Tanner came to the property to investigate and soon realized that the sinks his crew installed were not what we had purchased. Ultimately, the generic brand sinks were torn out and replaced by the brand name that we had originally ordered. We wondered if on other projects, items were routinely stolen and replaced by questionable products. Furthermore, the soft-close drawers of the new cabinets are extremely difficult to open and only shut softly when they are nearly closed. The original drawers in the kitchen from 1990 are far superior to what was installed. In addition, the quality of the most prominent cabinet in the master bath appears to be less than anticipated and responsibility was denied for a mark on this cabinet which we believe could only have been their error. Kudos, however, to the installer, Brady; to Craig/Greg (apologies to him for not recalling his exact name) who attempted to take remedial action when Jim (the owner) wanted to halt further work; and finally to Mike himself who went out of his way to accommodate our time constraints. Having said this, our overall experience was exceptionally disappointing not only because of the acknowledged theft of our property, the inconsiderate response to our concerns about the late arrival of contractors, the inferior quality of the ?soft-close? drawers, the mark on the linen cabinet in the master bath, but primarily because of the insulting conduct of Jim Tanner, the owner of this company. We would never recommend Tanner Materials to anyone and regretfully assign them a D rating. Although we must admit that we are concerned about retaliation from Jim Tanner, we wish to be forthright about our experience in the interest of future customers. ,

Our contract was with Tanner Materials. They directed us to several sources for the granite. We chose our granite at AZ Tile and it was subsequently delivered to Tanner and finally to their sub-contractor, AZ Granite Shop. We can recommend all three as excellent in what they do. Carlos Sanchez, at Tanner Materials, spent considerable time with us in explaining the process and directing us to the granite suppliers. He was always pleasant and patient when we needed to phone him. At AZ Tile we worked with Marcos Melendez who helped us in choosing the two slabs we needed. Again, he was pleasant and patient in explaining what we needed to know when making our choice, and in taking time to view a number of slabs before we chose. Finally, Francisco Sanchez from AZ Granite Shop was excellent in making the templates, taking measurements, and making suggestions on our backsplash, etc. The installation crew did an excellent job, of demolition of the old countertops, installation of the new, and the accompanying cleanup. AZ Granite Shop is a family business and their family pride is completely evident in the work they do. We highly recommend them.

The estimator Harold and the installers, Adam and Daniel, were real hardworking and knowledgable professionals. They were on time, friendlly, and knew what they were doing. As stated above, they had a lot of heavy lifting and tear out work just to get started. Of course the tear out work creates much dust and debis. They kept this to a minimum and did a good job of cleaning up any mess. They were also considerate of our personal needs, making sue that at least one toilet and bedroom were available for our use during tis week-long project. Overall, the finished product is outstanding; all of our friends and neighbors who have seen their work are "wowed" by it. "At least one neighbor says they are going to Tanner Materials to get their tile work done, And, imitation is the most sincere form of fttery they say.
Description of Work: Removed much old tile and all capeting in 15 year old 1800 sq foot single level house. Moved all furniture out of the way so that work could be done. Prepared floor surface to accept new tile. Tile used was irregular pattern travertine that required many special cuts to have a smooth transtion between the existing tile and the new tile. Travertine, due to the naure of the materil, is a much more painstaking process than putting down stadard 12" sq or 16" sq ceramic or porcelain tile.

Overall, they were exemplary. The group arrived prepared to work and remained intent and engaged in doing their jobs professionally and efficiently. They were respectful, polite and communicated with us during the process to ensure our satisfaction and that their service was what WE wanted. They asked about any preferences as the installation progressed and made sure there was a plumber to do his part with the sink, faucet, and disconnecting and connecting the water. They removed all of the old countertops and hauled off all of that material. That saved us a lot of work also. They were so accommodating that they could write the book on customer service. They covered everything to keep the dust off of our furnishings and then cleaned up everything when their job was complete. They even swept the floor. We will use them again!
Description of Work: Tanner Materials Chandler AZ came to our remote location approximately 150 miles from their store. They provided an estimate and followed through assisting us with many options for granite countertops in our kitchen. They installed a faucet, sink, and granite countertops throughout the kitchen

The Representative Greg bid the job....we had several. We had his bid and in order to get our business Mike said they would include the optional bar granite that was on the plan given to him. They installed, ignoring the bar and my wife called to ask about it. The response from Mike was "I am calling my attorney" and hung up on her. Keep in mind this was before any mention of payment! She simply called to see if the bar top was to be installed on a later date. She spoke with Jim who backed up Mikes response and was equally unprofessionial if not more so! Far cry from the demeanor when bidding the job. Mike also mentioned when asked if that was normal to threaten lawsuits and hang up on customers "Yes, it happens ALL the time" We paid in full upon completion of the basic job that they got by promising the bar verbally and will never use them again.

They are almost done with the job. They are going to be done today and I have been pleased so far. Somebody referred me to go there to look at the tiles and figure out what I wanted. They were always extremely helpful. I liked the store and they had a lot of materials to pick from. I kept going back and then I asked for an estimate. They came over and gave me an estimate. They were very prompt and their work is very professional. They do a great job and they take their time. They know what they are doing and it looks like they do it right since I watched. Everything has been good. Their price is good too. I would definitely use their services in the future too.
